Elfs, Varric = Ew" all over their thread. (By the way this isn't a rage post and I am just putting my thoughts down in the politest way possible. Cause this is a discussion board where people discuss things.) It's not like Varric is a completely original idea either.
A discussion does involve both points of view and if there wasn't any negative Fenris posts then we would be missing out on some very good topics. So this isn't a hate post to anyone who has/will post in this way, but if all you are going to say is "Varric forever, Fenris sucks" without any hint of actual thought as to why then please keep it in the Varric thread.

Just responding a bit because it feels like this has been directed to me (if not, I guess it's just my paranoia taking over and Im sorry for bringing this back to the top). Now, I just want to make it clear that Im not doing any trolling at all. If I were, I would have taking a lot more time to come up with something more effective than "Varric Forever!" Any posts that I do make comparing V and Fenny are entirely meant good naturedly and Im trying to play in with the old trope of the Elven-Dwarven rivalry thing...There are times when I pop into the thread and I do voice my opinion on some of the ideas -- for instance, I do think that some of the "wants" for Fenny seem to be heavily twilight influenced. Im interested in seeing how things turn out with this character and a large large large part of me wants the characterization (particularly the interaction between a certain tall, skinny mostly hairless man with the stylized hair and the extremely short, extremely hairy little man) that Dr. Dr. has been posting to be the characterization of Fenny. As I said a while back, Fenny just doesn't have that bro vibe coming out (if he did, that would be great and I would keep him and V along just to see what sort of Party Banter goes on), so he doesn't initially appeal to me, but if he has a dry sense of humour and can effectively play the straight man to V -- or even have V play the straight man to Fenny (think more Abbott and Costello than Laurel and Hardy - while I really like slapstick, I think that the verbal dynamics of A & C would work better), then I would be more than happy...

I could tell by your smiley faces and *Grumble Grumble* that you weren't "attacking" and that your posts were to be taken with a dash of humor.
There isn't actually that much trolling, if any, in this thread. Reading over my post again it does seem a fair bit hostile, which was not my intention at all. :\\\\ I appologise if I came across as attacking anyone. I guess it was more directed at future posters, for I have seen some major character hate/trolling (with more than just Fenris) but I believe that the Bioware forums are a good enough place that people generally do have respect for others. Elf vs Dwarf was to be expected as it is pretty much a tradition for the two to conflict and one would expect the fans to do the same. Physically Varric isn't appealing to me, but I have a feeling that I will get a big kick out of his personality. The two characters obviously contrast each other, like you mentioned with the "tall, thin, hairless, serious one" vs the "short, stocky, hairy, fun one". I have nothing against Varric fans for you all are a group of respectfull people who happen to like a certain character, just like the Fenris fans

Fen, Varric sucks" posts in the Varric thread and I guess my posts are also directed at them a little aswell. There is going to be some teasing between the two groups (to make things more interesting
) I could have just let things slide and not said anything, but some posts do have a slight 'hostile' feel to them. But any conflict between the two threads may feel a little more personal, for both groups have poured a little bit of themselves into the character's personality. We're both in the same boat
We both like a character and are trying to see why people like the other character so much. You and I had no intention of causing drama, and there will probablly continue to be hating in both the threads reguardless of what anyone does. Like I said before I probablly should have just let things slide and ignored my "attacked feelings". I'm obviously not the only one feeling this way, and I have no doubt there is over reacting from both sides.
TL;DR: It kinda feels like a bunch of high school girls fighting over stupid little things. Both sides are contributing
Nobody had any intention of hurting anyone else and everyone is sorry
Also, great things come out of conflict some times and both sides would be missing out on some jokes and such if it wasn't for teasing from the others. Like many of you have mentioned several times.
But I am very thankful that both sides are mature enough to admit fault and that we can generally have "fun conflict" without too much butthurt. This could have been monstorus in any other forum.
