Hard to judge with so little info (the rivalry/friendship thing)

I thought so, but I might be mistaken.

As my FemHawke I'd give him a wolf carving. Or a backrub....

(I'm a man- don't judge)

Good question..

Maybe the rival-path doesn't conquer the trust-issues. Or maybe he will only trust Hawke and is unable to extent his trust to other people

A nice backrub...or just letting the fingers follow the lyrium-lines... *Yes my mind is in the gutter*

I'm planning on making a mage FemHawke.

Since she's an apostate, even though she is a mage like the ones that enslaved Fenris, she also knows what it feels like to be hunted, and the fear of being caged (in a Circle tower).

I'm hopeful that she will be able to convey those feelings to Fenris so a romance can blossom~

I can see this as a question you can ask him after becoming romantic.

Hawke: *Standing casually with hand on hip* So, where do those tattoos go, hm?

Fenris: *Raises eyebrow* Are you always this blunt?

Hawke: *Grins* Well, yes. Did you expect anything different from me, of all people?

Fenris: *Chuckle* Honestly, no. Not really.

And then it is revealed that he'll romance Bethany.

The inclusion of siblings makes for such interesting sadistic possibilities.

 Dan Lazin did talk about laughing with David Gaider over something that's so mean... and suddenly my blood runs cold. They... they wouldn't, would they? I--no! No! I refuse to believe it. If only because denial makes me feel better. *lip quivers* I will drink and be merry about Fenris while I can!

Nice to see you back, Wynne [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie]  I wish I had your exuberance--got pretty burned on Thane--but I'm...cautiously optimistic.  And no matter what backstory he gets, he's still smoking hot.

*hugs* Great to see you, too! :) I'm doing exams soon and I'm finishing up papers and I have a presentation on Wednesday, but I worked so hard yesterday I just had to have a break, and then I saw the news about Fenris... what a nice close to the day!

I feel with you about Thane, TOTALLY. But I whined extensively to Sheryl Chee about Thane on the Carth Syndrome group way back in the day, and she was kind enough to be diplomatic and she even sounded somewhat sympathetic. As she seems to have a very good grasp of the range of personalities that play Bioware's games, I would trust her to go for bat for those of us ladies who like our hot guys single. I mean, I can take issues, but "I had a whole life before you" isn't so much one of them. I want a guy who wants me for something I have, not because of something he's lost, and that tends to be the kind of character I play. Carth was the exception for me--I liked him with my KOTOR heroine, I felt they worked perfectly and fit great, but he was a special case and finely balanced, with many opportunities to get to know him. Thane... not so much, what with the scanty lines of the characters in Mass Effect 2. :/ In the end I was very unhappy with how they did the romances in ME2.

I'm going to trust David Gaider to not stealth-Carthize Fenris, because he already did Carth and I don't think he likes to repeat elements like that. I think that he can find another way to show emotional maturity in a male character than having had a family and a stable marriage once already.

I also think it would undermine the emotional impact of the oppressed slave part of his history if he had a happy family to go home to sometimes between hard labor. I prefer him missing the chance to have a family and a life, it always being a suppressed regret for him--that I could understand and sympathize with.

I have wondered in the past if I could love an LI more than I loved Gann, and Fenris could be it. I mean, look how awesome Isabela is. I was mostly "Meh" about Morrigan before I played the game and came to love her for her flawed and moving friendship, but Isabela I was excited about from the get-go. Dark, badass, seductive female piratess who is probably available no matter which gender you play--that's a crowd pleaser right there! I think they may've found a sweet spot for companions of both genders. DAO's companions were great, but I think Fenris and Isabela could even surpass them in terms of widespread appeal.

Assuming he is an LI. I mean, if he's not an LI for somebody, that would be sort of a waste of a really gorgeous character design!

He better have a Welsh accent. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/whistling.png[/smilie]

Now, that would be interesting. Ioan Gruffudd, maybe? I like him so much I can even pronounce his name. He has a great voice.

Hmm... the also-Welsh Timothy Dalton somehow seems to be a good fit, and what a fantastic actor. He's even done voice. That would be so awesome, and yet I have to think I'd be confused with images of Mr. Pricklepants from Toy Story 3.

You wouldn't hear me complaining much if they picked Cillian Murphy, though. Wonderful actor. Such a small part he had in Inception, yet he made me really teary.

Btw i made this little thing that says "I am your slave". Which might not make him happy, but it makes fangirls happy, right? [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/lol.png[/smilie]

Far too happy for me to not worry about myself a little. Naw, I'm kidding, it wouldn't be fun unless both people enjoyed it. But how about a "Slaves to Love" one with LadyHawke in the other cuff, just for equality's sake (and the sake of bad puns? ;) )

I
think maybe it's because it's terribly written, has a two dimensional
plot and characters and does the grossest disservice to vampire lore
ever? [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/whistling.png[/smilie]

*hugs Luce firmly* I love you extra much for saying that.

Also, it kinda ripped off the Vampire Diaries, which was much better and at least features a reasonably strong female character. The TV series is even better, though, and not just because of Ian Somerhalder being smoking hot and making crazy eyes all the time. (Although it certainly doesn't hurt!)

I mean... I'm totally on topic. Fenris!

*Flashes on LOTR*

Aragorn: Then what do you fear?

Eowyn: A cage.

*Imagination flashes to DAII with a mage Fem!Hawke*

Fem!Hawke: We're not so different, you and I. We fear the same thing.

Fenris: What do you fear?

Fem!Hawke: A cage.

Edit: That would be such a cool Easter egg.

Edit II: I am SO playing an apostate in the first playthrough.

NO, DO NOT FEED THE MAKER.

HE GROWS EVEN MORE EVIL AND TWISTED IF YOU FEED HIM TEARS AT NIGHT.

(Will anyone catch this reference? I am not sure.)

No - You have to give him a big smile (so much it freaks him out) in order to frighten him with our happiness. Then and only then will he give us what we want.

Scare it in to him.
