Amirit, but that's the thing, the MEs and DA2 aren't interactive movies to me. I have no doubt they feel that way to you and Aldy, but I genuinly don't see it that way. I truly just... don't. I feel invested, in control and in no way constrained. You do. And that's fine, people can have vastly different experiences of the same thing. The only thing I ask of others regarding this is that they don't belittle me for enjoying those games, as if I'm just blind to the truth and am practically an inferior species not possessing of enough intellect and class to recognise the true foulness of my entertainment and not capable of appreciating the truly genius things on a deeper level, or, my favourite, that I am "part of the problem". I know you guys would never do that, but liking unpopular things has gotten me into unpleasant interactions sometimes, I guess I'm still a bit bitter about it. Sorry for the outburst. Shoot, quick, need something funny!

No, no and no! No belittles or anything. In fact, I finished my another ideal DAO run and ready to give ME2 a serious shot. And I mean it. Something tells me with a couple of fixes here and there I might even enjoy it (thanks again for all the tips).

Just out of curiosity - you really truly do not see more similarity between MEs and DA2 then between MEs and DAO?

Yeah, I know you were simply stating your opinion, it just has sort of brought back unpleasant memories. Didn't mean to imply that anyone here engages in such behaviour, y'all are great.
Good luck with ME2. But don't make yourself like it, it's okay not to, you know XDD If you're not enjoying it than you shouldn't make yourself slog through it anyway.

Of course I see similarities, but they are things I don't care much about one way or the other, so they seem a but superficial to me. Like the fact of ME and some FF games both having guns in them. I know the wheel, voiced PC and human only protag are more than just that to some people, but to me they're not. Sure these things are different than in DAO, but I suppose it doesn't bother me. I already have DAO, it's enough. I never expected DA2 to be like it, I guess, so there was no disappointment. Everyone views such things differently XDD The only thing I want for DA3 is for more people to enjoy it in their own way. It's really sad seeing so many who are disappointed, I hope everyone can have a great time again with the third game. It's so much nicer when people are happy.

ME v DA, I came to know BioWare from ME1 and because I enjoyed that and ME2 so much that I decided to give the DA franchise a try. Looking at my playtimes and fanart pretty safe to say that DA has become my favorite series. Probably part of that was my disspointment over the ME3 endings and the (imo over use of) dramatic cinematic/auto-dialogue in that game.  (edit to clarify - I was doing replays of both games at about the same rate until ME3, got 3 of my Sheps through ME3 and then... just lost the gusto and haven't played any ME since, my poor 5th Shep is stuck half way through ME1... one day I'll go back to it.. one day)

The dialogue wheel and such brought into DA from ME.. I agree, sucks. I really really hope they do not start putting in paragon/renegade 'interupts' in DA.. *shiver* They are great in ME.. but don't fit in with the DA playstyle IMO.

I haven't tried the Thane-mance yet... for some reason the 'memory flashback' talks kind of annoy me *ducks*

on an unrelated note, I finally got the hsti mage robe mods to work! These are the "Lovely Abomination" robes

I thoroughly enjoyed both The DA and the ME franchises though it took awhile with ME cause -*RAGEQUITTHROWCONTROLLER*- I have no aiming abilities. Oh, I do so remember the days of complaining about it here and having ME veterans pat me on the head and be like "Turn down the difficulty, try again.".I actually found myself more proud of My Shep then I had been of my Warden when she climbed out of the rubble in the end, I had this big stupid grin on my face. Just thinking about it, *fondsmile*

I really hope a couple things do get carried over, like the Renegade/Paragon style. Sure DAII had the option of yelling, but mostly in DA2 and DA:O when you do bad things I felt like an evil maniac, I was just freaking mean. in ME-verse when you were cruel it really felt in character, like she had a reason for exterminating the Rachni, for shooting innocents, In ME you feel ruthless and hardened by everything you go though, in DA it was more like evil with a freaking chip on your shoulder. So I believe their Paragon/Renegade stuff could use some cross game collaboration.

April: We NEED the interrupts they were like the best thing for gaming, hugging distraught companions, pushing annoying targets out windows Head butting a Qunari!! *fansself*... And, since they don't have to be pressed then Interrupts only bring more to a game and don't take away anything. Also with the Chaos that was the Thane romance in ME3 I'll tell you what I told my bestie when she borrowed my game and the question of romancing Thane came up "Thane, is awesome, Love him... makes a really epic friend."

Kiss anywhere! Yay! I wonder who my Elf romance will be this time, he's gonna be getting a LOT of random love to make up for Zevran and Fenris missing out. Or maybe Cole (If that rumour is true)... this will probably be the first game where I feel torn about who I romance! Other then ME2.

I hope if we get cameos by our Hawke/Warden that their romances are still with them... I just, I just want to see Fenris and Zev one more time before the DA universe moves out of that time line... just... one more time.

I can't play ME 3, (haven't tried the other two) because of the horrendous lip synching and that is my only reason. It's true... it drives me crazy and basically the rest of the game doesn't exist after the first word. Shallow, I know, but that is a big deal for me like favorite characters dying to others. I apologize to you hardened ME fans.

I have to agree with Flippy, I am quite fond of the new elves, especially the height. I've never been able to see elves as shorter than humans, so although I found them lovely in DA:O I still craved for them to be tall and straight. I love Fenris and  his look, his muscular legs, large biceps, long elegant fingers that I'm sure could be put to good use.... uh you get the idea. It is part of what gives him that Fenrisy grace and the regality that he oozes. So... no short elves for me :/

Never! I'd belittle you if you just agreed with everyone and didn't take up for your own preferences. There used to be ages ago, a person on here who had two cronies and no matter what was said the three of them always agreed with each other. . It used to make me feel ill. For me, DA2 and DA:O are now two different games that share the same lore but are not related in any other way. Since I've come to that agreement with my brain cells, I am much happier for it.  I never expect anyone to feel the same way about a game as I do because it's such a personal experience. However, I do like to debate and that tends to get me in trouble. The other thing I want to say is that, even though I said DA2 feels like an interactive movie compared to traditional rpgs, I have always taken up for the game throughout the forum. Because I do love it and I know other people do too. I've played it 15+ times. If DA3 turns out to be a lot like it, I'd play it and I'm certain I'd enjoy it (as long as Fenris and Alistair do not die. There's just too much feelings there.) especially if they add the random kissing back in The only reason I've never played ME1 or 2 and I didn't finish 3 because of the lip synching.

@ April: thanks! Such a shame of the scars, indeed. I give all Shepards scars (well, I gave all three of them scars, hehe). The only reason I can come up with is that Miranda decided to get rid of the scar while she was at it. If you can resurrect someone, removing a scar can't be very difficult.

Your warden looks great! What an elegant, pretty elf. And you're not alone when it comes to Thane. I'm sorry to say I fail to see his appeal. I guess he's not my type. The vibrator in his voice annoys me too.

You might try ME2 one day - who knows if leep sichronization is better you might even like it... (Guess, I am trying to convince myself)

A serious amount of Thane dislike in this thread....which I find interesting since just about every Thane fan I know is a huge Fenris fan. I also find it interesting how often (and I am guilty of this as well) people are quick to point out what they don't like about something or someone, even when they know others here do. It feels a bit like "needling". Instead of focusing on what you don't like, maybe tell us what you do like. Not suggesting that people don't talk about things they like, just that it seems to get overshadowed by what is NOT liked.

Maybe we should stay somewhere nearer the topic then? Yes... no... maybe? I don't know! Sometimes, I think people forget just how much the characters mean to another person. I'm guilty of going on about Anders and my rabid dislike for him and I upset someone because of it. It wasn't intentional but still... I don't like doing that to people. What about Danarius? Can we take our hate out on him and blame him for everything we don't like? You know he streams down the Internet and plants bad thoughts in our heads don't you? Could you imagine if Fenris was transported to our world? He'd be beating up all the appliances thinking them possessed or full of blood magic And what would he think of the pictures of him??? o_O Poor elf.

 I love Thane, love, love love. He and Garrus share the entirety of my ME Fan Squee, and because I absolutely adore him I can't romance him, not with any character I plan on dragging into ME3. As a friend I can handle where the Thane plot line goes, as a romance... no, just no. I am in serious denial that romanced Thane even exists in ME3. Probably will be until Bioware finally releases a toolkit and lets the fans fix the mess that was made of the ME2 romance options. My saving grace was that I have Garrus still. *clings to raptor boyfriend*
Um as an evil maniac I can't not hit you for that Aldien.<_< But I promise to feel really bad about it after.  Cole is a thing that I can't really explain here without being a spoilery miss spoiler. I don't think out characters will have any problems remembering him now April, given the events at the end of Asunder.

There must be something about himself he considers good... few people are utterly and completely evil. Not that I want to defend him or the thing's he's done... no excuse can be good enough for that. Still, I'm curious about Danarius' point of view on things... especially on Fenris, because I feel he did have some kind of twisted affection for his "pet".
I wrote two chapters from Danarius pov, and it was really fun and interesting to do.

oh I do like Thane! He's good friends with 2 of my sheps, I like the dynamic between him and his son and the assassin quest I think is great fun. I was just trying to explain why I hadn't romanced him yet, sorry, I did not mean, or want, to offend.

@Fleshdress re: Cole, well... *spoilers* the litany (sp?) cancelled out his cloaking ability and made him visible but when he later confronted Lord Seeker, he still had to say 'look in my eyes' for Lord to see him (he sensed him). Not that I'm 100% correct or anything, that was how I interpreted it. I don't see how he could be a companion really.. unless it's Rhys/Cole (Anders/Justice V2). I'm reading some of the Cole threads now.
