Fenris strikes me as a very strong introvert who needs, like, five days to himself for every one he spends with other people. It would be difficult for him to be surrounded by others with no mansion to retreat in (the way he does in DA2) and would probably be more irritable as a result. :/

I just had a thought though. Do you think Hawke and co. tend to indulge Fenris' extreme introversion? I know the game FORCES you do to this, but I think most of us agree (maybe??) that if we had been given the chance, a persistant Hawke COULD eventually convince him to come and live with him/her. OR if that were too much for Fenris, Hawke could propose selling the "mansion" and buying a more modest home for the two to live in (and setting up Bodahn and Sandal, too, of course).

We do have that discussion between Fenris, Varric, and Aveline, so it shows his friends are concerned about him. It makes sense if Hawke is only Fenris' friend, but if they are lovers... I mean, once they make up, (and Fenris is seems VERY SINCERE when he admits he wants to be with Hawke and Hawke only after "Alone"), I think a caring and persistant Hawke could/should convince him to leave his house.

I mean even when he plays cards, Donnic comes to his place.

@motomotogiel: As an extreme introvert, I can honestly say I don't think it's the best idea. Different people enjoy different levels of social interaction, so it seems a little insensitive to tell someone else how much they should want to be around others. In fact, one of the things that consistently irritates Fenris is people telling him he needs to get out or hang out more often, as he doesn't like being told how to live his life. Only when they let up does he start to warm up to them (like Varric).

In fact, his three-year hiatus with Hawke seems to be proof of what happens when he tries to get further involved with people before he's emotionally ready. >>;

At any rate, Fenris eventually comes out of his shell at his own pace, and socializes at an amount he's comfortable with. He often adventures with Hawke (most days if you want to role-play it that way), enjoys the occasional visits from Hawke (which probably become much more frequent after they make up, if you know what I mean ;), apparently frequents the Hanged Man to play cards with Varric and Isabela often (as early as Act 2, IIRC), and enjoys weekly visits to play cards with Donnic. Probably not a lot by our standards, but for him, it's a very enjoyable life with the right amount of solitude and social activity.

After Fenris and Hawke make up... yeah, he would have needed to get rid of his mansion (it IS falling apart) and set up some sort of living arrangement with Hawke. I think he would have warmed up to it eventually, but the change would be gradual. I think he enjoys being around Hawke more often than the others, especially if they're lovers, and I think he would love them living together. Still, I can kind of see him as the guy who needs a "den" and some quiet reading time occassionally. XD

(To clarify, the term "introvert" gets thrown around a lot, but I don't think most people know what it means. Being introverted means you draw energy or emotional strength inward, by being alone. Whereas extroverts draw energy outward, by being around others. Take Varric, for instance. He lives in the Hanged Man because he loves being surrounded by people at all times, and basically comes alive when he has an audience for his stories. Fenris? Not so much. He loves peace and quiet in a place to call his own, and likes being around people in small increments as long as he has a his own place to withdraw into.)

Little hermit needs his shell! <3

Although I agree that Fenris would eventually move in with Hawke I imagine he is an introvert/extrovert like me, I love being around my friends, hangin with my boyfriend, we live together, but I need my space, a lot. If he is home for an entire day I start to climb walls. It isn't pretty. Also, when I have designated time to do something for me and *poof* someone stops by to visit. Makes me very stressed. So I imagine Fenris enjoys his alone time too. Moreover cause I doubt as a slave you get much time to yourself and as much as he denies it our little elf is a broody guy, brooding is far easier to do with wine, a fire in the fireplace and yourself for company.

I think he really enjoys interacting with his new friends as well though, probably gives him reprieve from his thoughts and lets him feel normal for awhile. Also, in my opinion someone with no memories would be wanting to create some good ones with people he has come to care for.

Now... How would Fenris and Irial get along? I am gonna say alright. Like many Dalish my little supremacist can be a big pile of *affront* anytime someone does not immediately get on the "build a better land for elves" train. But, Irial hated slavers, destroyed the Anvil and was besties with Shale, certainly gaining the friendship of one cantankerous elf would be no more difficult then friending Sten where every convo is a minefield if disapproval points.

How would he get along with the team. I will show examples in the form of part banter, Yah, I am flash like that.

Alistair:You know Fenris, I am starting to think this is what it feels like when you are a slave, no say in what you become... just people telling you what they will make you become.
Fenris: You know nothing of being a slave then.
Alistair: Oh well no... not really... no, just you know, this little bit. Maybe it is sort of similar.
Fenris: It's not, you have options Alistair, if you truly do not want to be king you merely tell them. You do not want to know what happens to slave who tell their master they don't want something.
Alistair: I have told them!
Fenris: You haven't. Stop saying you don't want to be King and tell them you won't be their king.
Alistair: It's not that easy.
Fenris: It is, if you would stop being a co-
Irial: Oh heeeyyy, how about that Morrigan?
Fenris: I do not trust her.
Alistair: Yah, what's to trust really.

Fenris: Remove me from your glare Witch.
Morrigan: I had a thought...
Fenris: Keep it to yourself.
Morrigan: I thought to myself, what would I do if I could drag power from your skin.
Fenris: I invite you to try. If you managed it at all it would only be once.
Morrigan: Hah. you assume I need you alive? No, just your skin.
Shale: Does the glowing elf need me to crush the swamp witches head.
Fenris: Yes.
Morrigan: Tch, so afraid, fine, I shall go entertain myself elsewhere... ... ... Alistair! I have a wonder, if you would indulge me.

More to come, must go eat. This is fun though, People should join in my DA:O Fenris Party banter.:P

I am de-lurking just to say how much I want that banter to exist, like right now. I need it like air! Although my mind did a pretty good job of reading it in character voices for me.

I actually think it would be really interesting to see Fenris and Zevran interact. I can't decide how it would go though. They have both had some pretty terrible stuff happen to them because of slavery but their world-view in regards to it are very different, that's enough to breed conflict rather than understanding.

AmaneSaiko: Ah, don't de-lurk just to say that Amane! Join us in our DA:O Fenris revel. As Zevran (and probably Isabela) would say, the more the merrier.

Ren: One of my fave comics.

Zevran: Ah, finally a moment alone my elven friend.
Fenris: The warden has asked me not to kill you.
Zevran: Tsk, tsk, an admirable request, but it removes a bit of the thrill, no?
Fenris: I told him I would consider the request.
Zevran: Oh ho, and the danger yet returns, how exciting.
Fenris: *sigh* I do not understand why you persist with this Assassin.
Zevran: Let me put it with way; I do enjoy the odd adventure, yes? The rush of excitment that could lead to oh so pleasent climaxes.
Fenris: *chokes* What?!
Zevran: Ah a poor choice of words, ah... conclusions.

(Warden romancing Zevran)
Fenris: If it will still your tongue, fine.
Zevran: Alas, well... wait! what?
Fenris: Your tent or mine Assassin?
Zevran: Oh, uh... mi-
Warden: *ahem* <_<
Zevran: Oh, as matter of fact, I no, uh yes there are interrogation and uh, much boarding, poison... flowers going about alyeady. Right amore?
Warden: [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/angry.png[/smilie]*walks away*
Fenris: Indeed. You know, for an assassin you are remarkably unobserveant.
Zevran: You are a wicked, evil man. Please excuse me.

(Warden romancing Fenris)
Fenris: I am not interested. Let it be.
Zevran: Alas, certainly this has nothing to do with our dashing leader.
Fenris: No, and if it did, it would be none of your buisness, but it doesn't.
Zevran: Really? But he/she is so dangerous, he/she is beautiful and exciting. Who could deny my Warden?
Fenris:[ She/he is not yours! Keep your distance Assassin.
Zevran: Hahaha, ah but you do make this too much fun my angry friend. Do not worry, our fearless leader seems to only have eyes for one handsom elf in this camp. A shame really.

(Neither romances the warden)
Fenris: I am not interested. Let it be.
Zevran: What if I told you-
Fenris:No
Zevran: How about now?
Fenris: No
Zevran: Now?
Fenris:[ No
Zevran: Now?
Fenris: Yes
Zevran: Really?Lets go!
Fenris: No
Zevran: But you just said yes,
Fenris: The moment has passed, you have lost the opportunity.
Zevran: I accepted right away!
Fenris: It was too late.
Zevran: You are a horrible tease my dear. I shall rest and renew my efforts in the morning.
Fenris: I shall endeavor not to remove vital organs while you sleep.
Zevran: Ahh, see you care.
Fenris: Goodnight Assassin.
Zevran:Sweet dreams till next time my dear.
All spelling mistakes can be blames on the fact that it is five am.:P

Oh yeah I know "introvert" gets thrown around and misunderstood... mostly by extroverts xD Also a lot of people confuse "introverted" with "anti-social" ... which is not true! Now I actually think that if Fenris were part of a camp type situation like in DA:O that he would be encouraged to come out of his shell more... whereas in DA2 he's allowed to hole up in his mansion which can be a tad unhealthy. I mean I've spent days without leaving my house, say, during the summer when I'm not working. But if someone that I trusted and loved (like my sis or whomever) would have just called me and invited me to lunch or to go shopping or whatever, I'd have said yes. Parties, no. Intimate lunch with loved one(s), sure, I can sway that xD

So that's what I mean about pushing Fenris out of his shell, I mean in a good and healthy way that respects his natural introversion.

Hello there Fenris romancers... Fenmancers? I must pose a question to the Fenris thread!

I have yet to try a Fenris romance -- I know, I know. I'm so, so behind on this! But I was just wondering which type any of you might suggest. Friendship or Rivalry? :3

FRIENDSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!! <3<3<3<3<3

:P There are lots of rivalry-lovers here (right??) but yeah, I can only do friendship with him xD It's because I am such a gigantic softie, and I can't stand to see him upset, and he DOES get pretty frustrated and upset in the rivalry romance.

In the friendship romance, Hawke seems to have a soothing, calming effect on him. Hawke becomes someone Fenris can rely on... which is just what he needs *wibble*

It's not like he's my favorite character or anything :? Not like I have an unhealthy attachment to him :? Really

Hello there Dirgegun.

I am a rivalmance fan, as long as you skip the glowy wall kiss cause it is pretty glitched. For your first time I suggest you Friendmance him though if you can swing it, you have to either meta game like whoa, of be anti mage, you get to see his adorkable side then yah, friendmance. The Rival!mance is pretty fun with a sarcastic/Aggro Hawke, sort of hard on a diplo!Hawke. If you want... well just look here!   Warning: 'Tis a male Hawke just in case that irks you.

That's Aimos take on the rival!mance with her sarcastic Akiva and though the scene isn't exactly like that, close enough.

Good luck and come and tell us your favorite bits!

Oh yes, that's a good point. I meta-game with Fenris. Because I'm never pro-Templar, and I think it's really unhealthy to encourage his anti-mage sentiments. But you can friend him without technically being pro-Templar... but it is hard xD

I am a rivalmance fan, it is just more my type of thing. Plus making Fenris angry is fun and adorable <3 Because making people upset with you is adorable to me... I am strange.
I.... actually haven't done a Friendmance with Fenris... I feel like a bad fan. I'm planning to with my next DA2 run, here I come meta-game.
