Something weird just happened.
Fenris's face showed up randomly on my computer when I logged out of my school website.

I am beginning to doubt your name.

Sorry, I just had to make that crack... Loved yours, by the way! That got a good out-loud guffaw and a cheer out of me! ("I'd choose or.")

The first thing that popped into my mind after reading this comment was this www.youtube.com/watch
../../../images/forum/emoticons/lol.png I
watch way too much family guy, I'm always saying to people "Hey this is
like that episode of family guy where [fill in the blank]
happens.

I had a neighbor like that; around 45-50 years old. Ugh, she was seriously one of the most evil people I've ever known, but not "serial killer" evil, just in that really petty, prissy, controlling, tense, annoying way. It was only later that she progressed to actual minor law violations. Harrassment, threats, complaining at community meetings about our air conditioner making too much noise when she's on her terrace, holding down the door buzzer as long as she could even when we came to the door, several occasions of her dogs biting my guy's ankles when he was doing nothing but walking past. 'Course, that's not even mentioning the slander--she loved to tell people that others were complaining about things that only bothered her. She was harrassing pretty much everyone in our apartment block, but we got it the worst, living right below her. Eventually she left, but if she hadn't I know it would've progressed to legal action. Our lawyer said we only needed one more incident to make a case.

Man, bad neighbors are the worst. Even now I feel a sense of general well-being and fulfillment just from her not living here anymore. *suddenly feels very random*

Oh, I know. ^_^ I'm just really still appalled that people could ever compare him to that stalker.
I'm
ashamed that I was ever a Twi-hard. at least when I was, though, I had
the sense to realize that Edward was an abomination.

*hugs* It's okay. We all like questionable things when we're young and then get embarrassed when we're older. I was super-uncool in grade school because I didn't like the New Kids on the Block, but I still had my embarrassing interests.

The one thing I'm still not embarrassed about is liking the novels of L.J. Smith, because her vampires were actually kinda scary (except for Stefan, because he was almost a fluffy kitten of a guy who fell in love with a strong-willed girl, which made the age difference between vampire and human actually seem not-creepy.) And the Forbidden Game series--man, that was cool. More in the spirit of Ray Bradbury's "Something Wicked This Way Comes."

I just wish more "Twi-hards" were aware that the Vampire Diaries is not a copycat of Meyer's work, but in fact L. J. Smith wrote her vampire/human love story a decade before Twilight was a glimmer in Meyer's eye.

Still, I do sometimes have to wonder why the girl can't be the vampire and the guy human. Meh. If I ever wrote a vampire novel for teenage girls, that's how it would be. And the guy would be nerdy. Full on librarian-slash-computer-genius nerdy, with dress shirts and sweater vests and glasses. Like Vincent from Silent Hill. And if not nerdy, or if more badass than nerdy, then at least intelligent and neurotic, like sweet Norman Jayden in Heavy Rain... oh yeah. That's good.

Okay, enough about my nerd fetish for now!

As for the Steelers: GOOO PA WOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's my home state and my dad's favorite team! :D I'm not cool enough to care about sports sufficiently to have a favorite team myself, but I care enough to root for the Steelers.

adore Merrill/Fen, however in terms of playing the game that wouldn't
include me -_- But like I said, any stories/fanart I prefer Merrill. So
any pairings are welcome! I mean... there are Fenris/Varric pairings out
there. (Which I oddly liked ._.)

I maintain that Merrill/Fenris must not be, for their babies would be the equivalent of atomic bombs. That much cuteness existing in one place would implode the universe. Think of the universe!!!!

In fact, they probably shouldn't be in the same party together, lest said cuteness crash the game.

Same here... for some reason I like Fenris better with humans. I see them more as BFFs, but I would be open to reading something that got kinda shippy. (And by that I mean I will just as soon as I finish this post!) I love Aveline. Merrill and Bethany we don't really know yet, but that will change eventually of course.

the armor... and the combat... *Was one of those people who was
fascinated by arena combat and thought it was sexy for some reason.*

Believe me, I so totally understand how you feel... I first got that feeling from the "Mark of the Lion" series by Francine Rivers. It's a historical fiction trilogy; the first two books are about a small, plain Messianic Jewess who loses basically everything connected to the life she knew during the siege of Jerusalem, and is taken back to Rome to be a slave to a wealthy family. Atretes, a gladiator from the Germanic tribes, plays a fairly significant role and is one of two main characters in the third book. Fair warning, though--if you're bothered by religious overtones, you may be annoyed at times. The main character's faith is the center of her life, along with her inner conflicts with bitterness, survivor's guilt, and affection for her mistress's brother, as well as her wrenching fear of being sent to the arena for her controversial beliefs (to be devoured by lions, as happened sometimes). If you think the author's religious point of view won't bother you, I'd definitely check it out because it is skillfully written, the characters are pretty well drawn overall, and the romance is beautiful.

It also really makes you feel grateful to live in a society where everyone is allowed to believe what they believe, and to say so. Freedom of speech is such a precious gift. Predictably, after reading those books as a teenager, I loved the movie Gladiator. :)

As to Fenris being a gladiator--I would definitely find that interesting, and it could work, though I'm not really expecting it at the moment.

Madame Rose Crimsynn wrote...

Waaait! What if Fenris wasn't such a good guy before he was branded with lyrium and lost his memory?

I would actually like this. If he were basically a Revan type who was given a second chance. I would vastly prefer it to him having a wife and kids tucked away somewhere because it would blindside me a little bit. The painful, dramatic, "oops, I'm the other woman" thing I'm braced for; Fenris having a bad past, I don't expect.

MagneticDawn, that art is a nice find!

I noticed.. and I digged up one question that I would love him to answer.

As far as Fenris's character, are you happy with the amount of story to him? I'm not trying to dig for how involved he'll be but I know there are cuts made and such that can sometimes take away from a character. I remember there being a scene with Morrigan that you had Aimo draw because it was left out of the game. Do you wish you could add more or do you usually feel satisfied with the way things end up?

We asked what we could call him. Some of us felt saying "David Gaider" was too weird, "David" was too informal", "Gaider" was too formal, and he replied "Grand Poobah would be fine." I'll look for quote later.

According to an online typing test, 41 is the average words per minute score, while 74 is considered secretary level. *sheepish smile* Apparently I type 83.4 words per minute. That's on the first try.

My verbal area's pretty good, but I make up for it by being epically awful at math.

you started your post with a Dutch sentence (My face was: [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/andy.png[/smilie], I did not expect that).

(For those that are curious, I said there: I'd seen where she came from but forgot to say anything earlier; I live in Belgium and I'm studying psych in Dutch, so I of course needed to learn the language. It was difficult, especially in the sense that the verbs split in half and move around and so forth, but I'm starting to get used to it. I also mentioned that the French-speaking people who live here know my pain about the verbs! {French uses verbs in a similar way to English.} Then I said that I've seen a few Dutch-language films; a {good} romantic comedy called "Everything is Love" from the Netherlands {a bit similar in spirit to Love Actually, but that's not really doing it justice}, and a thriller called "The Alzheimer Case" from Belgium {about a hitman with Alzheimer's--but that's not quite doing it justice, either.} Then I said I think it's really nice that we've got a native speaker of the Dutch language amongst us.)

Well, it just hit me that I am really tired... exams are taking a lot out of me.  'Night, folks! Pleasant dreams whenever you may hit the sack. :)

Oh Experimental, your Hawkette is simply amazing ../../../images/forum/emoticons/cool.png If we get options to add scars and the like in character creator, I am definitely opting for an eye scar.

Thank you >///<

I thought it was always strange that alot of people were scarless. You'd think after fighting darkspawn so long that at least a few people would have scars.

But not like Fable where its like "OMGSCARSEVERWHEREHELOOKS90WHENHE'S18ADGFASDKFAJ!"

No.
