I think Fenris is reluctantly asexual, scarred and reflexively apprehensive towards anyone touching him. That isn't to say I don't think he'll be an LI, but that a relationship with him will be remarkably non-physical.

*strokes beard* This interests me.

So... this question will sound strange. As you may now, Zevran was the S/S option. In the sex scene he was in the bottom if the Warden was Human/Dwarf and in the top if the Warden was a elf. So... if Fenris is a S/S option, how do you guys think he's sex scene will be?

Non-serious answer - HAWT!

OK Serious now.
Considering the....mechanics a Dwarf would probably top.......Human or Elf could go either way.......But I see M!Hawke as wanting to top.........

Hm, that's a possibility. It'll probably have a sex scene in the end, but maybe he'll be hesitant in accept the, ah, advances of Hawke? :<

Well in this scenario I think letting Hawke touch him at all - in a prolonged, intimate way - would be the so-called "climax" of the relationship and not sex, like the other companions.  That wouldn't make it any less "profound" as it were, as it would represent a significant step forward in intimacy.  But it might be frustrating, for both player and Fenris himself.

More frustrating for the players, I imagine.

We do have 10 years to work on whatever LI is available, though....

How long is that compared to the length of time Fenris was forcibly enslaved and subjected to involuntary body modification, a clear invasion of his personal space?

I mean, if we were talking about - just to make up a deliberately extreme example - a female character whose background included rape and kidnapping, would "it's been ten years" be a legimate counterpoint to the assertion that her experiences may have left her scarred?  That's all I'm saying.  It's a possibility given his background.  I obviously don't know anything about Fenris.

Hmm. That could be stupid or beautiful, depending mainly of how the relationship was constructed. The idea seems nice, though. Of course, people probably touch Fenris in battle a lot, so maybe there's less impact?

This have little importance. Even if Lady Hawke (or Garrett) give in love enough for 10 years, it'll never erase the scars of his experience. It's totally possible that he will come to accept it, in time. The lame part is that we probably won't see most of this, as the time "jumps" in the framed narrative.

Alone, the victim of rape won't accept it. But with the support of his friends, family, etc, she may come to terms with what happened and find herself ready to have a relationship again. It won't be easy, it won't be the same thing and maybe it won't be comfortable, but it's still something.

hmm 10 years..
.....
.....

Can a LI be kept alive for five years?! Just wowowowowow! You might as well get married at the end of the game if you weren't doing something that was hounding on your trial!

hmm... how long would it take to get a person to like you..? 2, 3 years? then it'd be a seven year LI, I'd say five years to get them to like you, then five to magically survive..

-Edit-
Wasn't hounding*

Hmm, it's not that simple. Fenris will probably have a slow paced relationship, IMO. He may only be ready for the first step after the ten years, I wouldn't count marriage for granted. :<

This is why I don't like analogies.  I won't pretend to actually know the pyschology behind rape victims, but I'm going to guess rate of 'recovery' of any sort depends wholly on the person.  The same with Fenris.

*edit*  I just want to add that I'm all for the slow-paced romance for Fenris if that's the case.

I find it unlikely that a warrior and ex-slave in a pre-modern setting would spend the time to wax or shave his pubic hairs.

It's possible. I hope that's not the case though.

Why is that?

Of course, I don't know how it really works for my analogy or for Fenris - I'm simply suggesting that it's very possible he isn't over it and getting over it won't be easy or quick.

Oh, I see.  Sorry.

I think that would be wonderful in regards to his characterization and presents an opportunity for the pc to either be a dick about it, try to help Fenris out, etc.

Now, just for the sheer sake of boredom, and little shameless self-promotion, Don't you wish that Fenris would  say our name?

It's hard to imagine how much can actually happen in ten years, and I agree that recovering from a traumatic experience is completely dependent on the individual, but being as I'm still fairly young, at least for me it feels a long time.

Heres hoping those years with Fenris will be totally awesome. My Hawke will definitely be looking to kick some magister buttt.

That would be a nice change from the normal progress of a Bioware relationship. Talk, kiss, sex, achievement. It feels a lot more real if you have to really work for just a small amount of contact, especially for someone who's been through something like Fenris has.

I think that in Fenris case, the ME 2 romance system can works. As in, you only consumate the relationship in the end. This way the player will see the relationship progressing really slowly until it comes to it's climax. Or course, same way it can be tiring to help someone to overcome a traumatic experience, I suppose some players will give up Fenris because they feel the romance is going too slow, if that's the case.

It's a matter of taste, I guess.

Last I checked there were other topics and forums than ones just about Fenris. Loving the discussion spurred on by Shorts though, 'tis fun to have actual discussions in discussion threads.

hmm.. What about in-relationship arguments? XDDD Some how I would get a kick if my Hawke and Fenris starting suddenly arguing over something like a old married couple! To see how it would work out, for one, and just for the Banter..! XDDDD

Hawke: -says to the taylor- I'll take the red cloth!

Fenris: Oh! Like you don't look like you don't have enough colors of blood on you already

Hawke: And its like you don't have enough feathers on you to call you a chicken!

Fenris: Oh? So you hate these feather's now? What about the one on your neck?!?!

Hawke: I was just thinking that it might be TURNED INTO A QUILL!

Fenris: Fine, do what you want! But don't except any Shinny "two-handed warrior" Elf to show up at your home tonight!
