I can go with that headcanon, it's much better than Fenris never talking to Hawke about it for three whole years and Hawke being expected to just wait around until he does. I hope the next game is more balanced when it comes to conversations with LIs

It's because the game was too rushed. The romances and storyline were written beforehand, then they had to stretch it to 7 years timeline to fit the global plot.

What does it have to do with Hawke's intimate life? Well, unless you've tried to bang Arishok ofc. I know i did
I didn't say that Varric was wrong, just that he moved a few things for narrative convenience to make it a more coherent and easier story to tell. The entire game makes more sense if you assume he did it for nearly all the less important quests, it doesn't make sense that everything would be clumped together into several distinct timeframes like it is in the game. Varric is more concerned with telling a good story than he is with being completely accurate, and good stories need structure.
It stands to reason everything that follows happened AFTER the Arishok was defeated. Therefore it has to be at least be 3 years after.
That's fair enough. But...the game really doesn't have good structe anyway though >_>

I am relplaying DA2 for the fifth time now. I romanced Fenris four out of five times. I just can´t romance any other. Did Anders, but it was painful.
But to be honest (I confess...) I am obsessed by Fenris. I wish the extended ending was released so I could see what happend to Fenris and Hawke. I never ever hope Fenris leave Hawke´s side. If we meet Hawke in DAI, I do hope Fenris is there. If Fenris isn´t, I hope Hawke tells us why.
Just some rambling. Just had to get it off my chest.

I am able to romance others, but only if I don't recruit Fenris. It's the only way.
I, too, was devastated by the cancellation of Exalted March... mostly because I was desperate to play more of Hawke and Fenris' story!

Give Isabela her ship, she asks you to join her and sail after a while, when you are done with Kirkwall. You can tell her you won't leave (insert Li name) side. She asks both of you to join her. The best possible ending
Leaving with her after events of last straw especially if you sided with mages.

It is glitched for the Fenris romance though. She only brought it up when I romanced Anders ![]()

I've enjoyed his hook up with Isabela as well, it was pretty sweet and healthy for both of them.
Speaking of which - some smoldering? ![]()

That is sad... Funnily enough I always denied Isabela her ship when I romanced Fenris so I didn't know. It works for Merril and Anders.

I always denied Isabela her ship, no matter of romance. I just can't bear slavers

Well I looked at it this way, Isabela deserved the ship more than Castion deserved death. I sometimes denied her the ship too though.

I just adore her and she does attempt to fix her mess, though a bit late I agree. We do sacrifices for people we care about and my Hawke cared about Isabela. It was only when I romanced Fenris I denied her the ship because Fenris would have wanted the slaver dead. Otherwise I gave her the ship.

Huh? What? How ? I had no idea. Is that what Varric says at the end?

Yeah, I wanted the Exalted Marches just because I wanted more Fenris/Hawke action... I hate the other fans for treating DAII like it was a plague, forcing BW to cancel it. *grumble* To be honest, I am kind of bitter because of it.
But I find it annoying that BW does not release whole games. We actually had to buy the whole ending. It should have been included in the first place.
A am gonna do a pro mage rivalmance Fenris playthrough. Then a pro-templar friendmance with Hawke being a total @ss.

Not really :|
Its more like a headcanon but a believable and good one.

Some of my Hawke's give Isabela her ship, some don't. It's dependent upon their personality and wants and thoughts, not my own
Cause I don't do self-insert playthroughs, though I've nothing against those who do!! Seems a fun way to approach the game.

My Hawke's personalities and tones are very different, but all of them have 1 thing in common - no slaver lives after meeting them. I just can't help it

Well Castion is not a slaver per se, he just doesn't care what cargo he is selling as long as there is money in it. Not that it matters that much as its still quite damning.

*snip lovely pic*
I rarely play jerks, but I do play a few Hawkes quite aggressively. Your picture there looked a lot like my Sad-sack Hawke. She did a Friendmance with Fenris, but everything she touched turned to doggie-doo-doo. In my "after Kirkwall" story, he ends up leaving her, since she spirals out of control with booze and gambling. Even Varric eventually cuts her off. In the game she lost both siblings, her mother, Isabella left with the book, she sided with the Templars, but couldn't kill Anders. Told him to bugger off, which sent Sebastian leaving in a rage, and had Anders coming back to go toe-to-toe with her, which meant he went squish.
As for Issy and the boat, I gave it to her once. It was my Ezriel Hawke play through, and she was his LI. They were well suited for each other. He too was bi-sexual, and full of vim and vigor. And a load of snark.
