I confess I haven't been paying enough attention to Merril to know if we've heard her or not. What with how they refuse to confirm her officially yet, I wonder if she's a permanent companion or not. Anders, however, I assumed would keep his VA. Unless Bioware is going to pull a Square-Enix Terra-Xehanort thing where the end voice sounds nothing like Justice or Anders.

I have this irrational conspiracy theory in my head that despite the info embargo being lifted, that there are still a few stipulations flying about. Like no FemHawke VA and no Fenris VA. Amongst other things. How else in all the piles of vids we've seen today could we manage to not hear even a snippet of Fenris' voice?

Eh, maybe it's time I step away and go back to writing my Avatar fic and see what the next few days brings.

I don't think we've heard Merrill's voice, or Anders (despite awakenings, he might have a new voice when he's possessed).  Someone tell me if I'm wrong...

We haven't heard Merrill, Anders, or Fenris, I believe. We have heard a clip from Bethany, and one line from Carver. Isabela we've heard a bit. Varric, as narrator, has been heard a lot. Sebastian is heard in his DLC video. Aveline is heard briefly in the second dev diary.

It's definately Varric speaking, that or they hired a Brian Bloom clone to do Fenris.

Fenris in the party

I missed that one! :OThank youuuuuuuuu <3

@2:03 is that his voice?! I think he says "We should move on". Hawke is next to him so it might be Fenris talking. Sounds goooood!

I heard that too. There was a little dialogue bubble right above Fenris too so maybe that was him!

It could be Varric, though...

Awww i hope it's Fenris! :crying:

Taken from GameTrailers video.

Fenris had a speech bubble over his head, though.

To be fair, I *think* that it's mainly because it's a game.  The whole possessive/overprotective/violent thing works in fiction.  It can be considered hot/sexy and I can see that to an extent, mainly because it's just fantasy and not real.  Whereas if you encounter someone like that in real life, it's different and you decidedly do not want someone like that.  I remember Gaider said something about this that rang true with me.

The short version of that is "people don't fantasize about their boyfriends". ;)

LOL  It's pixel love, not real love.  Anyway I'm gonna go on the assumption that that guy had it coming, until we learn otherwise.

Earlier in the clip, Hawke was standing next to Varric and a speech bubble was over his head. And yet - gasp - he said nothing. I assume it's something akin to a "hey, you can talk to this person right now" bubble.

's ok, Shorts, I'm female and not understanding it really, either.

It's worrisome, more like. I've never been able to keep the 'darker' (for lack of a better term) people in my party in Bioware games, because I'm a candy goody two shoes and can't play dark main chars. The only one I kept around much was HK-47, and that's because he was just hilarious. If Fenris comes out more renegade/dark side/closed fist/whatever, that will be a...damper for me.

But... you kill a lot of people as a Warden.  A lot.  There's no such thing as a candy goody two shoes in these games.  Why would you even want to be?  It's a violent world, and if you want to defend the weak, you gotta get some blood on your shoes.  Or lack of shoes, as the case may be.

*realizes she must be very strange, as she does fantasize about her boyfriend*

._. owell. I never really aspired to be all that normal anyway.

And by good, Addai, I mean a defender, not a tyrant. There's a difference between fighting to protect and defend, and fighting because it tickles you to see people bleed out and die in creative ways. I've always played Light Side/Paragon/ blah blah blah. Not that my characters have an aversion to killing, but they don't enjoy it, either. What must be done, must be done.

Anders voice is out there, on Gameinformer's announcement. Sounds like the same VA.

Merrill & Fenris are still out. I'm still stacking all my quarters and bets on Fenris' VA being from Assassin's Creed. Gaider's whole 'Oh... You'll guess too quickly!' just tells me that the accent is going to be obvious and probably familiar to other incredibly popular games out there currently.

Ser Gaider, since you're here, could you confirm if that line in the Giant Bomb video at around the 2:00 minute mark, "We should move on," is Fenris speaking or not? :)

I'd guess the speech bubble is simply a UI cue for "press button and this character will speak with you" action you can perform, and it shows whenever your character is near enough to someone to initiate it. Similar how you would get icon for opening doors and moving to another area.

To the person you're killing, those probably sound like very fine distinctions.

Anyway BioWare doesn't seem to specialize in homicidal maniacs.  There is usually more nuance.  Though if you recruited Sten, Leliana, Shale, Oghren or Zevran, you still had murderers in your camp.  So what would be the difference if Fenris has a rage problem?
