Have been listening to a lot of Two Steps From Hell and even though we still know little of Fenris I think between Ocean and Merchant Prince (no relation to Varric) those songs for me would be his theme..

Okay, question, how do you insert a hyperlink to normal words? I did know, but I haven't been on any forum for while and I've forgotten.

Light flakes of snow fell gently from the heavens. If he knew no better, he'd call this a beautiful day. But instead of sitting quietly at camp with Hawke, Fenris was staring down none other then his old Master, who had branded him with the lyrium, had ruined him.
"My pet," the magister crooned, his voice heavily accented. "It has been so long. Years, in fact. But now I finally have you once more."
"Go away, you abomination!" his eyes flickered towards Hawke. The apostate was snarling and seething with anger, and lightning arced between her delicate fingers. The Magister, laughed.
"My pet, what on Thedas have you done to inspire such loyalty?" he asked cruelly. The mage took a step forward, and Hawke growled, throwing herself in front of Fenris, the arcs of lightning growing bigger.
"Leave him alone!" the young girl snapped. "I won't let you take him!"
"You would turn against your own kind?" the Magister mocked lightly. "For an elfling pet? A mere mutt?" Hawke threw a handful of electric currents at the Magister, who simply raised his hand. The spell rebounded, and Hawke let out a short scream of agony as her own spell harmed her. She dropped to her knees, breathing heavily, and he found himself kneeling next to her, hand gently placed on her lower back.
"Are you okay, love?" he murmured gently. The Magister made a noise of surprise.
"I'll live," Hawke turned her head up. "But he won't."
"Pathetic creatures," the Magister sighed. "You think you're in love, don't you. Well then, shall we see how your game stands to reality, shall we?" he snapped his fingers, and Fenris suddenly felt excrutiating pain shot through his body. He let out a sharp cry, and gripped his head. His instincts, he fought them hard, but he quickly began to lose control. His mind screamed to get away from Hawke! He threw her away from him. He feared that he'd hurt her. The last sane thought he had was of Hawke's cry of fear, and the Magister's cruel laugh, before all gave was to bloodlust.
I'll add more later.

A little bit back there was the question of LJ. I wouldn't mind having a LJ group to follow this. It would be a good place for all the art and stories.
Anyhow back to shadows with me. Bed time and all. I'll be back again tomorrow to see if there is anymore Fenris goodness.

Magister: Hello Fenris, it has been a while hasn't it old friend?
Fenris: You are no friend of mine master. You turned me into this, you stole my memories (unsheaths sword) and for that you will pay.
Magister: (taps staff on the ground and sends Fen's sword flying away with a bolt of lightning) Temper, temper. I thought that after your years on the run you might have learned some manners. It is such a shame that people cannot engage in a civil conversation anymore.
Fenris: Nothing you did to me was civil master. You are a blight on the face of Thedas, you deserve the same fate as your forbearers whose hubris destroyed them.
Magister: Hubris? Hubris? You think that pride was the only reason why you became what you are today? My dear boy, pride had nothing to do with it. The only pride that I hold is pride for my homeland. The Imperium has been torn asunder for hundereds of years, research into arcane lore has been stalled by the Circle and their jailors the Chantry. You, were my masterwork my boy. A living weapon who could have spared us the people of the Imperium from the attrocities of war. You and those who would have wielded the same power as you could have driven back the Qunari and saved thousands from death and poverty. You could have ushered in a new golden age for Tevinter! But you fled.
Fenris: Your Imperium is decadent and corrupt Master, your friends and the Archon simply wish to maintain power over the masses. I will not let this stand. Your reign ends here Master.
Magister: (sighs) I am sorry my friend, but my schedule is much too busy to fight to the death today. Perhaps later. (taps staff on ground and disappears in a flash of flame)

Aw, screw it. I can't beat you nice folks. I'll just join you.
*lol* That is true! Fenris shall finally be truly ours, with no one to save him! *feels like she should be cackling evilly*lnicol1900 wrote...
Every time I look at that picture, I just laugh and think "Poor Fenris, he's not going to have Ser Gaider protecting him in March."
March 11th... So glad I have no lectures that day. I will buy food and water and all I need for three days and I will not leave my dorm room. My boyfriend is not going to see me at all that weekend.
My boyfriend will see me, but only because our computers are on the same desk. *grins* He will be to my left, probably chewing his fingernails off trying to figure out whether he wants to romance Aveline or Isabela. He loved Jaheira, but he loved Morrigan too, and he's a fan of both pirates and female warriors. He finds warrior play boring, and likes to use complicated strategies, so he plays a mage most often and tends to love spirited, strong women companions who can handle the aggro and the lockpicking for him.
Then again, he also had a playthrough where he got a real kick out of romancing Zevran, then marrying Anora in order to be King and keeping Zevran on the side. He kept giggling whenever Zev hit on him. It was a little odd, yet so adorable. *grins again at the memories*
I don't think Fen will grab him in the same way, because with Zev he seemed to just love being flattered, teased, embarrassed, surprised, and occasionally pelted with goofy jokes (heh, come to think of it, that's pretty much what I do to him!) so it's probably between the two ladies this time. (Unless maybe Varric turns out to be the bi LI... *muses*)
Well, I don't envy him the choice, since I have the gaming equivalent of a girlcrush on both and could easily gush about how awesome they are. An elven warrior, a female warrior, and a lady pirate are by themselves 3 archetypes that make me almost shiver from the unconventionality of it all. Add in a Dalish female mage, a human male mage, and a dwarven rogue, and a family member or two who can actually live and I'm sailing straight over the moon. Origins bordered on the stereotypical with its 4 male warriors, male and female rogue, and 2 female mages. Disliking stereotypes as much as I do, the current companion roster for DA2 is a dream come true for me.
*sighs sadly* Poor short guys.Alistairschica wrote...
And I could never get into the whole Zevran romance 1) because he was short
Yeah... I'm actually starting to get a little blasè about it because I know he doesn't much care for the happy endings. I mean, as MagneticDawn was saying, NWN2's ending is a literal "rocks fall, everyone dies" and I'm one of the girls that Alistair dumped for not being human and noble. (He dumps you if you're an Aeducan and a mage, too.) So I'm kinda like, "Meh. As long as I get to snuggle Fen for a while." And if he did actually survive and show signs of possible happiness at the end, then awesome. Optimists can never be pleasantly surprised.Ramante wrote...
Since David is the one who wrote him, I'm pretty sure we will get our heart broken if he is a LI.*
* The above is a compliment, even though my choice of words make it look kinda negative ><
When it comes to relationships, that's a good thing. Having standards is what keeps you from getting into hopeless relationships and staying in them long after you realize that it doesn't work. If not taken to extremes where no one is perfect, this will keep you searching until you find the right person.Maera Imrov wrote...
Thane's romance is enough tragic romance for me. tbh, from the moment he said "I'm dying." I was determined to not
romance him. My boyfriend talked me into doing it anyway, and I am glad
he did, but on the other hand part of me still wishes I'd just left
that where it lay.
I'm not a very firm believer in 'better to
have loved and lost than never to have loved at all'. But I've been an
all-or-nothing girl for a very long time.
Thane... there are a number of reasons why, as with Zevran and Bishop, I probably wouldn't have romanced such a person in real life so much as tried to give them psychological aid. But in a game, well, all you're really doing by holding back is cheating yourself out of game content.
Me, I had the same problems as Holy Jellyfish with Thane's romance. But seeing as I'm still glad I saw his romance, I still think your guy had the right idea about Thane.
I can only agree. I consider science and philosophy to be two different things. Charles Darwin himself had faith, and didn't consider his discoveries to make it irrelevant. Funny, as much as I dislike religion in general, a world without it seems unrealistic to me. A world without any kind of faith, even more so.Maera Imrov wrote...
To paraphrase Vader, I find the lack
of faith in sci-fi disturbing. The ridiculous assumption that all faith
will evaporate when a race achieves spaceflight is laughable at best.
Pretentious at worst. I believe even Thane's writer said he found it odd
that faith is always glossed over in sci-fi. I agree with him. There
are going to be some people who turn to that regardless of how fast we
can fly our ships and what aliens we can ogle.
Those individual differences flesh characters out. I have to say that I like Ashley's brand of faith better for the space-era fiction than Thane's. But his added a bit of flavor to the ME-verse, and to his way of speaking as well.
Yes. This because, assuming that God exists, applying a human perspective to how that being would view its creation doesn't work. I think in order for (him/it/whatever) to be truly good, it would have to allow us our freedom--to do whatever we like, to choose what type of creature we want to be. Thus it's up to the races of an individual planet to ensure that justice is done. It's our responsibility--it's not any otherworldly being's job to make life perfect, that's my view.Deliciously-Demonic wrote...
Would you believe in a God if you'd gone through such things that he did?
So yes, if I were Fenris, I would still believe in God if I personally felt the idea was plausible. But of course I don't think anybody sees him being anything like Leliana with the frequent talk about the Maker's blessings. Alternately, he might believe in the elven Creators.
While some people, Charles Darwin himself for instance, tend to lose their faith after a tragedy, which is understandable, I regard that as an illogical reason to change one's beliefs. I don't assume that my own immediate loss proves or disproves anything. Everyone suffers loss and suffers in general; that's part of the nature of existence. It's irrelevant to what you believe.
Now that is a good point. I hadn't thought of that. Very good point indeed. (Heh, love your sig btw!)Dr. Doctor wrote...
Not so much religious, but
philosophical. The parables about Andraste focus upon how a former
Tevinter slave essentially broke the back of the Imperium. I'd think
that Fen would consider the lessons that she taught to be wise council.
Now, to everyone who was talking about music (this is to keep my post from being even huger than normal!)
This is my song of choice for Hawke/Fenris. (Matthew Good's "Weapon".)
Holy Jellyfish, I am crazy about flamenco. Thank you for sharing that piece; it's beautiful.
Deliciously-Demonic, I've always liked Skillet, but I think that's one of their best.
To Madame Rose Crimsynn, my MP3 player is a scary thing as well! Celtic harp and concertos next to melodic metal and hard rock next to Curve, Flowing Tears, Halestorm, Demon Hunter, and Ava Inferi. I'm very moody when it comes to music, but it's usually pretty either very intense or very harmonious. Oh, and I love Emilie Autumn too! "Marry Me," "Thank God I'm Pretty" and songs like that are really funny, while "I Know Where You Sleep" is really intense.
To ceruleancrescent--I love Within Temptation and In This Moment! Especially "Her Kiss", the siren song. That one is extra-awesome.
Dr. Doctor, do you by any chance watch Supernatural? Dean Winchester would love you.
Relansa, I love Capricorn; that song is awesome! It really works for Will Traveler of the short-lived tv show "Traveler" too; that's where I know it from originally.
Margaret the Elf, I love Josh Groban's voice; it's beautiful.
*sees gif* Aww, poor Stains with the muffins... it's almost too cruel!

Emilie Autumn is crazy, but in a way that you can love her music. "Marry Me" made me laugh and cry the first time I heard it. The music and vocals are gorgeous, the lyrics are just funny. "I Know Where You Sleep" is something I got up and danced to the first time I heard it, because it's a song that's very hard to stay still with when you hear it. But her entire style on the Opheliac CD is crazy. If you go back and listen to the Enchant album, they sound like two completely different people-- Enchant was sort of happy and had really high, floaty vocals with a Shakespearian theme. Opheliac had darker vocals, and a darker Victorian theme behind it.
