Of course I was trolling just now, but it was hardly not in good nature. My constructive posts have been blatantly ignored before, including a piece of (I sound incredibly arrogant saying this, I'm sure, but it still stands) fairly well-written, Fenris-centric fanfiction simply because Fenris wasn't humping Lady Hawke's leg.Miserysky wrote...

I read the wiki before.. this is why I think its turkish.. cause of the map!
The reason that red part started to shrink - in Anatolia specifically - is because the Turks showed up, having invaded from the East.
The Qunari are the Ottoman Turkish analog in Thedas because they are outsiders with a different religion and philosophy when compared to Thedas. The dwindling, once glorious Tevinter Imperium is the Thedas' version of the declining Eastern Roman Empire due to the fragmentation of its former holdings (The Western Roman Empire would be the nation-states in existence now, such as Ferelden and Orlais) and the invasion of the Qunari.
It's a political metaphor, not an ethnic one.
You know, that's something I've never really thought about, but it makes a certain amount of sense. I know there isn't a direct analog, but it would be kind of interesting if Kirkwall turned into the Thedas equivilent of Vienna...

Tricky, you have to admit that it could be seen as a bit of a challenge to the Varric thread....
Even so is it really that serious that the troops need to start coming over with snark and backhanded comments just because someone said that? I'm sure it'd be pretty annoying everytime you guys said something pertaining to this thread and like 5 people came storming over every time lol. Secondly who flippin cares? People just talk more frequently over here it's just a number there's no need for this all this.
All I was saying is that (a) it wasn't an offhand comment and (asking you to put yourself in someone else's shoes and see how it could be taken a different way than you portrayed it...
I don't think it's serious and I, personally, wouldn't mind if some of you guys came to the other thread...we do have some nice Varric-Fenris stuff going on and, while we do try to share as best we can, sometimes things slip through and we don't share everything with you guys...
Pfft it was offhand to me lol partially because I could barely understand what Dawn was saying, if I was a hardcore Varric fan I'd ignore it. And I do this alot actually like for example when you called us elf jocks and some other stuff about us not taking over Varric thursdays, I understood that as a joke, and sure as a challenge but I didn't storm the thread all pissed off and mad at you guys because you said it it was only in jest, and even if you were being serious I would've just shook my head and left.
As for coming over to the Varric thread, I glance around at times to see what you guys are talking about but meh it has nothing to do with Varric but just like the one chick prefers the vibe over there than here. You guys are really close knit and the general impression is that nobody is going to talk to you...ever.

Italian, Spanish and most other languages, including English, derived from Latin. It is also known as a dead language, which is why I thought it would be cool if they loosely based the Tevinter language from it. Sort of fitting. I'm just thinking to myself though. And I'm not quite certain but I believe AC was a mixture of both Latin and Italian. According to the Latin books I have and the phrases I've checked into, that is.
Back to Fenris love, though. I'm just a diehard Ezio fan....because of his friggin voice.
I'm open to PM's about Ezio and AC.

I'm interested in the statement from the wiki that some Elves gave themselves over to slavery in order to provide for their families. (probably not the exact phrasing, mind you) That would be a super 'awww' moment if it was learned that Fenris had done so. And wasn't it talked about before...how OLD he might be? Were there any guesses?
That's a great question.
Does that lyruim give him some sort of enlonged life you think? Or would it shorten it, like the taint?

The Battle of Vienna is responsible for making breakfast great.
But yeah, I've thought of that too. I'm not sure how close the parallels are because I'm not nearly as down on my Dragon Age lore as I am with the real world history.

It might be unfair of me, but I do tend to think there's a difference between asking silly but potentially informative questions and mindlessly self-indulgent meaningless questions.

Just stating my preference in terms of what I think would be an important question to speculate over/get a response from David Gaider on. Whether or not Fenris survives Dragon Age 2 is something the game itself will have to answer and we can't actually know without playing the game - unless we actually want to be that spoiled.

What's funny (at least to me) is that it feels as if this thread is a little more cliquey (for lack of a better word) than the Varric thread...But, that impression can feel like it's been reinforced by the speed of the thread.
Feel free to jump in over there...we don't bite and we have come up with some nice stuff involving both characters.
