Gotta show Fenris some love,even tho I didn't romance him...but I do have to say he's probably the most realistic character in DA,you do need to put a lot of efforts into making him a friend,let alone in love you. I think it's absolutely genius that they designed Fenris the way he is,he can easily get angry but also he's right most of the time. And my personal favorite thing about Fenris (as a friend) is he's such a little know-it-all,he almost always step in your conversations and be like:Hawke,this is...that is...we better....  and that made me love him so much...as a friend!

I don't know about the most realistic character in DA overall, but he certainly feels like the most realistic LI in DA2.  I like that his opinions aren't set in stone, I like that his story arc isn't plot-driven like Isabela's, Anders' and Merrill's all are, and I like how closely his character can end up meshing with Hawke's.  (I tend to play Hawkes who are loyal to their friends, protective of their families, and who try to talk Anders and Merrill out of doing stupid and possibly dangerous things.)

 

And in all honesty, I LOVE what he says to the Arishok if you take him along at the end of Act 2 and Isabela doesn't return.  Especially for a female mage!Hawke who's earned the Arishok's respect.

Ok,all the Qun talking is sounding a little Martian to me~ ​ I've only played this game twice,and the first time didn't even count because I started the game with the default world state few years back...anyway,and the other thing I love the most about Fenris is the fact he always seems to be his own boss and looks like he doesn't need anybody,but at the end I need to talk him over to my side (I supported the mages,first he left me,but then after a little talking between us he said something to Meredith like:I changed my mind,human!)...and I saw just a bit of vulnerability,a bit of unsureness and seeking guidance from another,and finally truly trust someone (even a human like Hawke)...like I said,that's so REAL.

I've only seen what you've described about him choosing sides on videos though, because usually he won't fight me. Some fans have wondered it's a bit odd as Fenris would've left instead of being involved with templars etc. Because he wants freedom. He has said I don't care a fig for them. Qun makes him sound SOO wise, haha i know it's a bit martian. tevene is latin so i went to learn some for fun.

Yeah,I need to stay true to my Rock'n'Roll spirit,haha... My real life last name Yaug is pretty unique actually,but hey,we're in a fantasy world such as internet. You've learned latin for Fenris? Wow,that's some dedication! Maybe in the future DA games we'll see Fenris again,and then I can try to put my paws on him,*wink wink~ Fenris is one of the very few DA characters that makes me went like: "wow,never seen anyone like this in gaming before"...the others are Morrigan,Felemeth & Anders (I know I know....tho he looks like a blond sunshine,but there's this twisted justice and darkness in him that makes me wanna protect him in his lonely world)...anyway,like I said,it's not right for me to not show love to Fenris here,he's one and only! Sometimes I hesitate between Anders and Fenris... i still like Anders too, but prefer Fenris.

 

(I studied classic Latin in high school. It was interesting, but I was not too studious ... Rather interested in the structure of language than words, and of course I interested of the Roman Empire [especially in the Julius-Claudius and the Early Christianity] – Sorry for off.)

My problem with Isabela is....I'm not your parents! How can I put this without offend Isabela fans,coz I do like her...she's a child inside,needs teaching. It's like seeing a child stole some candy from the store,you need to teach her it's not a right thing and ask her to return the candy...and the day after she returned the candy,she stole some toys,and then you need to teach her it's also not right to stole toys...I do like her tho,the moment she returned with the book I was like:That's right,dear girl,you did the right thing (almost feel like pat her on the head)...I slightly feel like a kindergarten teacher when I'm around her,no offense(to Isabela fans)!

Not, my first language are Hungarian... and the google translate is my good friend, just it must be used wisely, or else nonsense the translation.

Now that i have finally finished the rivalry version with Fenris, also I noticed that in this relation Fenris, after "Alone" mission hi not speak against the mages. In the friendship version, however, he blamed the magic and the mages again.
I do not know this was coincidence, or concept, however I see some logic. if for his frienship you agree with everything he say, chances are it, to Fenris still believe that his own truth, but if you questioning everything what he says from mages and/or magic, later, when he has confidence in you, Fenris acknowledges that nothing and no one to responsible but only himself.

So far, I still saw that friendship is more conceivable way, but now it hesitated slightly.On the rivalry path you just simple break him? Or you guided him to the right way?

I never really saw the rivalry as being about breaking him, personally... Pretty much the opposite. Well unless you do cruel things like giving back to Danarius, obviously. But I see the rivalry as being more about trying to help him confront his fears and challenge him to break out of the old slave mentality, by giving him something to push back against. Kind of like with Carver. He projects a lot of his own bottled up anger onto Hawke and is forced to confront it. Anders really does seem to break down in rivalry, he's too sensitive for it, but I don't think Fenris does and he ends up stronger in the end.

I agree. So difficult to free from the anger, hatred, and from the hard, painful past, but so easy blame the circumstances and others. Ergo: the man, who can frees himself from it, cleary strong. The help comes in handy, but the last step everyone must do for himself.
