*comes out of hiding* For some reason, I've got him pegged with Kaidan's VA (Raphael Sbarge) from ME. I don't know why, I'm not especially fond of him (Kaidan), but there's my guess! *re-lurks*

Just shoot me now.

I... won't be too happy if Raphael's his VA, to put it lightly. D: Like someone mentioned earlier, I would picture Kaidan every time Fen spoke.

But I doubt it's him - Fenris is said to have an unusual/distinct/icantremembertheexactwordused accent, and Raphael's sounds pretty run-of-the-mill to me.

Gaider said we'd immediately know who if he named the accent -- so, a well-known actor or voice actor who is the only, or almost the only, of his nationality working prominently.

Stumped.

That's strange - my bandwidth isn't exceeded. It's from my old account that I stopped using the moment I got a warning of just nearing the bandwidth limit.

I'll move a few things over to my new one. Thanks for pointing it out, I wouldn't have noticed otherwise. :)

Aye, he also said 'a bit unusual', so it's probably not vanilla British or something, and almost certainly not Sbarge's. Just no South African accents please :pinched: a few people have suggested that. I'm hoping for Irish, Russian or Swedish, though admittedly I know of no voice actors who've done work in RPGs with those accents.

High five for 3 min photoshop.

Alright, I think he look better with those white hair....:lol::lol::lol:

OMG...he DOES look better with white hair...i don't know why but it surley suits him. Maybe the contrast between his skin and hair?<3Which makes default FemHawke perfect for him (white skin/black hair).

A while back I thought it might have been Robin Atkin Downes, who's a really talented voice actor. But then Mr Gaider said that we would know as soon as we knew the accent, and Robin is not the first person I think of when I hear british..

'Tis a tough nut to crack.

So we don't know exactly how the lyrium tattoos work, but given his background, it seems logical to me that they were, at least in part, used as a method of control by Fenris's magister.

Which makes me wonder...do you think Hawke might find out how this control works? If so, will there be a choice to utilize it or not to control Fenris?

It's a very ruthless option, but Origins had plenty of equally ruthless decisions.

I am sure we'll have a ruthless option at one point in the game.

Idon't think the magister can control Fenris thru his lyrium tattoos, there must be something else...something external. Otherwise he wouldn't have escaped, right? Or maybe it was something like in Force Unleashed 2...the magister was taken by surprise, Fenris killed everything in sight and got on a boat or something.

I've been wondering how Fenris might act towards Hawke if he or she is a mage. Wrote up a little something... I can post the whole thing here if y'all want. I'll just provide the link for now.

I like it. Simple and cute, without too much fluff. Thanks.<3

I suppose it does raise the question of how he escaped, but the lyrium tattoos always looked like bindings to me. As if they're some sort of mystical 'leash' so to speak.

If he wasn't controlled via the lyrium, that raises the question - how was he controlled? He couldn't have been bound through conventional means as he would have been an ineffective 'living weapon' in that case. I'm curious how the magister controlled him. Blood magic? The lyrium tattooos? Or something more mundane, like manipulation? We know he lost his memory, so perhaps the magister manipulated him into the role and Fenris eventually found out that he was being used.

There is probably a control spell amongst them or in an amulet or similar that you have to remove before you can recruit Fenris.
What I find more strange though is how he became a slave to a magister in the first place, because I was under the impression that the order ended with the first blight or at least when the imperium converted to the chant several hundred years ago.

Robin Atkin Downes á la The Medic?

But (kinda) seriously, my first thought when I heard 'distinctive accent' and 'has been in an RPG' was Danny Trejo. My brain is a special, fascinating place, clearly.

Oh man, now I unironically want it to happen. Fenris' lyrium tattoos are actually used for Übercharges.

On that note, I'd love it if he had a Scandinavian accent, as his name is taken from Norse Mythology.
