"Having to control his instincts"... has that bitter Twilight flavor.

No thanks. There's a line for me that comes after 'career killer who loves his job' but well before 'berserk button(s) and need to consciously repress urges.'

he strikes me more of the kind of individual that just wants to be left at peace,

he kinda reminds me of the hulk in that aspect (not the best example but moving on...). always moving, never staying in one place and just wanting to be in peace without someone always coming after him.

I'll agree with you on that one, nightcobra. Then again his quote comes off as being very combative. Context is everything, though.

I think it would be an interesting scenario if he was your average tree hugging pacifist before. Being turned into a weapon, and then needing to use violence to end the looming threat of further violence from those who were, uh, violent to him... could be an interesting psychological conundrum. A nonviolent person being turned into a means by which to cause destruction. Plus amnesia! How screwed up would you become, if you found that the thing you're best at is harming people, know little to nothing else about yourself except that, and then needing to go hide possibly among people...

(A thousand edits later, I cannot form a sentence today...)

being a living weapon when all you want is just to take a nap on the branch of a tall tree without a care in the world.

When one cannot write, one draws a diagram.

But I understood

That would be interesting. It'd make his background further tragic. Boy, he's probably going to be more tragic than a Shakespearian play. Walking Shakespearian Play.

I wonder how effective Fenris was before all the altering and what-not. Was he a skilled swordsman or just a slave who passed the time by attacking hay bales with sticks? Where did he learn to use a sword? Does he learn as he goes?

Why are people speculating that Anders will be in the party?

Probably because in a few in game screenshots a person looked very much like Anders. It would also make sense as there hasn't been another mage announced yet as a companion.

I'm so interested to see what happens to the forums when or if the Devs announce Anders as a party member and LI.

This Thread + Varric's Thread will be eclipsed by so much fangirl/boy love in the span of two days... It'll hit this forum's head faster than Cassandra's book hit Varric in the face. Like WHAM!

I want a story that will make me cry. Crying requires connection. I WANT TO BE CONNECTED D`:

I've only ever had one game that made me some what cry and that was because I pretty much locked myself in my room and got 100% involved in the game. Then like everyone died dramatically. It was still only an eye water that quickly went away. I want to feel something :,(

what about this?

what if he volunteered to have the lyrium marks on him before he lost his memories?

how about if he was friends with the magister before the incident but after the memory loss the magister considered that the fenris he knew was dead.

just a thought:whistle:

Bring in the cheesy "Remember he was my best friend the moment I stab him"

But in all honesty that could be very interesting depending on where you take it. His lack of memory causing him to be delusional. Or just us interpreting it wrong lol.

Oh, that is sooo amusing.  From a purely sadistic point of view. But amusing nonetheless.

From what has been revealed of him so far, it doesn't look like he dwells on his lack of memory too much...Dunno why, but he just strikes me as the tipe of person who just moves on...

Only an opinion, of course....A part of me wants him to be tragic character, because for some reason I find tragic characters more interesting

I would personally like to run into him while this Magister dude is trying to attack him to take him back. Maybe the Magister escapes and/or I promise to help him find his memories. I just don't see him outright trusting us from the beginning. I think something will happen that sort of leaves him no choice but to stay...in the beginning.

I'm surprised at how many of you want to see a tragic ending! I mean, I get that it really shows just how much connection we have to the characters with our reactions to such heartwrenching moments, but damn, I want my happy ending! Or, at least the choice to be able to have that cheesy-licious moment... Posted Image

Not me. I like happy endings. Real life is tragic enough. And that's why I play video games (that and pretending that the Darkspawn was my Board of Directors and The Archdemon the President - I think of it as a passive slaughterfest)

I don't think it's so much a tragic ending rather than a tragic story. I kind of figure we're going to get a heartbreaker since I believe it's been said before that this isn't a love story. Life isn't all sunshine and rainbows. I would have been filled with glee at a perfect ending with Alistair but even the FemCousland/Queen ending had draw backs. Like the not being able to have an heir and such.

Speaking for myself, it's nice to think that I can help Fenris overcome whatever mistrust and hatred he may have from being a slave. That and helping him find his memories. I guess most women are drawn to such characters because we are nurturers by nature, kissing boo boos, and wanting to hold therapy sessions even when the person doesn't feel like sharing. Lol. In my case anyway. I nag and nag. xD

That's the pull for me as far as his character goes...if he's a LI. I'll still lay down some smack on the Magister if he's not. >>

Don't get me wrong, I don't a tragic ending for him...I'm just talking about his past...You know, suffer all that just to end up in the loving arms of my Lady hawke *dreamy sigh*

Geez...That's the kind of things that give away that I'm still a teenager XDUU

Anyway, I wanted to share this...random doodle I made, my lady Hawke harrassing Fenris...in her dreams:

Thane's romance is enough tragic romance for me. tbh, from the moment he said "I'm dying." I was determined to not romance him. My boyfriend talked me into doing it anyway, and I am glad he did, but on the other hand part of me still wishes I'd just left that where it lay.

I'm not a very firm believer in 'better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all'. But I've been an all-or-nothing girl for a very long time. When I was no longer the highest GPA in my class, I stopped caring about all of it as much. I know that's childish, but meh. It is how it is.
