Before I salt and burn you, I'm going to let you know I haven't had a chance to fangirl in a very, very, very long time.

Salt and burn me? I'm insulted. I assure you, madam, I would taste far better roasted to a tender medium-rare.

*Sigh* No one ever gets the reference. *Shakes head in disapproval*

Supernatural? I've been watching it so that's all I can come up with other than that.

Also, this is the hardest I've fangirled in possibly forever, I promise Gaider and the writers to cry every night for eternity if this pans out with Fenris being an LI. As thanks.

*Hands Squadette a giant plate of fresh cookies*

Madame Crimsynn approves (+100)

YAY! You win!

I'm planning on making a mage FemHawke.
Since she's an apostate, even though she is a mage like the ones that enslaved Fenris, she also knows what it feels like to be hunted, and the fear of being caged (in a Circle tower).
I'm hopeful that she will be able to convey those feelings to Fenris so a romance can blossom~

*Flashes on LOTR*

Aragorn: Then what do you fear?

Eowyn: A cage.

*Imagination flashes to DAII with a mage Fem!Hawke*

Fem!Hawke: We're not so different, you and I. We fear the same thing.

Fenris: What do you fear?

Fem!Hawke: A cage.

*Evil Madame Crimsynn smile*

Oh, jeez, you had to say it didn't you?  I couldn't help myself!

She hadn't meant it as an insult, but he seemed to have taken it as if it were.  One had to tread carefully with Fenris, and careful had never really been her style, unfortunately.

He had turned away from her, his eyes, deep and glassy, were fixed on the twisting flames of the campfire.  His lyrium infused veins, normally just pale under the sun had begun to glow in the falling darkness.  In the dancing shadows it was not difficult to envision him as a being from another world, a long forgotten but persistently alive relic from before history had a name.  That she could have hurt him seemed unimaginable, but...

"I'm sorry," she blurted, "I didn't-"

"There's nothing to apologize for," he barked, "you couldn't possibly understand.  And as...frustrating as that is, I can't blame you for what you've never had to endure.  Perhaps it's better if you just leave me to myself, Mage."

She frowned at him.  He wouldn't look at her.

"I understand more than you might think," there was an old bitterness in her voice that told more than words could, "I've spent my whole hiding from what I am.  Out of fear-"

"What does this have to do-"

"You!  You and I!  We're not so different.  We're both afraid of the same thing."

Now he did look at her, his hard eyes piercing her with an intensity she could barely tolerate.  He advanced on her, agression carved into every step.

"And what do you fear then, Hawke?"

He was close now.  Too close.  Not with all the power in the world could she have broken that gaze.

"A cage," she hissed.  "To be chained and broken.  If that is not something we share, then I have sorely misjudged you."

He was mere inches from her.  He leaned in so his mouth hovered just next to her ear, his hot breath ghosting over her skin as he whispered.

"You must think very much of yourself that you would presume to judge
me."

Violently he jerked away from her and made his way across the campsite to his tent, leaving Hawke with nothing but the fire and her own thoughts.

Very nice, very much how I'd imagine it.

On a separate note, as inconsequential as it may seem, I've realized he probably cannot read. I don't even know why I thought it. *bats away plot bunnies*

It's a very nice fanfic, & you have a very good presentation. But fanficioning Gaider's character's isn't something you should do to gain favor from him.... He doesn't like it when you play with his toys.

Well, I though it was time for me to contribute with something creative and I can't draw so here you go.. I hope you enjoy this little piece. Sorry for the length.

Since the first day they had met he had been intrigued by her, something about her woke a feral desire inside him. At times it bothered him that whenever she called for his assistance he came like a good lapdog without as much as a growl. But for the most part he found that he did not mind. It gave him time to study her and her nice curves. Today he felt slightly peeved after watching her flirt with a young farmer who sold them some herbs. When she smiled and battered her eyelashes, hoping to get a better price, his fist had clenched. When the farmer had blushed and smiled back he had let out a quiet growl and turned his back, trying to cool off.

They had made camp for the evening and his eyes had never left her, like a predator watching his prey. After dinner she walked over to where he was sitting.
"You're awfully quiet tonight." She smiled down at him and he was mesmerized by her smile for a moment.
"Can I talk to you, away from all the others?" He motioned towards the forrest behind him and walked away, confident that she would follow.

Once he was sure they where out of sight from the others he turned towards her and let out a growl, pushing her back against a tree. Before she had time to react she found herself trapped between a tree and the elf. He brought his his face close to hers and whispered, "I wanted to kill that farmer today."

Before she could say anything his lips covered hers with an animalistic hunger and need.

On the way back to camp later Hawke smiled wickedly, thinking of how well her plan had worked.

Now we're talking, pretty soon I'll have to contribute.

Also, as much as jealousy squicks me out IRL...Fenris does seem the type, doesn't he? I think it's the name. Anyway, continue. Please.

I'm porting this theory from another thread to here ::

I wonder if the Tevinter's lyrium experiments on Fenris is in any way related to how the Arlathans (Ancient Elves) became immortal?

We've
already learned that Golems are essentially immortal Dwarves, and the
process involved was the anvil and molten lyrium poured directly onto
them.

Perhaps the Arlathans were only 'immortal' in that they
knew how to inject lyrium directly into their veins? Fenris' tattoos
resulting from the lyrium injection look very similar to Dalish / City
elf tattoos (Who are trying to carry on traditions and lost customs from
their ancestors). Could it be that what the Dalish mistaken as tattoos
was actually the physical consequences of Arlathans injecting lyrium into their blood stream?

Elves weren't immortal because they shot up on lyrium. & what is FFN? (FanFictionNetwork?)

@Aermes Let Gaider take it up with us himself. Tongue wagging in public and making other people feel bad about what genuinely interests them isn't nice and pretty impolite. This isn't a place for criticizing other people, questioning their motives, or insulting them.

If anything, I imagine the creators are quite flattered to have such a large and enthusiastic fanbase. Its what makes the work worth it.

You aren't doing any favors by making other people feel bad for something that is just fine and dandy.

I think it's an interesting theory. I don't really think a Tevinter magister would care a whit about old elven tradition, but then again maybe s/he was just using him as a guinea pig to achieve immortality him/herself. Hmm...
