To be fair, this is all a matter of opinion, but the way Fenris reacted by Anders simply flirting with Hawke put a bad taste in my mouth. If I discovered that my lover was going around saying things like that to perfectly harmless men, I'd be put off. It shows insecurity in our relationship, and I assume trust is one of the first things that will have to be built with Fenris before you even go on to having an actual relationship with him.ceruleancrescent wrote...
And I suppose possessive can be taken as that way, but I looking back I suppose that's not the word I meant, I meant more...protective I suppose, Like the little banter that someone wrote beforehand envolving Fenris and Anders and confronting Anders on his flirting with Hawke and Fenris saying "she's mine, back off".

I agree. I like my freedom too.

I thought that DG said somewhere something about him brooding.
Then I'd be wrong. Still without such a quote I'm not quite getting that vibe. Granted, David Gaider did just say "more stoic" in the context of describing another character the concept of a stoic person leads me to picture on who is self-controlled and confident.ceruleancrescent wrote...
Well, first he would flinch-- because his markings are quite painful, and doubly so when they're touched. His first instinct might be to punch someone who touched him, though he'd probably hold back if he realized it was Hawke.
Then he would brood.
So he did. Anyway, not entirely sure what impact that has on his character unless he's going to be teased by Hawke with consistency.

-sigh- I meant the fan-girls are passionate, obssessive and possessive over Fenris, people.
The day Fenris is associated with Edward Cullen is the day I'm throwing away the computer, giving up on society and running away to live in seclusion in the mountains.

Stop fetishizing things that could potentially be a sore spot for him. An ex-slave would not take calling someone else a slave (even in the most "romantic" of contexts, though that's hardly romantic) or possessing them. It's just not something that would happen, and it's certainly not something to get your knickers in a twist over.

I reeeeally hope he isn't actually like that. Please no.
I would rather Fen not act like an angsty teenager throughout the entire game, thanks.
*still trying to figure out how someone can be Angsty, Possessive, Passionate, and Brooding all at the same time while having the background of an ex-slave*
My brain hurts.
whoa whoa whoa whoa....that got taken so far from what I meant it's not even funny. I should have been more specific or have said nothing at all.
I don't think there's anything wrong with being passionate so I'm not going to address that.
I suspect, based on his past, he's going to be somewhat angsty, I'm not talking extreme twilight or whatever you want to do, but periodically I supposed he may be angsty (in general) but not all the time, as long as it was in context.
We've already been told he may/probably/will brood at some point based off of the fact that his lyrium branding is painful, so at some point I suspect he will brood.

I just thought all of those things being present at some point was appealing as long as it fit....
I did not meant it at all the way it was perceived....and I'm somewhat embarrassed....my bad

I had a feeling Hawke would probably either get punched or get threatened with getting her hands cut off.

You're going to have to define or refine some of your terms there...Angsty tends to have a rather teenagery (dare I say "twilightish") definition right now, so saying that you hope he's angsty tends to bring to mind things like sparkly vampires and Dawson's Creek. Im not sure what you think of when you think of "angst", but what comes to my mind is a 15 year old writing poetry convinced that no one gets him/her.
I do have to agree with others that it might be difficult for him to be possessive of another person, based on his previous life

Even though this isn't directed at me, when I thing of "angsty" I don't get the teenager feel. Personally, I feel that he would be more...solitary, I guess. I'm not entirely sure how to describe it. Just...the part about how he's in a new place with no friends, it's understandable that he would be distant and closed off. I think that the whole "people don't get me" thing comes into play, for me at least, more in terms of he doesn't necessarily understand people or how to interact well with them because he was a slave for so long. Sorry if that didn't make much sense. I'm having a hard time trying to explain what I mean for "angsty". Maybe i need to use another word?
a feeling of dread, anxiety, or anguish.
