Didn't you girls know?  Fenris is like Mhari from Awakenings.  Strong, fierce, loyal, good looking but wants to be a warden and he dies drinking Spawn Blood in the first half hour of the game.

Oh well, there's always Varrick for you all.

You spelled Varric wrong. Your argument is invalid.

Not to be confused with the Proving Grounds NPC named Varrick in Origins, right? That guy was such a poser..

Fenris is a really cool name... I am not sure why I associated it with wolves but suddenly I think that it gives him a really interesting potential for his personality...

It's because it's Norse mythology. He is the wolf, the son of Loke.

So there's one strike against the wolf comparisons for Fenris.. no facial hair :( At least we have an answer on that front now.

You say this having no grasp about how dangerous the procedure is, or if it is his credit or the one that made the procedure. Taking Caradin's journal into consideration, it is probably painful at least.

I still see him as a prissy version of Shale.

Great, now I'm picturing Fenris sounding like C-3PO.

i wonder if he suffers from lyrium withdrawals like the templars, unless that only occurs when lyrium is ingested as opposed to injected on the skin

If he does sprinkle in the night or whatever coming close to it, I call it shotgun for the first wooden stick to plow it into the heart of whomever decided to put that thing ingame!

Now jokes aside, I do really hope his character and story does justify his naming, because he certainly doesn't look like something I'd call Fenrir/Fenris.

Aside from the strange notion that someone would need to "look" like their name, yes, there is a reason he's called Fenris. No, it has nothing to do with his abilities.

It has something to do with his barefeet, doesn't it?

I shall Fenris MacGuffin of the Deus Ex Machina, just like Fenrir himself is in the Poetic Edda.

His name is Fenris, not Callus or Toejam.

my guess is that the lyrium tattoos serve as a weapon but also doubles as his leash, maybe he can't hurt his "master" due to them.

The look-argument is foremostly based upon my reaction when seeing the name "Fenris" and then looking upon that character which appears to be designed to make people go "Squeee, he's cute!".
I just fell straight for my own five.second preconception and can't get to lose this particular (frustration ain't quite the right word, but I am currently lacking a more appropriate vacabulary, it's a bit stronger than what I'd call disappointment, but this is due to my nature defining and using principles/words in a very exact manner most of the time).

As long as he sounds like someone who's been merely a living weapon for all the time he can remember and who has endureed great hardships and his story and character fits (his story does actually seem to have great parallels with the original Fenris) I am perfectly fine, but as for know, I can't stop picturing him other than like Zevran, and I think you can agree with me that is nothing like a mythical, godpowered, giant wolve.
