Now, as for Fenris and the attracted to human women thing . . . I'm so sorry if this has been addressed and put to rest already, but I want to add in my own two cents. I personally have never seen Fenris judge someone based on their race (I mean, whether they are human, elf or dwarf). So, by that logic, I don't think it matter to him whether a person is one of those races.
And yet every single person he has ever been shown to be attracted to was human. It's like the Chantry preaching "all are equal in the Maker's eyes," and yet only humans (and the occasional dwarf) are priests and templars even though most city elves are just as faithful. I find it suspect. (Add this to the fact that Fenris is shown to have little to no respect for most free elves, and I wonder...)
When you get right down to it, he is a guy. And guys (straight or bi) are attracted to things that they find attractive. In this case, it's breasts. And last time I checked, all women in the game (including elf and dwarf) have breasts. So in my personal opinion, Fenris' attraction is race-blind. He sees them as women (or men) and not humans, elves, or dwarves.
As much as I want to believe it, every single woman Fenris has ever shown interest in has had these common features: they're human, and they have large breasts. I'm starting to think it's not just breasts in general that he finds attractive but large, cushiony ones. Elven women do not have these. (In the words of Oghren to Velanna: "Look at that rump. You call that a rump? A man needs more cushion." Oghren is attracted to butts, but he likes big butts specifically. I wonder if it might not be so different for Fenris. )=

I like the build up in the romances and getting to know both LI's and companions. Waffling, rambling, feeling around is fine by me because it is true to human nature. When we interact with each other in real life (and I wish some of us didn't) there is no perfect answer. DA:O encompasses that human element for me. I have to guess, even now, my response depending on circumstance. You didn't have that in DA2.
The DA:O companions bring a history with them and we live part of their lives as we play the warden.
In DA2 there are major shortcuts. Anders, we know his history because it has been established in DA:A. So no work needed there. Same with Merrill. It's shortcuts due to development limitations. Being in camp together with all of the companions there is intimate, and when my warden flirts with one companion while another is in earshot it feels naughty. That closeness did not exist in DA2. I had to imagine they were all meeting at the Hanged Man and the companions were occasionally catching Hawke and Fenris sharing glances, and later, stealing kisses. That was fun, but it would have been better if it had been seen. The ability to kiss whenever and flirt in front of other companions made DA:O fun and more realistic. When I play DA2 now, sometimes it feels sterile and the Fenris romance is always behind closed doors. The dialogue triggers at weird times and I find my Hawke somewhere between Isabela flirtation and the acknowledgement of a relationship with Fenris. It's... disappointing on that front. Gaider already said he wished they could do away with the sexual LI element. The only reason I like DA is the romance element and the LI's ability to make parts of my anatomy stand upright.

And, Fae, I don't think we need to place blame on anyone. After all, it's a relevant topic and everybody was very respectful of other's opinions when discussing it, so nothing bad happened
Moto, those pics... Oh man, especially the Desire Demon... No words XDD

A second thing is Danarius' ambiguous remark. Not everybody would aks about it, but certainly some persons would. You know very little about Fenris' past, and when something like that pops up... it seems relevant to a Hawke who is romancing Fenris. It is of course very painful and awkward to bring something like that up, but again, I don't expect Fenris then to give a dramatic description of how Danarius used him. He could just get mad and defensive and tell Hawke he/she doesn't have to know everything. Something like that. At least it would have been another opportunity to show that Hawke cares, and not just in the sheepish way that depends so much on when Fenris feels like talking.
Okay, end of rant.
Fenris' head on a desire demon... thanks for that nightmarish mental image! xD

Um, just a little question: does anyone here (besides me) actually like the pairing of Lady Hawke and Fenris? Because it seems everyone here has a problem with it. As for me, it's my third favourite (first being F!Amell/Alistair, and second F!Cousland (or M!Cousland if I'm in the mood) /Zevran).
I've always liked it when two very different people get together, and even overcoming social obstacle. I think it appeals to the hopeless romantic and optamist in me. So, an elf getting together with a human in the DA world, to me, it's just fodder for a tale of epic romance. Plus, Gideon Emery's voice is just chocolate on gravel, as a friend of mine put it.
And Fae, Fenris likes boobs. So what? He's a guy. Let him be a guy. And I don't think he hates other elves, he just thinks they squander the freedom them have. Also, he's only been shown to be attracted to two women. One, if you choose to not romance him. How does that prove he prefers humans?
Plus, that chick's dress was pretty low-cut, and she did have a rather impressive bust. I'm not attracted to women, and I found myself staring.

Hmmm.... did you ever see DahliaLynn's machinima featuring Fenris? She did that inside of DA:O so.... that means she has the Fenris model in DA:O. That could lead to one of two possibilities if she is willing to share.
1. You could perhaps switch out Zevran's model with Fenris's and it would be Fenris chatting to you instead. Of course he won't be able to get naked.
2. Depending on how they created the models it might be possible to switch heads with Zev. Fenris's head on Zev's body and then we'd have a naked Fenris. Hmmmmm. I'm going to contact her and see if she is willing to share the model or see if I can figure some of this out for myself.
Speaking of machinima, in case anyone is interested I did this years ago:
and this one, but the lip syncing is off because machinima.com compressed it again before they put it up :/
I have Fenris rigged and ready to go for a machinima, but I stopped because interest in him had started to drop. I was going to download one of Gideon's songs and have Fenris lip sync to it. I still could I guess, but I noticed even DahliaLynne's excellent machinima did not get the hits it deserved. Anyway... rambling.
MissRedZelda your pairings are exactly the same that I love for those characters. I was surprised to see someone else with that preference. One reason I love Hawke and Fenris is because Hawke is a noble in love with an ex elven slave and I find that romantic. I love the ironic relationships best. Mage/ ex templar, Noble/elf. It, for some reason, makes the relationship feel more genuine.
It was meant as an observation Coldy, not meant to start a raging DA:O/DA2 debate. I'm sorry if it seemed that way. You know me and my big mouth
And Moto... really? You scare me.

But yes, I love the "ironic" pairings. It's one of the reasons why I actually don't like Cousland and Alistair or even Hawke and Anders - especially if the former is a mage. They're too similar. And from a story point of view, there is no dynamic between them. The Mage/Bastard prince-Ex-Templar, Dalish-City Elf/bastard prince, Noble/Ex-elven slave, noble/elven assassin make far more interesting pairings because they are a stark contrast to what is expected in their society. They are defying it, and I think I speak for everyone when I say those kinds of stories are ones we all love to watch or read ;-)
Which, to be perfectly honest (and this is just my personal opinon! Fae, please don't bite my head off), if why I find the City Elf/Zevran, and Dalish Elf/Zevran pairings to be . . . well . . . boring. In my head cannon, my FHN presents herself at the end with Zevran, announcing that she and him are an item, and that she doesn't give a nug's ass what they think. She and him love each other and that's all that matters.
You know, I kinda wish Bioware had written in more reactions to the romances. Especiallywith the ones I pursued.

You know, after playing both of those, I have to agree that they are a wee bit boring. But I think it's merely that I find Zev boring as a LI. I think he's a fantastic character, but he just didn't click with my Warden. (I always play elf Warden, so in my head, it's the same boy, just in different circumstances ... mage, Dalish, city, etc.)
I am trying to mod/cheat my way through an Alistair romance, so we'll see how that goes. But if it works, I think I will enjoy that one much more!

I have a couple of Elf Wardens. One's a female warrior CE, and the other is a female Dalish rogue. I haven't actually gone very far with them. I've always prefered playing as a mage, so now every other class seems inferior to it. Sigh . . .
