So, I'm chillin here on my laptop (I named him Gary, everyone say hi to Gary!) watching Family Guy and I can't help but think...the relationship between Fenris and the Magister must be somewhat similar to that of Peter and The Giant Chicken

Thoughts? Opinions?

XDDD Well, HELLO gary!!

Hmm... I always thought that his personal mission would be to get rid of his master once and for all, weather you buy, talk him out it, or kill him..

Because he just won't leave poor fenny alone.. :pinched:

Wow, in that case I hope Fenris and the Magister have epically long fights that span across the entire city. Could you just imagine, lol.

and hi Gary :P

I'm kinda inclined to believe that the Magister is probably some crazy sex crazed woman, or maybe that's just wishful thinking I dunno, *doodles scenario*

If that happened, she will meet a death that only my Lady Hawke could imagine

Edit: I actually think he was joking about the Australian accent, the Dalish have Welsh accents right? o.o'

That was definitely a joke. And yes, the Dalish are supposed to have Welsh accents.

What I want to know is how much he actually cares about the magister. Isn't it a possibility that he simply wants to enjoy his freedom and not think about him/her/it? I'm sure the magister will pop up eventually, of course, but would Fenris want that?

I kinda hope it is a girl, lets see BW go there and tug at our potential to get jealous lol, they kinda skirted over it with  Alistair but he just flat out shot the idea down that there might've been a woman/lover in the past.

Errmm... I think putting lyrium into his viens will put a double scar on Fenris regarding his master..

@Dawn: We don't know that yet though the Magister and him coulda had a "thing" before the ultimate betrayal , I would assume it was his newly found powers that helped him escape in the first place, why not take out the magister then? Sympathy? Lingering feelings? the plot thickens

Well, consider the quote on the official site. "Let them come, if they find the courage." That doesn't sound like he wants revenge, but that he would be happy to end it once and for all should the opportunity walk up to his door. Not that he would chase it down. If that were the case, wouldn't he make sure to deal with the magister on his way out?

So, on a more serious note, how long do you guys really think it'll be before we start getting some LI confirmations (not just Fenris) I can't imagine BW holding out to release...at least I sincerly hope they don't. My poor little heart just can't take it! Posted Image

You mean like he already killed him/her when he escaped?

lol, I await the uproar for F!Magister if it is indeed revealed to be a woman XD. You also have to remember that Fenris says let "them" come if "they" find the courage , meaning more than one person, the magister may or may not have been the actual person to brand him.

I'm a little surprised they haven't officially said much about it yet. I'm going to say a week before release, just so I don't get my hopes up for any earlier than that

Yea, now that I think about it...we'll probably need to have confirmations of all the companions first...

A female magister would be an interesting twist on things. The only problem I could see would be on a love interest level. Being a slave and changed/tortured by a woman would certainly leave some deep deep psychological scarring and it could be something that may prove to be insurmountable...

Then again, girls do tend to dig the damaged guy (the old "oh, I can fix him!" sort of thing :) and it would certainly be a nice payoff for a romantic angle. Although if it is a female magister, I would expect the finale of the love interest angle to be pretty close to the end of the decade (but that's just me)

Now I'm wondering how he escaped. Sure, what I said makes sense if he thought up some big plan to get out. But what if he just had a lucky break when he was already beaten down? (Though, that still doesn't confirm any desire for revenge, so I guess my ultimate point still stands.)

I always interpreted that as the magister and his/her/it's henchwo/men, or whatever academic circle the magister might have belonged to. I'm sure the experiments done on Fenris were a means to something big, so it being considered and planned by more than one person would make sense.

I imagine they would reveal information about more companions before adding more about already announced ones. I mean, Merril hasn't even been officially announced yet.

I agree bsb, which adds more to the payoff in the end. You don't just get to shag the hot elf guy because you said the right things and gave him his favorite trinkets, you really have to work on getting him to trust you, even more so if the magister was indeed a lover of some kind and turned on him.

EDIT: Also(if your talking about F!Magister)  it may not even be a I can fix him situation there, it may just be that she's got severe control issues, all in the name of love lol

Wow, I read "turned on him" as "turned him on" at first.
*gutterbrain*

Anyway, I agree. I'd like it if it took work. In fact, I'm sure he'll have some nice companion quests that deal directly with the Magister, so helping him get past the Magister will win Hawke points too! (at least, this is my assumption. I've only heard that there are companion quests)

That's part of the reason (your edit) that Im not sure if there would even be a romantic payoff  (provided the hypothetical situation of a Female magister).  that might be a bit too much psychological scarring to provide for one...

Blasphemy! BW can do it lol. I mean if Zeveran can eventually get over killing his g/f because he didn't trust her and still develop feelings for the Warden they can have Fenris getting over being betrayed by someone he may have loved at one point lol

There is an unbelievable amount of creepy in a lover-turned-torturer dynamic. Creepy can be good, but that scenario would also be complicated, and I would prefer if every interaction with him didn't revolve around this pile of physical and emotional trauma. I would not like the finite little box of interaction with this guy to consist of sorting through his problems.

I dunno, I think it's helpful to temper your hypotheticals by guesstimating how much dialogue a problem would actually require to resolve. Simply "slave to a jerk with lyrium to spare" with a side of morally gray reasoning for the procedure has enough potential for psychologically disturbing body horor awesome without adding another layer to the issue that would suck up Fenris time.

I know it's wild mass guessing mode in here but...
