The whole ex-slave thing is a red herring. Fenris was the magister the entire time.

Ah! I would love you forever for an Aveline/Fenris pairing! I find myself thinking "get out of my head" a lot when I read your posts  Aveline and Fenris would be a fascinating couple me thinks. I for one would not mind it.

I also think Fenris and Merill would be adorable. Especially after seing one drawn picture of them together. So cute! As you probably can tell I want NPC to be able to romance other people than the PC. It would be nice to see romantic relationships grow among your friends.

This Friday, there's a superhero dress up theme in the evening and I'm going to be Hawke. I know for a fact that I'll be looking around thinking "Where's Fenris?", since my boyfriend said he's dressing up as a Hero from Fable.

The blurb on the DAII page says he used his power to escape, kind of implying that he did it on his own. Or maybe the Magister wanted him to escape...

It does not explicitly imply that he escaped solely because of his own power. I'm sure he did a lot of the leg work, but someone of his unique attributes would probably be kept on a pretty short leash. Whether the magister knew of the full extent of his power is still up in the air, but I doubt they'd be so bold as to leave him under the watch of anyone other than seasoned guards. The guy is a magister for a reason, after all. And Fenris was probably being held in some sort of compound/tower/what-have-you making a solo jailbreak unlikely. 

Perhaps there is a Tevinter Underground Railroad. Maybe the Free Marches is simply a point along the way and that's when he runs into Hawke and for some reason or another decides he's ran far enough.

I'm just stabbing in the dark here, of course, but I think it's an interesting theory.

I've been thinking about this too.  I'm going to throw out the theory that he was initially completly loyal to his master.  The memory loss would have made him easy to brain wash.  Then he either began to get some memory back or something happened that made him question his loyalty to the magister.  Escaping may not have been very difficult if the magister wasn't expecting it.  Though I am wondering how he managed to keep a low profile until he got to kirkwall.  You would think even the noobiest bounty hunter could keep up with a shiny shoeless white haired elf.

Sorry if this was said before, I can't keep up with this thread!

Oh Experimental, your Hawkette is simply amazing  If we get options to add scars and the like in character creator, I am definitely opting for an eye scar.

Great minds think alike, ya know how it is  For Merill, I'm kinda hoping she will have a thing with Carver (if he survives, of course) Not that Merill and Fenris wouldn't be cute together, but personally I just like the idea of a mixed race relationship  Whatever the writers have planned for our companions, I'm sure will be more mindblowingly amazing than anything I could ever come up with.
