Doesn't Anora lie and say that she'll allow the warden to support Alistair for the throne, if the warden expresses desire to do so? When you go to the Landsmeet, Anora instead denounced Alistair (and possibly the warden) and instead puts herself as the candidate. I imagine that may rub people the wrong way, if I am remembering this correctly.

Ah - but of course, DA2 & Fenris. Quite related to the established topic - in DA2, we have learned, the companions will have opinions of each other, and unique relationships. Wouldn't it be interesting if there was a foil, or rival for Fenris in the party? Would you automatically (or make it easier to) dislike a character if they disliked Fenris?

Yet when she actually has the power after his death, she lets her father become her regent even though it shows in cut scenes that she's a bit suspicious of his part in Cailan's death.

He has the army and all the political power, and he's her father.

It wasn't "her watch" at all.

While I realize that, I use that twisted logic to justify my Anora-hate.  But I can also respect that other people like her for being a strong woman.

She only betrays you if you betray her.  Anora always backed my play.

Fact of the matter is if Anora isn't Queen by the end of Dragon Age Origins, she's locked up in the tower.  There is no way she doesn't see that coming, and has a lot riding on what happens.  Her freedom as much as her power and the fate of Ferelden at large.

I don't know who Anore is but I am pretty sure this thread is about Fenris.

I wouldn't automatically dislike someone who disliked Fenris. But if they're too rude or keep talking about how much they don't like Fenris, I will probably get very irritated and Hawke might get mad...

I don't think I'd automatically dislike a character because they disliked Fenris. I mean I liked Morrigan and Alistair and I'm pretty sure they hated each other lol.

I hope that some of the companions don't get along. It definitely made for some funny dialogue in origins. If Fenris is as brooding as I picture him, I think he'd have some funny lines/conversations when he's being antagonized.

Hah, so did I.
You know this is one of the reasons why I'm excited for DA2. Even more interaction between the party members! In DA:O, it could essentially be like the party members never interacted if you didn't bring them along on the road. But DA2 seems to get rid of the problem. Splendid.

Hard to guess since we know so very little.  I keep trying not to build him up in my head as a character, but I can't help it!  I *think* he'd probably wave it off, but I can picture Isabella prodding/teasing him about something and maybe him getting annoying.  I just think bickering companions are hilarious.

That's my feeling on the matter. If there was another companion who rubbed Fenris the wrong way I'd be tempted to take them both with me everywhere so that I can see some more table-slamming moments from him. :D

The banter was indeed awesome, so it'll be interesting seeing everyone walking around Kirkwall living their own life and talking with the other characters. I'll so be bothering Fenris the most, while he's at his homebase meditating.

Yeah like when Nate called Velanna a terrible person and said her ears were clownish, or Morrigan and like the whole cast XD

Anywho, Doctor, how do you manage to write so well?

I take what I know about the characters and how they speak and run through what I want them to say and do in my head while typing. Usually it turns out to be pretty good.

On the subject of Anora. I liked her character quite a bit. With the whole Loghain as regent issue I look at it like this: Anora holds a deep love for her country and clearly knows how to rule, but she's hamstrung by crippling doubt in herself. She's been married to a rubbish philandering excuse for a king (Cailan) (who was going to dump her because she hadn't produced a heir) and she turned out to be the one who was handling all of the affairs of state at the time.

Flash foward to after Ostrogar and Anora has to lead a country that only knows her as Anora the Childless Queen, not Anora the skilled politician, so what does she do? She places her father Loghain in the position of regent in hopes that he'll be yet another figurehead that she can rule behind like she did with Cailan. It doesn't work out that way, and we know what happens next.

That's why I can't hate Anora, the poor woman's been thrown around and used by people who could care less about her (Loghain truly cares about her, Howe was the brains behind that bit) and as a result is suspicious of the motives of others. What she needs is someone who cares about her and believes in her ability to rule, not someone who sees her as just a queen who sits on the sidelines. Part of the reason why I can't play a F!Cousland is because I can't stand to see such a fantastic character just get dropped like that.

The banter in origins between Leliana and Sten comes to mind a bit when I think of Fenris.

Leliana: I saw what you were doing back there.

Sten: Oh?

Leliana: Don't play innocent with me.

Sten: What are you talking about?

Leliana: Outside, you were picking flowers!

Sten: ...No, I wasn't.

Leliana: You were!

Sten: ...They were medicinal.

Leliana: You're a big softie!

Sten: We will never speak of this again.

Leliana: Softie!

and

Sten: Stop that.

Leliana: (Giggles) Stop what?

Sten: That. Looking at me and giggling.

Leliana: I can't help it! You are so big and stoic! Who would have thought you'd be a big softie?

Sten: Stop saying that. I am a soldier of the Beresaad. I am not a "softie."

Leliana: (Giggles) Softie.

Sten: ...I hate humans.

I think that Fenris would probably react in the same way. Irritated with funny dialogue.

That would be an interesting dynamic and no I would not automatically dislike them. As long as it does not interfere with my "mission" I tend to enjoy companions who do not get along among themselves. It makes them more believable for me.

-skips over the Anora topic; keeps opinions to self-

I'm planning on making a belt like his soon, once I get more money to buy stuff from Hobby Lobby. ^_^

-tries to think of a fenris-related topic we haven't talked to death- OOH, what type of drunk do you think he'd be? How do you think the lyrium helps him in battle? Would kissing him for too long make you lyrium-addled? Is his hair really white, or just 'clear' that appears white when light reflects off of it?

We need more Fen-formation v_v
