Fenris says nothing nor do I expect him to. How I envied him for being so calm. I had yet to find the words needed in order to thank him for all he has done for me; things he did without knowing and others without even trying. His presence gave me comfort, the determination in his eyes giving fire to my own. What a pitiful creature I am for wallowing in my own self pity when he has suffered more than I ever will.
Strange how he always seemed to find me when the sadness felt as if it might break me.
This was a very nice interlude. Quiet, peaceful, and meaningful.

But if I couldn't romance Fenris at all, and he always
got together with some other character... that would be a hard sort of
slap in the face, just because I haven't found a character this
intriguing since... since I don't know when. Probably Gann-of-Dreams in
MotB, seeing as he was one of my favorite romances ever.
they
did it once, I mean in Baldur's Gate when Haer'Dalis started romancing
Aerie and poor charname was stuck with Anomen, that was so irritating [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/pinched.png[/smilie]
But some rivalry between fem Hawke and Bethany or Merrill would be very interesting
Huh... that's true, I'd forgotten. <_< That truly was irritating!
I am a jealous wench, so I think it will take me a few playthroughs to get desensitized to Fen enough to really enjoy letting someone else have him. At least one, possibly 2 or even 3 depending on how much I like his actual personality, whether he's romanceable, and if there are two romance paths. (If he isn't romanceable, I'll probably let go sooner and just hit on Sebastian, Varric, "Anders", or whatever Bann Teagan equivalent might exist in the DA2verse. Although, it's hard to think they'd design someone that cool-looking and then be like, "CAN.NOT.HAVE." Like Thane, it's difficult to imagine that being accidental.)
*chuckles* I still remember my playthrough of Drakensang 2... when Jakon got all bashful and infatuated with that elven herbalist, well... my reaction can be summed up with this very special smiley:

And the next half hour consisted of me occasionally shouting something that rhymes with "spore," causing no end of amusement from the person to my left.

@Wynne: That's pretty flippin
awesome that Wynne is your actual name I have nothing else to say other
than you win Wynne for being awesome. ;p
Also it kinda
frightened me earlier when I went to the store and saw a jar of nutella
on sale and thought immediately of this thread...*sigh* time to take a
break from the forums for awhile lol
Thank you.

It was actually the only name my parents could agree on... they kept making lists that the other hated, but the only name for a girl that they liked was this one! So here I am.
It's a good geek-ometer now--if I tell someone my name and they dare to say, "Oh, hey, like the Dragon Age character?" then I've made a new friend!

*lol* And yeah, when visions of DA2 are haunting you at the supermarket, that's when you know it's time to take a break.
The nightmares we all have about drowning in a sea of Nutella are also pretty scary, but if you stare at the Fenris swivel a.k.a. hipnotoad long enough, then it goes away. Right, guys? Right? *searches for a pretending-to-be-loopier-than-usual smiley*

Oh, no, I wasn't being very hard on
myself. Everyone else's version of Fenris is... very different from
mine, I suppose, so I figured he'd come off as "boring" to most.
Otherwise, I'm quite proud of the piece, and I'm glad everyone enjoyed
it.
You should be proud. And I didn't find him boring at all--while I enjoyed Tashash's wolfish interpretation of Fenris too, I actually picture him as being more quiet and pensive than some folks seem to, so "Tokens" fit very well with my tastes. I like the thoughtful, honest, deeper-than-the-surface type more on the whole (except in a few odd cases, like KotoR 2. Boy, did I ever prefer Atton to Mical! Mical just sent me brother vibes.) And I hope Mama Hawke is similar to how you wrote her, too.

I would flip if your family reacts to your LIs. That would be
so fun on
so many levels! Your sibling teasing you or giggling with you, your mother offering her wisdom or warning you that that one's trouble... I fervently hope they went that route.
I love that you chose to write him talking with Leandra instead of Emaline; it gave an interesting view of the relationship that felt natural and warm.

This was very sweet, and without a hint of being sappy, which is awesome. I love the slightly tomboyish way you wrote Logan; she seems like kind of a free spirit, very at home in her own skin. I like that.

Oh boy Fen and Sten:
Fenris: There is noting like a good cookie.
Sten: (munching on cookie) Agreed. Parshaara, there are none left. This must be remedied.
Fenris: Very well let us seek out more.
The fastball special was good, but this is even better.

Oh, if only we could have them both in our party at once!

Can you imagine Fenny and Sten making cookies themselves? Flour, dough dirty dishes everywhere!
Fen: How much flour do we need?
Sten: I can't read these (insert Qunari swear here) directions, just dump it in
Fen: We can't do that, we must follow directs
Sten: give me that flour bag
Fen: No, let ME do it!
(Flour bag flies in the air, lands on Sten, Flour flies everywhere)
(Door opens, Hawke walks in with his/her mouth open)
Hawke: What the...?!?!
Fen and Sten: (in unison) HE did it!
*lol* Nice one!
THERE MUST BE MORE! *hops up and down*

too much off topic, now back to
Fenris and his fear of high places: I think that'd be a little out of
character. I think fear of closed and/or dark places is a more natural
reaction to being imprisoned as a slave before (and probably) after the
Lyrium infusion thing. just imagine the potential, specially since there
is a deep roads section in the game.
That is an excellent thought! Very insightful. I can definitely see Fenris with claustrophobia and a fear of being trapped. In fact, now that I think about it, I can't see him without it.
Taking him through the Deep Roads will be
fascinating.
