I think the thread slowed down because every topic has been discussed at least once Without new info to munch on it's going to go even slower...

I'm actually really happy with the DA2 cast. I don't think I've seen a single character design/concept I don't like so far. Of course, elves are my favorite. >> Which makes me think I should go give the Merrill thread some love xD but I don't want to draw any fanart until her character page is up and I get an idea of what her full armor/costume looks like.

I really like the companions so far, but still sad about no Sten or Zev... Still thrilled though.

Where i live it's almost midnight (without 10 minutes) :PI also come here from time to time and leave my compy open after i come from school (which is at around 3pm). I am studying from my finals and taking a break to read thru the topic

Agreed.  I'm playing Mass Effect 2 right now, and I miss the humor.  So far, everyone seems much more angsty than in DA:O.

I think this one is different than the first concept art we saw. And maybe they are pretty much up to scale now...

Agreed.  I'm playing Mass Effect 2 right now, and I miss the humor.  So far, everyone seems much more angsty than in DA:O. 

I don't know, aside from Aveline and Fenris--who are probably going to have issues to sort through--the remaining cast seems well balanced and not overly broody.  You have Isabela, Varric, and the possibility of 'Anders' for comic relief.  Merrill, even in Origins, struck me as the inquisitive curious sort (not unlike Tamlen, she was just lucky Duncan was around to break the mirror before she got a chance to become equally touchy-feely with it) but she could be a darker character, depending on the circumstances behind her banishment.

We know Seb is out for revenge, but once that goal is accomplished, who's to say what he'll be like?

So it seems pretty balanced to me. =)

Darker characters:
Aveline
Fenris
(Possibly)
Merrill
Sebastian

Lighter characters:
Isabela
Verric
(Possibly)
'Anders'

And depending on how you role your PC (I tend to play light-hearted characters) the scale seems pretty even.

i think the angst gives it that dry kinda humor... if you want interesting humor bring people like mordin garrus or jack.... or zaeed and kasumi if you have them =3

I know what you mean, and I have seen that with Jack.  I guess I just miss the kind of humor that actually makes me laugh out loud, which happened with greater frequency when I played DA:O. 

I like both games a lot, but for different reasons I suppose.

On a random note, I want to see what would happen if Fenris met Jack.  That would be interesting, to say the least.

Maybe a little taller, since the women are staying on they toes
