Alright, how did you do this?

Easily. I got into the beta. I made the character and took a picture.

I need to get one in better lighting-- his eyes are super green actually, but the shot is horrible and makes them look black.

The fact that you can only get one or the other makes me hope that they do have a different personality and story lines which would also make for different interactions with the other party members, .

I don't see why people keep saying that Merrill is virginal, innocent, trusting and naive. She didn't striked me as any of these things in the Dalish Origin.

In one of the Dev diaries she was reffered too as virginal and i guess in my mind virginal is also a likely lead too innocent, trusting and naive

I think you're reading too much on it. Leliana was the 'innocent, virginal, sweet girl' of DA: O and she could be as bad as Morrigan with enough motivation.

Hopefully their personalities will not be interchangeable.
Don't want repeat of Ashley/Kaidan.

I thought Ashley and Kaidan were different.

Before Ilos, they share some of the exact same lines. Right before you land on Ilos, they have the exact same dialog lines. When the Normandy is being shot at by Collectors at the start of ME2, they also have the same dialog lines, and Kaidan is in Ashley's armor.

On Horizon, they again share dialog lines.

I don't want to derail this thread anymore though, you can find the rest of my thoughts here.

Anyway, so far as rivalry with Fenris goes, I get the impression that Fenris isn't one to seek them. He seems to be one to keep to himself. He might deflect some jabs or jokes at him with some wit of his own, but I don't think he'd go looking for trouble.

@: Dhiro: Leliana may have seemed that way on the surface, but she was probably not a virgin (she had a fling with Marjolaine, remember?) and not innocent because of her previous job as a bard taking advantage of people and generally doing shady acts. That said, I get your point.

I see Isabela and Varric winding up Carver soooo bad - hilarity will ensure. I'd think that Carver would get on well with the Mages, seeing as his father and at least one sister were apostates. He might try the ''brother routine'' with FemHawke's LI. And for some reason I seem him being sweet on Merrill................Or maybe Aveline.

I see Bethany as a trickster for some reason.....She'd join forces with Varric and Isabela. Depending on the ''Anders'' companions veiw on Apostates they would either get on well.....or try to set each other on fire.

True but again she started out as a somewhat sweeter person and only took the step too badass with a big of proding from the pc it may be a possibility the same thing can happen with Merrill

I don't want to be the same as Merrill. We don't need a second Leliana. She was easily one of favorite characters, but I trust Bioware to make Merrill a different, new character. Not a Leliana 2.0.

Really? From her facial expression in the screenshots she seemed quite stoic, cold, distant. Playing tricks on someone else may be the game of fools, in her opinion. Maybe easily irritated.

Carver is easily frightened, judging from the screenshots.

David said that in terms of romances he never wants the same thing twice too often. So if the whole team works that way reguarding all characters we should be okay.

And it actually took me about 5mins to make him (which is probably why I'll redo him)... I was sort of rushing because I was scared someone would take the name.
