Hello Ice Wolf!

***SPOILER BELOW***

I didn't dislike Anders romance the first time I played through it. It was the second time. At the very end I felt like my Hawke had been used. It made me question whether his motivation was love or if Hawke was the tool that enabled him to get vengeance. But with Fenris... that final kiss!!! It left no doubt that he was in love with Hawke. Anders is rambling on about mages without even giving Hawke a hug or kiss (friendmance) and Fenris is worried Hawke will die and then lays the best kiss I've ever seen in a game on Hawke. After that I started disliking Anders. Even on rivalmance he's going to go off and commit suicide. What about Hawke? It all seems very selfish.  I love mages and understand his pain, but when I look at his relationship with Hawke it leaves too much doubt.

Maymay your Fenris is awesome! What mods did you use to get him to look like that??? And can you marry Fenris the follower?

@aldien;
Do you have an account on skyrim nexus or any nexus for that matter? If so message me at this same user name, a couple of them are mods I made and can't upload there, but I can send you the download links. Yes, I made him marriageable of course :)

Also, I agree with that final Fenris kiss, best game kiss ever. They captured his emotions and his conviction into it so beautifully to the point as the player it was kind of overwhelming.

Hey, some more activity! Yay!

Maymay, your Skyrim Fenris looks awesome! Did you create him all by yourself? I say you did an amazing job. Now I need him in my Skyrim game... I've been searching for an Imperial with Emery's voice to marry, but there doesn't seem to be any. :(
Oh, I now see your second post. Would you mind if I send you a message as well? *uses Fenris' puppy eyes*

I tried a romance with Anders after I read a fic that made me more sympathetic toward him, but I couldn't get into it that much. I think my main turn offs with him are how he reacts when Hawke is in a relationship with Fenris, saying how Fenris is more a wild dog than a man and that Hawke should be with someone more open-minded. How he dares to use that word while on a quest to betray Hawke's trust in him... blegh. It makes him sound pretty selfish. Hawke has chosen, and Anders knows that he will blow up the Chantry, and still he can't let it go. Fenris may show himself a coward in act 2 and run away from his feelings, but at least he also genuinely cares about Hawke's well-being. When Hawke moves on after their night, Fenris will suffer silently and let Hawke live happily with a new lover, even if he disagrees with the choice of lover.
I'm sorry, I can understand that people enjoy the romance with Anders. Not everybody has the same preferences, so if other people can see the sweeter side of Anders, that's great. Unfortunately I have become a bit too biased when it comes to him. ;)

Phew, it took days and days, but finally we've reached a new page (hey, that rhymes!). I've recently finished The Witcher 2 and have disovered the number 2 most sexy elf, Iorveth. Aldy, didn't you talk about him a long while back? I seem to recall a remark about Iorveth being sex on legs, but I might be mistaking. xD Anyway, I searched for Iorveth art on deviantart and ran into this:

LOL. Would Fenris join the freedom fighting Scoia'tael? Probably too many ideals for Fenris' tastes, although I think he would get along better with Iorverth than with Yaevinn. They seem to share the same snark ability.

@renjility;
More or less I created him myself, I made the lyrium burns, the character edit, and the armor. He unfortunately does not have Emery's voice at the moment :( because I do not know how to make a follower with that Imperial voice option selected. I couldn't make changes to the already existing face meshes either, so he doesn't look too DA2 elf like, but we'll just say it is DAO Fenris haha. Feel free to message me and I'll send you the stuff when I can; I have to get everything together, so it may take awhile. I'm going to see if there is a way to have that imperial voice first.

I thought Iorveth was physically good looking, but his blatant racism kinda turned me off. At least with Fenris, you can kinda turn him around.

Then again, I never really liked the Witcher series to begin with. Give me DA any day ^_^

Being a staunch Anders fan, I felt the need to chime in concerning the mentions of "selfishness", so excuse the WoT. While I certainly realise that Anders is far from being perfect, "selfish" is probably one of the last epithets I'd use to describe him, especially in DA2. Even his freshly escaped self in Awakening will return if you let him go when you first meet him "because he couldn't leave people in the lurch". But ever since the merger with Justice, everything he's done has been for the sake of others with no consideration for his own welfare, barring the necessity to stay hidden, and even that can be interpreted as simply a means to further his cause. If Hawke romances him, that's just about his only personal indulgence in years. If anything in his behaviour is selfish, it's him giving in to Hawke's advances, but by then, Hawke has had ample warning of what to expect and is voluntarily choosing to push him to breaking point.

There's also one important line that a romanced (friendmanced, at least) Anders tells Hawke in Act 3 after you complete the Justice quest.

"You have been the most important thing in my life. But there are things that are more important than my life." (or something to that effect)

That basically says it all. Anders is not his cause, no matter how intertwined they become by the end. To him personally, Hawke is everything, including his only remaining link to a semblance of normality. He loves her/him as much as is humanly possible, but there is a non-human influence on him as well, a constant, powerful one that has been present over years by the time he says this. He can't fight it anymore, and, in his defence, I doubt that anybody else in the group, Fenris included, would've been able to resist even half as well. Cf. the episode in the Fade while rescuing Feynriel. I like to think that bringing Fenris along on that particular quest gives him perspective on just how hard it is to resist spiritual influence and makes him reconsider Anders' ability to control himself, if even just a little bit.

As for his deception during Justice, it's a way of protecting Hawke. Is it misguided? Very much so. Is it unnecessary? In the case of a pro-mage Hawke, certainly. But you have to remember that Anders is really, REALLY driven to extremities at that point. His thought processes are probably something along the lines of "what shall I do tod--MUST.GET.INTO.CHANTRY.NAO.". It must be maddening. The result is a bizarre compromise between feeling the compulsion to complete his quest (and therefore needing Hawke's help) and desperately wanting to keep Hawke's hands clean.

His comment about Fenris is harsh, yes, but then they really do dislike each other. Does it necessarily mean that he's referring to himself when he says "someone more open-minded" though? When I played my Fenrismance, Hawke never flirted with Anders at all and took conversation options that also resulted in Anders never flirting with her (ie. telling him off about Justice after Tranquility, which bypasses his come-on). As such, there were ZERO indications that he was romantically interested in her in the entire game, and thus, the comment about Fenris at the end just came across as friendly concern. And, you know, considering Fenris' tendencies to rip people's hearts out and propensity for angry outbursts, without knowing his softer side (which Anders definitely doesn't), I can see where he's coming from. This is just to show that there can be different ways of interpreting that scene.

I get the vibe that Anders falls in love with Hawke no matter what, but that may be personal interpretation then. I don't think Anders' attitude towards Fenris is fair, but I understand that it is probably largely influenced by the "if you're not with me, you're against me mentality" caused by Justice/Vengeance. Fenris is not ripping hearts out at random. Apart from the Fog Warrior incident, we only see him act in self-defense (or Hawke orders him to intimidate a slaver) and Anders doesn't know about the Fog Warriors because Fenris would never tell him. When it comes to angry outbursts, Anders is the last one allowed to speak, because he is the one who actually loses control and kills an innocent girl if Hawke doesn't interfere with the right words. Fenris snaps during A Bitter Pill and kills Hadriana, but she is far from innocent.

All in all I find the "wild dog" remark really uncalled for, because Fenris is actually surprisingly rational in his opinion. You can have a disccusion with him upon first entering the Gallows that definitely moves beyond the "all mages suck and must die" mentality Fenris is often accused of having. But again Anders only hears someone who doesn't think all mages should walk around freely and do as they please, and the "with me or against me" in him makes Fenris someone who opposes his cause. I have read many similar opinions about Fenris, so apparently this way of reasoning is not limited to someone possessed by a Justice spirit. xD

I'm not entirely convinced that the deception during Justice is primarily to protect Hawke. Like you said, Anders' cause is more important at that point, so I think Anders is not being honest bcause he fears Hawke would stop him. He's probably right too, because not even my pro mage Hawkes would allow him to blow up innocent people and start a war.

By the way, I do appreciate you offering your viewpoint, because it always helps to see a character in a different light. I'm not saying this just to bash Anders. I can see there is a good side to him and it's tragic how he ends up.

Thank you Maymay! It is very sweet of you to be willing to share. Your work looks absolutely amazing. When Skyrim first came out I spent ages looking for someone who had created Fenris but there was nothing. I'm so very excited by the prospect of having him follow my character around Skyrim. I know he is not an exact replica but it really is a nice rendition of him. I need to reinstall Skyrim thanks to computer meltdown and then when you are ready to share the files please let us know. :D Thank you!

Ren, Iorveth is sex on legs. I know he is racist but... I keep in mind it's a video game so I can perv him without guilt ;) Iorveth and Fenris pairing? Hmmmmm.... that's kind of hawt. I'd hate to be around if they had an argument o_O

This is just my opinion. I know people do love Anders but... no matter how hard I try I cannot like the fellow. He's just... creepy to me.

There is also the fact that Anders blows up the Chantry and then leaves the whole mess for Hawke to clean up. If you go on the premise that he did not want Hawke involved, then why put Hawke in that position? He says it's up to Hawke to make the decision. Well thanks Anders. That is very helpful of you. Hawke just wanted to buy a hat! Now the fate of the whole town rests on Hawke's shoulders.

On a strange note, I have often wondered if Anders sees Fenris as the biggest threat to his plans especially if Fenris is in a relationship with Hawke. There's always the fear Fenris could use his persuasion to change Hawke's mind. Hawke is obviously free thinking, but being forced to make a choice that could potentially drive your lover away (siding with mages) would never be easy. Anders must know if his plan works that a choice would have to be made and Fenris could be the deciding factor for Hawke. It's just a thought.

The biggest things that put me off Anders:

1.You don't seem to have the temperament to be a slave. I'm just wondering why your master didn't kill you.

2. The comment he makes if Fenris is given back to Danarius

3. Lying to Hawke while in a romance.

4. I don't like his romance lines except for the sandwhich which is classic Hawke.

5. His ponytail ;) I actually do like his ponytail. I'm convinced all mages are hippies at heart.

6. His bad taste in jackets

7. That bandage thingy he wears around his leg

8. If you do not flirt back with him he gets creepy

9. His hateful comments to all the companions

10. He doesn't have cool chest hair like Varric.

11. He's not Fenris.

12. You'll always be forced to have a threesome with him.

13. He may hyperventilate during a kiss

14. He molts

15. He does not wear the ridiculous mage hats that I love to hate

16. He leaves his socks lying around, Men have stinky feet. It's a given.

17. He gives milk to stray cats instead of homeless children ;)

I'm being silly. Don't hit me.

I think you can PM her already via Nexus for Skyrim Fenris.;)

Actually, I think Iorveth doesn't differ that much from Fenris when it comes to humans/mages. Iorveth comes across as more extreme than Fenris in his hatred, but like Fenris he does have his reasons. Non-humans are treated very badly, but he also knows the Scoia'tael can't keep fighting forever, so he is willing and able to join forces with humans for a free state for all.

Iorveth and Fenris pairing? Hmmmmm.... that's kind of hawt. I'd hate to be around if they had an argument o_O

LOL, the explosion of the Chantry would be nothing compared to that! Everybody take cover!

Hmm, it could very well be that Anders fears that Fenris will influence Hawke's mind in favor of a more anti-mage attitude, though it seems that Fenris respects Hawke's decisions either way and doesn't go out of his way to change Hawke's mind. I doubt he would consider writing manifesto's against the freedom of mages.

Nice list. I agree, haha. Smelly socks on the bed.... that's really disgusting.:pinched: I would throw him and his socks out. I bet Fenris' feet don't smell. Do DA elves sweat? I've read books in which elves don't sweat, so no smelly feet.:P

Files are ready to go whenever you want them

Lol at that sandwich comment, I romanced him once and being witty Hawke chose that option and could not stop laughing; it was so random. Fenris is my fav for this conversation alone during the end of MOTA if you bring him and Varric along.

Hawke: So what now? You aren't just going to leave, are you?

Tallis: You think I would fit into your merry entourage?

Fenris: We are hardly merry.

Hawke: It's true. Some of them hardly ever crack a smile.

Varric: Some of us are downright broody.

Fenris: Or so clever we could just die.

The way he says "die" to both of them is priceless! Oh sorry that is right up there with my morbid sense of humor.

So I am loving your "Fenris follower" for Skyrim. I actually did something similar in Dragon's Dogma. My latest pawn is in the "spirit" of Fenris (since it is not available for the PC, the CC is limiting on tattoos). But his hair, ears, and some facial aspects are similar. You can also choose your pawns posture (lol). Mine is slightly bow backed....and yes, he carries around a big gigantic weapon (it is a Capcom game, afterall....hehe). I'll see if I can snap a pic to post....

Oh Gooooddddds...Fenris and Iorveth? I really need to be in this picture. I love Iorveth. And Fenris. I agree. Yaevinn was kind of an ass. I loved him to bits but he reminded me of a well educated, arrogant professor I had in college.  Now Iorveth? Just a bunch of yummy angry elf in serious need of a good ploughing. I'm never on steam and the Thalion companion is similar, but I made a new one that has the tattoos, his armor, some changes to his face. I you ever want it, pm me at skyrim nexus or here, I have everything combined into one file, so no mod hunting will be required to use it.
EDIT: I just looked up that Dragon's Dogma game and it looks awesome, can't believe I never heard of it. I think we would all very much like to see what you came up with. You can never go wrong with more pics of Fenris.

@renjility;

My CPU? Crap...lemme think about this. IIRC it is an AMD 9950 quad core. Bloody stable thing too! But I'm upgrading to a Sabretooth 990FX/AMD FX-8350 combo, with about 16 G of ram. Or I will be in a couple months when my happy ass lands in Omaha.

But yes, I'm running about 30 workshop mods and a couple armour mods from Nexus.

Pin up Triss? Gee, sorry I missed that one. I mean it's not like I didn't see her completely naked a couple times in the game. -.-

That was one of my favorites too right up there with sandwhich, broody babies, puppy eyes, magical fisting thing and well... there are too many that make me giggle.

One of my favs:

Hawke: "Wounded Coast... I wonder if that's near the Injured Cliffs...
or the Limping Hills... the Massive Head-Trauma Bay. ... No one? ....
Just me? ... Forget I said anything."

Someone said on here a page or two back that they liked the idea that no one really appreciates Hawke's sarcastic comments except Hawke. That idea makes the comments even funnier.

Maymay did you do the Witcher 2 conversion armor for DA2? I downloaded that mod the other day and remembered seeing the same name.

Thanks again for the Skyrim files Maymay. Hopefully I'll be able to download them tomorrow and then get eaten by a dragon while paying more attention to my companion's backside than danger.

If there is an Ioverth pinup I want it for my computer room of elven porn posters. PR person needs to understand it would be wildly popular.

No I didn't do any armor conversions for DA2, just attempted to add some new ones. I can't mod DA2 at all. I did however help that modder figure it out how to port stuff or translation, I worked with him to port hair and he figured it out.

I'll go ahead and pm you the download link here, so you won't have to wait for me to respond.

Ok, now I feel the need to buy the Witcher (or Witcher 2....I dunno). Or maybe I should just finish my 3 current play throughs with "Fenris minded" Hawkes, that I have waiting to be completed. XD

I am really enjoying my Fenris-like pawn in DD right now.....pssst: I currently have him specc'ed for a Mage....BWAHAHAHAHA! (you can change you and your pawns vocations, and to build them well, they should take on all available classes eventually.....unless you are purposefully gimping your game to make it harder. Which people do ------> no leveling baddies....woops! :D )

Still need to get a good picture of him to share...kinda hard with this game though....*grump!*
