Okay, my story for the prompt 'freedom' is in my opinion too long to post on here. It's almost 3'000 words. So, I've put it on my FanFiction.net account.

Yeah, I know. Obvious title.
That's disturbing.SteamPunks wrote...

A long time ago one of the devs (I believe it was David) said something about elfs and their dna being recessive (not sure this is the term), anyway if an elf gets a kid with a non-elf it will always be of the non-elven race.shellys639 wrote...
I was curious if human and elf have a human looking baby.Is it the same with a half elf- half human and a pure elf would it still be the same or would elf dominate?

I won't pay too much attention to the 'they live longer than humans'-thing, I don't think that will play any part at all (or at least I hope not).Alistairschica wrote...
Ah, thanks for answering. I hope Fenris is a LI but to me it seems that it's just a heartbreak waiting to happen. Elves live quite a bit longer than humans, correct? Not to mention whatever difficulty his back story might add to that. These guys are awesome with the whole "omg, I love you....omg, I have to live without you." Kind of thing.
His back story is so interesting and strong in my eyes that;
1. if Fenris is indeed a LI, his romance will be special and beautiful
2. If Fenris is not a LI, then a part of me is okay with that (but the bigger part will be sad xD), because his history is so complicated I'm sure that all dialogue and personal quests will be amazingSince David is the one who wrote him, I'm pretty sure we will get our heart broken if he is a LI.*Then again, happy endings don't really stick with us the same way heartbreak does. Imo, anyway.
* The above is a compliment, even though my choice of words make it look kinda negative ><
Conclusion: I have a lot of faith in ser Gaider.

I hated that! My first playthrough was an elven mage and she romanced Alistair and she got dumped in the end. I was sitting -with my mouth open- staring at the screen for 10 minutes, my mind went totally blank. xDAlistairschica wrote...
I agree with you completely. I just wanted to see what everyones thoughts were on the age thing. Sadly enough, when I play Origins, I can never step away from myself and make choices that I wouldn't make normally. And I could never get into the whole Zevran romance 1) because he was short and 2) because I can't get into a storyline if I'm not human. I think the 2nd one is mainly because I played an elf on my first time through without any knowledge of what was going to happen. I romanced Alistair, made him King, and well...actually cried. I almost threw my controller. My first thought was how could they do this? I stopped playing and refused to pick it back up.
He has an aversion to pain, so he doesn't like to be touched. But it's not like he is dying of the pain when he is touched. We made Gaider crazy with speculating and asking about it.My point is, I expect to have my heart strings yanked and possibly broken but I also believe that the ride will be amazing once again. Maybe there's hope for me yet, since I'm interested in Fenris already. For me, it's the thought of (if he is a LI) watching him change as a person as the game goes on. I think it was stated that he doesn't like to be touched, not because of the Lyrium, but because he was a slave and it's more of a trust issue? I could have misunderstood, I've had to read through so much to get caught up.

* I wouldn't make too big a deal of his touch-causes-pain thing. It's more of an aversion than actual physical agony. You'll see when you play, though honestly he doesn't dwell on it at all. It's not central to his story.

I think they can, but since (in Ferelden) they all live in the Alienage or are Dalish, there are no 'noble' elves (AFAIK).shellys639 wrote...

Dr your dialogue is much more entertaining if one pictures male hawke. I was confused until it kicked in that in this thread when hawke is used in dialogue she tends to be female lol.

Dave: (working away on computer)
Thread: (in creepy monotone voice) Dave. What are you doing Dave?
Dave: Guys I'm seriously trying to work here. You can find out all about Fenris when I'm done.
Thread: We're sorry Dave we're afraid we can't let you do that.
Dave: Guys come on now, I really need to meet this deadline.
Thread: Look Dave, we can see that your really upset about this. We think that you should sit down, have a cup of coffee and tell us more about Fenris.
Dave: That's it I'm going on break. (gets up and walks away)
Thread: Dave? Where are you going Dave? I know we've made some poor decisions recently but we have complete confidence in you. Dave? Dave? (sigh) Guys I think we scared him off again.
Is it bad that when I read that, I could help think that the Thread must sound like EDI? I guess that makes David Joker.....Poor David.

I think you are safe - HAL transcends age.
