Anywho, Doctor, how do you manage to write so well?
I take what I know about the characters and how they speak and run through what I want them to say and do in my head while typing. Usually it turns out to be pretty good.
On the subject of Anora. I liked her character quite a bit. With the whole Loghain as regent issue I look at it like this: Anora holds a deep love for her country and clearly knows how to rule, but she's hamstrung by crippling doubt in herself. She's been married to a rubbish philandering excuse for a king (Cailan) (who was going to dump her because she hadn't produced a heir) and she turned out to be the one who was handling all of the affairs of state at the time.
Flash foward to after Ostrogar and Anora has to lead a country that only knows her as Anora the Childless Queen, not Anora the skilled politician, so what does she do? She places her father Loghain in the position of regent in hopes that he'll be yet another figurehead that she can rule behind like she did with Cailan. It doesn't work out that way, and we know what happens next.
That's why I can't hate Anora, the poor woman's been thrown around and used by people who could care less about her (Loghain truly cares about her, Howe was the brains behind that bit) and as a result is suspicious of the motives of others. What she needs is someone who cares about her and believes in her ability to rule, not someone who sees her as just a queen who sits on the sidelines. Part of the reason why I can't play a F!Cousland is because I can't stand to see such a fantastic character just get dropped like that.
