Maybe he speaks like Sten with only "No" and "Yes". Considering he was a slave i am sure he just had to look down, shut up and work. Maybe that's why he doesn't look Aveline in the eyes. I would die if he would be like Sten! I couldn't talk to him like 3 playthroughs cause i was trying to be nice (and i was a fem).

Does he look her in the eyes during the head turn where the camera is pointed at Ave? It's impossible to tell but I got the impression he was glaring up at her. :/

But I doubt David would write a character who had little content, so if that was true there would probably be a lot more depth after you "broke through". But you do have a good point with the slave attitude thing,

OMFG THATS LIKE MORE THAN THE SIMS. I'M GOING TO DIE. :D

If that is true then I am a happy chick.

In mass effect I was always like "Ponytail or bun... pony or bun... Wait I only even see her from the front... DAMMIT"

HOLY COW! 32?! Now that's the best thing i could hear *coughbesidesfenbeingaloveinterestcough*.

He does look Aveline in the eyes, but only after she gets up.

EDIT: omg and 22 eyes colours! *falls over*

It was said here, by a dev [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/smile.png[/smilie].

He also mentions that there are 36 styles for male Hawke, 17 beard options and 22 eye colours.

Oooh, CharGen is going to be fun.

Holy crapo. That is more than my heavilly modded DA:O. Imagine the possibilities... *dream sequence*

AND OMG SHOULDER LENGTH.

22 different eye colours, and
yes there are several shoulder length hairstyles for men who like to
whip their hair back and forth.

I'm out of answers again for now and back to work, stay frosty.

Here is his post for lazys who don't want to leave here. ;P

Michael Hamilton wrote...
I think I was accused of posting a political sounding answer earlier, let me be precise here. ;)

Default Hawke's hair and beard styles are not available for character customization. The default appearances were not really intended for piecemeal use in the character editor (ie: the precise nose and eye and mouth shapes are not available either), it is as was mentioned, a custom modelled head all baked together. This gave the character artists a lot more direct control over how Hawke looked without being restricted to the headmorph system for our title character's appearance.

Now for the good news: There are 32 hairstyles for female hawke (including the bald option), 36 for male hawke (the same number of unique models, but there are a couple more variations of peach fuzz texturing including male pattern baldness which makes no sense to have for females) and 17 beards.

There are no -exact- matches to the default Hawke's hair, however, there are quite a few very similar styles. There is also one similar beard model (though it is a bit longer than the custom one). You can make a very similar looking character to the custom Hawke model, but it is not exact. It would be close enough that you can roleplay age (assuming a character's exact hairstyle and beard length changes a little over the years). This is really one of those things you'll have to see and judge for yourselves because it is a little subjective.

There is a huge range of possibility, there are millions of face variations possible in character generation. If you were to see every combination of hairstyle alone there are 3,311,685 combinations of possible features for the male. Hope you're looking forward to it!

Potential hair length change over years? Yes please.

*ahem*

I wonder if Fenris changes over the years.

But seriously...
Oghren would probablly have an issue with Varric not having a huge dwarf beard. Thinking maybe he left his dwarf side behind in favor for a more "human one".

True thing...i don't think i saw a dwarf without a beard in Orzammar whereas outside there were some. Sandal for example.

It's been a while since I've played the original game, but if I remember correctly, Dusters tended to be (relatively) beardless or with short beards (sorry for reskewing off topic)

We've had topics pulled back from pages ago so no worries ;)

I believe you are correct. Thugs and people in dust town tended to be beardless. So down in Orzammar maybe beards could have something to do with status, and because Varric is a surface dwarf he probablly abandoned those ways.

I know it's a short little blurp, but now that poison mentioned it, it does bother me a bit that Fenny's hair doesn't move (even a bit)  when slams the table

As for the beards, If Im remembering correctly, it seemed as if (with regards to surface dwarves) that those born on the surface tended to be (more often than note) clean shaven/short beards, while those who came to the surface from Orzammar (Oghie in Awakenings and Gorim are the ones coming to mind) tended to keep the facial fur

Sweeeeeeeeet! :D
I hope there's at least one hairstyle in that collection that appeals to me (and I hope they aren't just slight variations of one style over and over). Default Lady Hawke actually has a nice pixie cut, so that makes me hopeful. I loathed the short hair cuts for women in DAO.

Oh yes. ^_^ Something I've always wished I could do in these games is for my character to literally let her hair down when she's relaxing around camp/not fighting. It makes her seem so uptight if she's stuck with same slicked back bun or ponytail all the time.

Thread is derailing a little...

I'm not sure what I expected from Fenris' battle cries, for some reason I had never expected him to swear. Maybe because the chara's from Origins never did that (as far as I remember), so I hadn't even thought of it being possible.

I'm happy we have some more information about Fenris, you can notice we are getting closer to the release date. Slowly the devs are giving more and more information (creature and area reveal, extra stuff (mirror, mabari etc)). And because of that I'm so excited. <3

I like the idea of Fenris using Tevinter swear words. I wonder if I'll use them too-- I  use "vashedan" (Qunari) sometimes (and get 'WTF did you say?' looks from people I know).

Zevran swore in Antivan during fights.

Wow Gaider was really nice and generous today...who bribed him with a bowl of tears?

I'm so excited about all this new info, just look --> Posted Image
I really like that he swears mostly during battle instead of using mocking battle-cries. I do like the mocking but I find swearing a more natural reaction. If I got attacked by a huge group of people/creatures/cursed objects I would probably swear..a lot.

And about naming a weapon, Gaider said he hadn't given it a name yet, it could imply that his signature weapon is the first weapon Fen got since he escaped slavery (or during the escape), and clings to it since he connects it with the change of his life, from slave to a free man. Posted Image

Then again..everything Gaider says tend to "imply" something Posted Image

Yes. The Poobah implies a lot upon his visits. But perhaps Hawke helps Fenris name his sword...?

I'm not sure what happened actually.

My theory was 'ask for information that was already given about Varric and pretend that gives us the right to ask the same things about Fenris'. Seemed to work (a little), I even considered asking for Fenris' VA again (since we know Varric's), but I didn't. xD

Fenris, looking at his sword: I think I'm naming it 'Marian'.

Hawke: Why in the Maker's name would you do that?

Carver: Because it's old, scratched and crooked? NO MARIAN I WAS JOKING! AHH NO FIREBALLS!

Fenris: ...No. Because I couldn't live without it.

I wonder...

No, he speaks in actual Tevinter-- normally only when he's upset, or swearing, but you'll definitely hear it.

I wonder if Fenris is speaking in Tevinter when he does his sexy table slam. He does seem quite upset there...

I don't know why but i think i am growing on this name. :whistle:I will change her appearance but the name is a keeper! Even though Marian is a male name in my language.

Really awesome nonetheless :o
