Is it just me, or would Fenris not make an awesome protagonist in his own right?

Once slave to a Tevinter magister, Fenris was altered: lyrium was burned into his flesh, its magic both stripping his memory as well as changing him forever. He became a living weapon, and eventually used his power to escape his chains. Now he finds himself in a strange land with no friends—and a former master that refuses to let him be.

His personal side-quests are going to be epic.

If you can hand him back to this master person, perhaps after promising to help him, IMO that'd be the biggest jerk move Bioware has let anyone do to a companion to date. Unless I've forgotten something jerkier.

Looks like a cool character. The name certainly rings a bell. Me being norwegian and all. I remember learning about the old myths back when I was in school. Third grade, I think it was. The ones about the Fenris-wolf was one of the coolest. If I remember correctly Fenris tore Tyr`s arm off at one point. D&D ripped that fellow off bigtime. Tyr being a god in the forgotten realms setting. One armed. I hope the elf fights just as wildly as the wolf he is named after, if he does, the fellow will be a beast on the battlefield.

As a side note: Nobody in scandinavia uses Fenrir, actually. Its Fenris thats the correct term. It could be they use Fenrir in iceland though, I am not sure on that.

Chris Priestly said from the initial reveal not to expect every single character to be a romance option... are we assuming that was just a diversionary tactic?

Katie Perry.

It took me ages to shake that song off my head, only to watch the GLEE version. Now you put it back to my head again, this time in Dragon Age II version. :kissing:

But then David Gaider came in as said something that (kinda) destoryed Chris's afirmation. Let me find it.

"Crikey, I leave this thread for an evening and what happens? Do I even
want to go back and see what you've been up to for 20 pages? Probably
not.

Incidentally, I think Chris's mention of "this is not a
dating sim" is a result of people consistently asking that (and
sometimes assuming it's the case) after every single character reveal...
and not just this character in particular. People who work themselves
up into a lather assuming that every character is an a) party member or
B) romanceable are bound to be bitterly disappointed.

Not that
you're not in charge of your own disappointments, but we don't want to
see you crying when a character who is pretty awesome just isn't as awesome as you imagined them to be.

Wait... what am I saying? Of course we want to see you crying. Or at least I do.

...carry on."

Was that the one he said about his desire of writing a romance interest that 'push you up against a wall' ?

Sadly, Bioware filled their quota of "push you up against the wall" with Grunt.

Fenris is a really cool name... I am not sure why I associated it with wolves but suddenly I think that it gives him a really interesting potential for his personality...

I'm from Norway and in old norwegiean  mythology, Fenris is the name of the great wolf. Bit off somebodys hand when it finnaly was captured.

*pout* That doesn't count, David. We all know Grunt wasn't a 'romantic interest'. And I've read the entire credit pages. If you didn't write Grunt, it doesn't count.

He looks a lot like my first warden, so I am pretty happy about that. I don't need to import my character. His cousin is already in the game.
