It's been a long long while but there are flags you can trigger. Same concept as a save file editor.

Also, Louvette made some new Fenris.

That pic is the perfect pose for him......and I thank her for including his lips and nose (quite fond of those two bits....Posted Image)

Ok, I get ya.  Have never used a file editor before, but have been wanting to.  Guess I have a good reason to look into it.

It's hard, and I've only done it three times (I think). Keep in mind all the other times I've recruited and romanced Fenris, and oh I've probably played DA2 10+ times xD

OMG ... So apparently when Fenris says "Had I know Anso would find me a man/woman so capable..." and we all pick the flirt response, right?

Well this is what happens if you pick the broken heart response and your Hawke is an aggressive a-hole:

I laughed so hard I started choking ROFL

Sorry to take this thread from sexy to silly in a post, but I recently discovered some hilarious comics from Anavantha in deviantART. This one especially made me laugh out loud and I thought people here might like it. (One evening at Fenris's Mansion...)

Thanks, Fae. I spat my ramen out.

Apparently we're all up at 2am on a Friday - I should have Fridays off more often!

@Fae - Thank you for dropping that link by!! HA! Fenris and laughter are two of my favorite things.... :D

@moto - having watched the YT vid yet, but will shortly....

So another thought to pass on to the thread: As we know, during "Best Served Cold", when you get to the wharehouse on the docks and kill all the conspirators, you have a chat with Keran. If you take the attack action, Fenris will back you up and a rather dashing way (from what I remember on YT). However, I have never personally been able to choose that route.

Now let me explain....as some of you know, I enjoy rping my Hawkes and Wardens in a variety of manners, but I admit there are somethings I just can not do (or least, have not been able to do yet). Examples would be selling Fenris off to Danarius, or putting Alistair in the position to be killed by Anora/Loghain. Strangely enough, Keran's fate has been one of those constants, but I would really like to try taking him out once. My reasoning for not doing it before, has always seemed really logical. I saved him from Tahronne (or whatever her flippin' name was...lol), helped him keep his job (often strictly for his sister's sake), and he didn't participate in actually attacking me at the wharehouse. Not to mention he spills the info I needed to finish the quest. However, I could imagine rping a Hawke that would become so uncontrollably upset about his involvement with the taking of Hawke's sibling, that he attacks without hesitation. The problem comes with the exposition that occurs before you can even take the optional action.

So my question: Have you ever killed Keran during Best Served Cold, and how did you RP it with your Hawke?

I also can't kill Keran. I guess I just can't RP that kind of character (the type who would kill him). My least empathetic Hawke sent Feynriel and Ella back to the Circle. I know, what a jerk lol But that's about all I can muster as far as playing a "bad guy."

Oh don't bother watching the whole video, just skip to the very end and hear that line, then Hawke's bizarre rejection LOL

So my question: Have you ever killed Keran during Best Served Cold, and how did you RP it with your Hawke?

Though I very rarely post on Companion Threads, I am a heavy lurker and felt the need to respond to your question.

I've Role-Played a number of Hawkes and only one of them ever took out Keran at that particular moment. I didn't have Fenris with me at the time, because he was busy being the hostage, I won't go into details because that would take forever but...

Tyr Hawke was a Mage that lost everyone she cared about - Bethany, Carver, her Mother and she had also begun to doubt her friendship with Anders and Merrill - so through-out the course of the game her emotions became extremely unstable.

By the time Fenris was taken in Best Served Cold, she had become incredibly overprotective of him and she wasn't thinking straight while she was fighting to get him back - she blamed Keran for not warning her and killed him for being involved. When she eventually managed to wind down, she felt terrible about taking his life and emotionally tormented herself at every opportunity.

As a Player, I always feel guilty when needlessly killing characters that I believe are innocent - Feynriel, Keran and Connor from Origins. I never would have been able to just outright kill Keran, but because Tyr wasn't acting in her right mind it was a lot easier for me to bear.

Uh, that sounds so dramatic.... It's just so much easier to do nasty or downright evil things when your character isn't thinking straight.

@Sylvanpixie - Thank you for your response. Your Tyr Hawke sounds a bit like my 'Sad-sack Hawke' (real name: Falon Hawke). And that would have worked really well for rp reasoning. I'm hoping to setup a Hawke that would have a similar reaction as your Hawke did, but have Fenris as LI, and Sibling the one kidnapped. Hmmm....the pity of it is, my last Hawke (Castor Hawke), would have worked perfect in many ways (he was a direct/diplo, with some aggro - love the gavel icon)....he had just enough aggro to have made it work, but I didn't choose it.

@moto - I can be aggressive and direct, and a bit reactionary with my PC's. But some of the more "dikhaed" moves (technical term, right? LOL), just don't lend well from an RP standpoint, even with some of my Hawkes (or wardens) that have....erm...."anger management issues". HA!

My latest Hawke killed Keran, and to be honest I didn't find it difficult to roleplay at all. After having lost Father, Bethany, Mother, and nearly Carver by the taint, Hawke is willing to do anything to keep the last ones close to him safe. So when Keran, a person Hawke has so far only shown kindness to, tells him that he was involved in kidnapping his brother to blackmail him... well, then he is beyond being compassionate and understanding.

I think you should keep in mind as well that Keran is not the innocent puppy he pretends to be when he begs you for mercy. After all he did aid in the kidnapping of an innocent purpose to blackmail another innocent purpose into aiding their illegal goals. You could also question his words that he had noooooo idea the situation had something to do with Hawke. He must have known that it was not the brother of Jimmy Smith they abducted. Clearly the plan was to force an important person to support them, and if you believe what DA2 tries to tell you, then Hawke is one of the most important persons in the city after the Viscount's death. So Keran is royally stupid, or he was lying to save his sorry ass.

I did not even know that Fenris would react to the decision, but it was a nice surprise. I don't know if anyone wants to know, but he says: "I would kill everyone who tries to use one of us against you." Of course with deliciously angry voice. Hmm. ;)

A fresh Fen and Hawke to complete my rant:

@Ren - Bah!! See.....I KNEW I should have taken that route with Castor. *brick-face!* How you described that is just how Castor would react....ugh! lol.....I'm tempted to find a save near that, and replay to the end. Generally, I don't like to "change" my play throughs once they are finished (replaying parts just for fun, or to try different lines but without saving, is fine). Well, I was thinking of starting up a new play through with another more direct/aggro type Hawke, (plus I could add in the romance scenario I looking to do, that I mentioned on the previous page), so maybe I should just do that instead. Besides, kinda in the mood to play around in the CC. Haven't done that in a while. ;)

Beautiful picture as always. :)

Alright....thread is going quiet again. So next set of questions.

There are two distinct opportunities to flirt in front of a romanced Fenris (well, in front of all the LI's, but this is the Fenris thread, so.....). One is with Zevran (if he was alive from your import - bugs relating to LI status of Warden/Zev notwithstanding) during the quest "A Murder of Crows", and the other is with Talis in MotA. Do you tend to take the flirt options for Fenris' reaction, don't do it, or do it but only under certain circumstances? Provide your reasons, if you have any. :)

Haha, I'm sorry and you're welcome.:innocent: You should have asked before you decided.:P I still need to finish Damian's playthrough. Finally started up DA2 again two days ago to play most of act 3. I had already played half of act 3 once with that character, but I reloaded the save at the beginning of act 3 to play the DLC's again, this time with Carver in the party (didn't take him with me before because I had heard that Carver overrides Fenris' dialogue in Legacy about daddy Hawke). I've gotten pretty tired of DA2's flashy fighting, but I think I'll finish this character anyway. Can't miss that steamy kiss at the Gallows of course.

Oh, because I had restarted act 3, I hadn't done Fenris' QB yet. Turns out that the fur of mage Champion armor is not suited for that scene. It obscured most of Fenris' face while he explained why he left that night.:o So annoying! So I reloaded, took off Hawke's armor and let him walk into Fenris' mansion only wearing pants. Fenris didn't seem to mind. Or maybe he did and that was why he muttered "festis bei uno canavarum".

As for Zev/Tallis flirts, I tend to pick them as a joke. Didn't get to the end with Tallis though, because I left her in the cave to fend for herself. Don't know if Fenris says anything else after the fight with the Duke otherwise.

LOL @Ren. Yes, I should have consulted here....bad, coldi! XD

The champions armor isn't the only armor that obscure like that, so I often have my PC's talk to Fen in very light armor, the "finery", or small clothes if I'm feeling silly. :D. So I am guessing you were playing one of your m!Hawkes in a Rivalmancy, eh? ;)

If you do tag along with Tallis after the cave, and flirt more at the end of the DLC, you do get a fun little response from Fenris. I only do it if it fits the particular Hawke I am playing. For example, there was no way Castor was going to help Tallis, and he wouldn't have even considered flirting with her (ok, I did do it once at the very beginning just to see that fun little reaction from Fenris, "What did YOU have in mind..!?"
But I reloaded, and went flirt free through the DLC. Tallis would not have garnered that kind of reaction from him. I have only played two Hawkes that fully flirted with Tallis, since they did enjoy trolling their lovely broody elf. HA!

Zev on the other hand, I almost always flirt with except for any import that had Zev as the Wardens "one and only". Since those bug out (grrrr), I just don't flirt, and I never bring Issy on those runs either. Castor and Falon were the only two who didn't flirt with Zev that didn't have a romanced Zev import....it didn't make sense for their characters.

I don't think I've ever posted in this thread before, even though I've drawn Fenris a few times. XD But since the chunk of comic I'm currently working on heavily involves Fenris, I figured I'd toss it here, too.

(Also I flirt with Zevran every damn time. It helps that my Wardens tend to be poly and wouldn't be mad. )

I have seen your work before.....yum. Posted ImagePosted Image  I do have one Zev romance with warden who is all about the love....with everyone! heh!  I haven't finished his play through yet.  The rest of my Zevran + Warden romances, have been quite exclusive (ok, I have one female Dalish elf, who was a bit of a player, but I always imagined her as merely "sowing" her wild oats...she eventually commits only to Zev.)

Please drop by anytime to add art, elf talk, recipes, help with crosswords, rate jam (or jelly...I'm not picky), discuss in depth the principle points of Phrenology.........good times!Posted Image

Soo, went on with act 3 again and have reached the Gallows. Siding with the mages, because it's always fun to try Fenris' loyalty. Heh. Spared Anders for a change and told him to ****** off. xD Also encountered my first Grey Warden Carver again. He was a lot nicer than I expected, so now I feel like I've ruined a chapter in my fic because I thought rival Carver would still be annoyed by Hawke. Ah well. Of course I abused the screenshot button and now I'm going to abuse this thread to post the result.

And yes...warden Carver (even rivaled) seems to be "good" with Hawke at the end. I actually don't mind that though. I like the idea of the two different occupations for the siblings colored them in different ways.

I don't mind, no, but during the Nathaniel quest in act 3 Carver is still moaning about Hawke's shadow, so it seems a rather quick change.

@ Redd: LMAO, glad I helped cleaing that up for you. Not that that was my image, haha. I did think their near identical pose was funny.
