Most of us thought they are the companions that follow us in the 10 years span. Then somebody remembered what a dev said - that it isn't obligatory for Isabela to be recruited. Mary Kirby then stated (in the Varric thread i think) this is a list of suspects for Cass and that not all of them have to be best buddies with Hawke, that even if you don't recruit Izzie, something ivolving her won't happen (but you just won't find out her side of the story). My point is that if these are the suspects Cass wants to see and interogate, all of them must be alive. So Fenris shouldn't die! He may leave tho...
If that scene happens at the beginning of the game, there is no guarantee that he could still be alive.
Varric: There is one that you can cross off your list... (bye bye Fenris)
NOTE: I am in no way advocating this.

Varric: So you want a story? That's all? Really, there was no need to manhandle me at knife point.
Cassandra: Look dwarf, its been a damned long day, and my nerves are a bit frayed. (unsheaths sword) And when my nerves get frayed loudmouth dwarves get maimed, so start talking.
Varric: Alright, but first off one question, she had other followers, perhaps you should try them first.
Cassandra: I tried that, your friends were...less than cooporative.
Earlier that same day
Cassandra: (angry) I swear to the Maker elf, you will tell us about the Champion, or I will end you. (nudges blade into Fenris' neck)
Fenris: (looks down at blade with a scared expression, swallows and starts rambling off a story in Arcanum)
Cassandra: (slaps Fenris across the face) Enough games! Speak in the common tongue elf!
Fenris: (swallows again, and begins to speak with a thicker version of his usual accent) My...My forgiveness, my..my mistress teaches me not how to speak her tongue.
Cassandra: Wonderful, another useless lead. (turns to soldier) Bring word to the Templars, tell them to find the next suspect. This one can go. (the soldier grabs Fenris out of the chair and throws him out into the street)
Fenris: (stands up and dusts himself off) Ignorant bastards. (runs off to go find Hawke)

Uhm..it happens at the beginning of the game, but Varric retells the story you already had gone through. And Cass should know better...i mean she captured Varric. She must know a lot in order to capture a guy who knows everyone important in Kirkwall.

You know, I can't help but think that Cassie would be smarter than that...At the very least keeping physical and magical eyes on a potential suspect. Just because the suspect can't completely speak the language doesn't mean that he still can't tell her something.

So, Fenris is speaking in Arcanum, the language of the Tevinter Imperium. Most people in DA speak their own language and the Trade Language founded by the dwarves
She's been out hunting Hawke for days on end by the time she's met Varric, and by the time that happens she's had nothing but false leads or uncooperative suspects. That's enough to make her get frustrated, and when that happens you start to get sloppy.
Maker knows what would happen if Cassie decided to interrogate Isabela

I think we can assume that all the people in the pictures are people that you can recruit. and since all but two of those people we know who are and have been comfirmed and Merril has all but been comfirmed(last time I checked) that just leaves the person at the bottom. I assume its not Seb since he's DLC, so does anyone know who that person is?

Ehm Hello again. I wrote a prompt for y'all. I don't think it falls under any of the categories though... I sorta just went at it without thinking to be honest. There are a couple things I should probably mention before hand, such as:
-I went with the idea a couple pages back that the lyrium was slowly deteriorating Fenris's mind. (sad ;-( )
-Fenris is taller than Hawke
Okay! I think that about sums it up.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Moonlight streamed down from the breaks in the canopy as the maudlin group set up camp. The far spaced tree trunks and mangled web of branches that encased the clearing had been an inviting sign for the group to stop and recover from their previous run-in with a hoard of bandits. The bandits were disposed of quickly but at a price. Several of her companions had received minor injuries and because of this, they would have to stop and rest before returning to their trip. Hawke meandered through the small clearing, attempting to ignore the protests from a twisted ankle. Varric was tending to several broken knuckles. Isabella was gingerly pressing her fingers against a large bruise across her thigh. Merill was wiping the blood from her face with a cloth. Fenris was... not in the immediate area. Several months ago, this would have induced some form of panic from Hawke. Now that she knew the elf better, she recognized it was a common occurrence for him for him to disappear after a battle. Why, she did not entirely know. She figured it had something to do with his pride and desire to tend to his wounds in private. It was getting darker. The clouds had begun to shield the moon's beams allowing the group little room for visibility. Hawke left the others to rest and went out in search of firewood. After several minutes of stumbling through the undergrowth and occasionally snapping off a dead limb from a tree, she came across a familiar silhouette in the now impending darkness.
"There you are, Fenris." She could see from the light glinting off his silver head as he raised it to look at her. His accented voice rose from the shadow beside her.
"You found me. I should pick my camp more carefully next time..." His words faded away towards the end of his jest. Hawke could see something else shining from underneath his silver locks. It caught the light and revealed itself. A deep gash, leaking dark trails of blood brazed his forearm.
"Oh," Hawke sighed in shock. "Fenris, why didn't you say some-"
"-It's nothing to worry about." but his words were strained clearly, out of pain.
"Don't tell me it's nothing to worry about when you're hiding out in the middle of the forest because you're in so much pain!" She could feel her temper rising.
"Hawke..." He said in a calm manner. "The wound barely hurts. Go back to camp. I'm not the only one who is injured." She could feel his eyes on her twisted ankle.
"Its...its your markings... isn't it?" Shock graced her voice as she asked this question. Fenris sighed in response.
"Never mind, it IS the wound-"
"I can fix them." Fenris stopped. He hated when she talked about her "theories." He finally comes to terms with his fate and she comes and... attempts to invoke... hope.
"Hawke, don't start this again." She ignored him.
"I was thinking... wouldn't it be possible to transfer the lyrium into something-"
"No."
"Think of me as... some sort of medium. I am a mage after all. If I could pull the lyrium from your body, through mine, and into-"
"NO!" Fenris yelled. His silhouette had approached her.
"And why not!? You might be content to wince in pain whenever someone touches you. You might also be content to slowly lose your mind-"
"-Hawke."
"But I am not! I won't sit idly by while you suffer through the next several years until you slowly go mad!" Hawke was breathing deeply. She was usually able to keep her composure around him. Not tonight. Fenris's shadow hesitated in front of her before slowly placing his hands on her shoulders. He looked down at her with an expression that could only be described as pity.
"I have chosen my fate. I will not let someone... you, Hawke... lose your life because you want to try and fix the wrongs that happened in my past. I won't allow it."
"We don't-"
"-By all means, continue talking if you want me to go insane quicker." He lifted his hands off her shoulders. "Besides, they say ignorance is bliss, you know." And with that he left Hawke standing alone in the woods, a pile of firewood at her feet.
In other random news I had a dream last night where Natalie Dormer was the voice for Lady Hawke (because I had just caught an episode of The Tudors on BBCA). Fenris was in the dream too, but all I can remember is Hawke saying his name (and it sounded beautiful, cuz Natalie can make anything sound beautiful <3).
Indeed. The book she stabs is her own. She's already investigated Fenris and the others shown. She'd know he could talk Common.
I'd be very happy with Anders. Him and Nathaniel were the only companions I really liked in Awakening, other then Oghren of course.
Lol I had weird dreams last night to. I was on this board and I was reading new info but I never knew what that info was, just that I was very excited in my dream about it. I think I've been reading to much, its messin with my dreams.
A small request from the back, when it comes time to post all the weeks prompts up, can it be arranged in order from who did what prompt? For example everyone who did Freedom will be listed in their row etc. Last week's seemed kinda jumbled because it was posted according to who submitted first. Just a suggestion, if not maybe an LJ community should be made? That way tanky you wouldn't have to file everyone's prompts away, people can just post at the community.
I saw Anders thread filed all their prompt to the Anders appreciation group. Somehow I don't know how that work, or it will be neat.
This is so bizarre, considering I've taken Natalie's portrayal of Anne Boleyn as the inspiration for the Lady Hawke who will romance Fenris, should he be an option. But, I agree! Natalie can make anything sound beautiful. And she has the most amazing laugh.Minxie18 wrote...
