The subject of tattoos vs branding?
I think it depends on the context to which Fenris sees the markings. For example, if Fenris saw them as a mark of ownership left by his previous master more than a residual effect of the actual Lyrium infusion, then I'd call it branding.
On the other hand, if Fenris ONLY saw it as a residual effect, then I'd call it a tattoo.
I think it's been hinted that the markings are a traumatizing reminder to Fenris of what he was forced to undergo, but we don't really know in what context, so I guess it's just too early to say whether they closer resemble a brand or tattoo...
Which makes this post entirely useless, but eh. xD

Without talking to her, at least. You'll probably see her, but you won't be forced to speak with her or take her along.
Like Sten.
Ohh thats nice ^^ thx you for the information ^^

Correct.

Tsundere!
lol awww....not even just a little bit?
Fenris: Ugh, I picked you this flower. It's a friendship flower. Companion flower. Whatever. It doesn't mean I like you, okay? In fact, I'll keep the flower. Unless you want it.
... Actually, I would be pretty okay with this, but it'd be pretty exhausting and/or childish if that sort of attitude stuck around for long.
Well not an extreme tsundere attitude but maybe at the beginning, especially because of having amnesia, his past, etc. I would expect it to change quickly, but you know...just a little isn't too bad.
Yeah, I have no problem with him being a little (or a lot, who knows?) standoff-ish at the beginning, but for me 'tsundere' seems to entail a pretty immature attitude, and that's not remotely appealing in possible love interests.May be why I was never able to get into the Morrigan romance, dohoho.
OH...yeah no that's not what I was thinking. I was thinking a bit standoff-ish at first, and then becoming more warm but perhaps snapping or lashing out a tiny bit (not extremely or even moderately) every now and then because of him being unfamiliar or unsure how to deal with his emotions, the situation, etc etc.

Hmm just thought of thought of introductory dialogue
F!Hawke: Are you Alright?
Fenris: Yes, I'm fine, and although I am grateful for your assistance, I could of handled this myself..
F!Hawke: Well, you certainly are talented with that two handed sword..

Can we kill Isabela at all? Cause I don't want any females as my companions. =/
'Cause a Dev said that your companions will visit each other to talk, among other things. The last part got me, ha ha. I don't want any woman (epsecially a lustful woman like Isabela) around Fenris. But other than that I just don't like her character.

Interesting. I hope I don't accidentally miss him on my first playthrough (I almost walked right past Sten).

21. As far as Fenris's character, are you happy with the amount of story to him? I'm not trying to dig for how involved he'll be but I know there are cuts made and such that can sometimes take away from a character. I remember there being a scene with Morrigan that you had Aimo draw because it was left out of the game. Do you wish you could add more or do you usually feel satisfied with the way things end up?
22. How Old is Fenris?
23. In DA:O, companions sometimes reacted when you got involved in sidequests, ie Morrigan was annoyed when you tried to help people, but Alistair usually supported you. Will Fenris make any snarky comments, approve of you helping people, or simply be apathetic?
26. How will fenris will react to a Mage!Hawke?

I actually came across a few complains that people tend to miss Sten altegher and grunted about it. Suppose my trick is just...talk to everyone, even the chicken by the road. BioWare had this fashion about hiding all the clues on people/things around you. I remembered I had to chat with even rat in NWN, and every single person on Taris in KOTOR......

How you think Fenris' child hood was like *if* he wasn't sold into slavery yet?
Do any of you (heaven forbid) that being sold into slavery was the best thing to happen to him?

Hm, interesting. I'm really curious about how you meet Varric and how that first conversation will go.
On a side not, I always laugh a lot when I see your username. Good one!

I think he had a good childhood, with poor, yet stable parents, but then times got tough and they sold him off.. reluctantly though.. heh maybe he didn't want his mom to suffer because of him..

Maybe the mages took him away from his parents since ( i may be wrong ) he can withstand pure lyrium in his body and they wanted to experiment on him.

I just wanted to put out a few things that I was thinking about on my loooong drive home.
Regardless of what his personailty is when we meet him in game, I would find it interesting if-before the lyrium branding-he was not the nicest man. What if he was a real bastard? Also, he had a master, yes, but other than the fact that his lyrium brands hurt now, who is to say that he didn't ask for his new "power"-whatever that happens to be. Could it be that he almost enjoyed whatever work the magister made him do? Maybe he escaped because he no longer cared for the magisters plans...
I'm not completely endorsing any of the things I mentioned...I'm just suggesting things that could be discussed
Though, I do kind of like the idea that he might not be as much of a victim as we all think...
Also, on another note: I can't remember who discussed stoicism at one point, but I find the idea very interesting. I could never really get into my philosophy class (I enjoyed my Ethics and Morality class more), but I would welcome any relevant discussion about stoicism and how it might relate to Fenris...

But how they known that?
What made him so special?
