I sang "Bring Me To Life" on Rock Band today in my best German Nihilist voice.
It sounded nothing like Fenris.
OK, so not German.
Is his accent from one of the known areas, but just harder to pick up on (E.G. it's watered down slightly), making it sound funny?
If you feel uncomfortable answering that one, then can we possibly have Fenris' VA's first initial?

Not that we're desperate or anything lol.

Completely embarrassed myself earlier at work when I started to giggle after I read Mr. Geider's "Peephole" banter. Note to Self: do not check Fenris' thread during important meetings.
As far as waiting for the game - although I will have the game in my greedy hands on release day I will not play it until the weekend. I think two cases of red bull and a few pounds of coffee should make for some awesome uninterrupted DA2 time.

Haven't been on the bioware site in like MONTHS.....was not too keyed for this game coming out...but now....sexy dwarf merchant, sexy looking lyrium addled elf, redesigned characters (please...gimme a Sten as a LI).
Tons of rampant speculation on the boards....
I am now waiting on pins and needles for DA2, and have already scheduled time off from work (and if EAs site was friggin' working for me, I would have preordered too)
Now to pick up my last couple of playthroughs for DAO, finish them off....and ...wait.

Gotta love that beautiful gal!
Also, YOUR DREAM... *still laughing so hard* That was awesome! I love those kinds of dreams, where you wake up and it's like there's a WTF-party going on inside your head! This thread should totally make a pact to share all Fenris-related dreams. Unless of course they're not fit for polite company.
Your theories about the characters are very plausible, and I love this part about Fenris especially. That's how I picture the situation, too.Dr. Doctor wrote...
Fenris on the other hand would appear to work the other way, he reaches into himself in order to deal with his problems. He'll sit in the corner of camp and mull over his thoughts. At least until Hawke decides to walk over with an emotional crowbar and pry him open.
As to Ben Barnes--I wouldn't mind at all. I still very much dig Nuada's actor (Luke Goss) though I expect that they wouldn't go that route to avoid undue comparisons.
I understand what you mean, and I'm torn.SirOccam wrote...
I could turn it around and ask "why does it have to be Fenris?" But I wouldn't, because that would be ridiculous, not least because no one actually said it did have to be him.
On the one hand, Zevran and Fenris aren't the same class, they have very different personalities, and if they are bi they won't likely be bi in the same way or take the same attitude to romance in the slightest.
On the other hand, they are both tanned light-haired elves, and it can seem to send a message of "we think that gay guys want slender tanned light-haired pretty dudes." I still remember how many guys craved Alistair and couldn't have him
(well, until mods, anyway.) Some folks really just like a sturdier, bigger man, and although
Fenris is a warrior he doesn't seem bigger than Zevran.
I think in the end, I'm fine with Fenris liking dudes, but in that case I'd really prefer for him to not be the only male companion who will have a romance with Dude Hawke.
I know exactly what you mean! Chris, Mike, Fernando, Matt... I always smile when I read or watch something from them. I know for them we were only one of hundreds or thousands of fans they've met and will meet, but... well, for me it was unforgettable. I love them all for being able to be who they are regardless of how many eyes are on them, you know? That's hard. I had trouble fighting through the awkwardness and fear I felt while on camera. But they've learned to get on camera and simply relax, which is just amazing and impressive to me.Tamyn wrote...
I still remember that time fondly. I'm really glad I got to meet you all. And I still feel special when videos with the devs we met are released about DA 2. Or when I read their posts in the forum. It's like, "I know that guy!"

Thanks for pointing him out! The show looks interesting, too. I've been steadfastly avoiding vampire shows of late because, as dumb as it is, I got such crap for years for being into vampires, and now everyone and their cat thinks that they're better than friggin' oxygen. Unfair, I know, but I washed my hands of them for awhile. Anyway, thanks again for digging up the link!
Don't give up on vampires! They are eternal. *looks desperately around for a vampire smiley but only sees aliens, bandits, and ninjas* Dammit! Well, just imagine that there is one, okay?
Yeah, for Nathaniel, the possibilities aren't so delicious for a non-Warden who never met Howe... but for Anders? I think they could make it work. Well, he did talk about wanting a girl in Awakening, though, so I have trouble imagining Anders as a serious option rather than just a fling.Thestral wrote...
Oooh I didn't consider that. Anders for permanent companion and LI plz.SgtElias wrote...
If there's another mage (and shouldn't there be?), it means it's more likely that they'll be male, what with two females already "announced". Anders . . .
There's supposed to be at least three of each class, right, or am I making that up?
OMG OMG OMG WANT WANT WANT! *collects herself* I mean, that would be sort of nice. *thinks back on all the days she spent shivering at his black-satin vocals for Sylar* I doubt it, though. Can't be an American accent; that's too broad a field of actors to fear us guessing who it is.kwintessa wrote...
Ohmigahhhd, that's just what I wanted, shorts.
Actually I would love it if Fenris was voiced by Zachary Quinto. You can listen to his voice here.
Hey, how about Sean Bean? He's British and was in Oblivion! Awesome actor. I would flip if it were him--I wished so hard that his character in Oblivion was romanceable. I mean, it can't be just me, right?
Just imagine if that were Fenris.
Well, it's probably not him either because his accent is probably more unusual than English. But it's fun to play the guessing game anyway.
But that doesn't work. In the other thread, it was Sir Occam. Who do we have here? Also Sir Occam. It's not our fault he didn't hear Fenris' voice actor yet.Maria Caliban wrote...

Considering the amount of physical
trauma a living-weapon-tevinter-elf-slave can only endure, I imagine the
aversion to pain may have more to deal with his emotions.
Sort
of like someone who had to deal with physical abuse. You raise your
hand, they will flinch and drop on the floor out of reflex. I wonder if
that is Fenris' reaction as well.
It disturbs me to have this thought, but what if you being the leader makes Fenris subconsciously regard you as his mistress? I mean, not in the fun naughty way, but in the creepy unhealthy way. Ser Gaider said that he would have the first instinct to punch everyone who touched him except for Hawke... maybe--probably--it was simply conditioned into him that hurting the leader is a bad, bad thing.
I was thinking at first it was because Hawke was important to Fenris somehow, but what if it's at least partially because his first instinct is to fear Hawke's power? That would sadden me greatly, but it would be a real viscera-grabbing element; to want him to stop holding back because he's conditioned to do so.
On the other hand, I could see that leading us to the wall-pushing. Hawke could probably try to break his control with either kindness or utter audacity, depending on whether you go the sweet or the harsh route romantically. Either you are gentle enough to show him that he can love you without fear, or you irritate and annoy him until his fear turns into outrage and he has to shut you up, pushing him past his conditioning and causing him to trespass over all boundaries--which is exactly what Hawke wanted. Results: delicious.
