We know a few things about Fenris' voice:

A) He has an accent different than Welsh, English, or American. This accent would make him obvious pretty fast, so it is the actor's natural accent.
He has done voicework for a major RPG before.
C) Gaider particularly selected him.

Steve Burton does not have an accent. Nor, do I believe, has he done a voicework for a major RPG, unless you count Kingdom Hearts.

So, I'm not sure why David said it was Fenris--that man was speaking with an obvious and distinct American accent.

Except whoever is talking in that video at that moment is clearly very American sounding. They can keep going on about the accent all they want, but that wasn't Varric. In the other video, the line about the flames, that was Varric. This was not Varric. Unless this is supposed to be Carver, it's going to have to be Fenris, accent or not.

Edit: Not that it *has* to be Steve, but it sounds an awful lot like him either way. Someone who can sound like him, if nothing else. My knee-jerk response to that voice was "Cloud Strife".

Well, someone (here, I presume) immediately removed it, because it has not been confirmed. There is nothing in that wiki that they exclusively know. We are the editors. What we know, they know.

Wait, you were referencing the GiantBomb video, not the GameSpot one. Let me listen to see if that's the same scene.

EDIT: Okay. They are different scenes. I can barely hear the GiantBomb voice, so I can't comment. But, is the voice in the GameSpot video Varric? It sure sounds like Varric. It's around 4:40.

Don't always trust the Devs. They speak in riddles no man can properly understand.
I take that as he's warning her to be ready to be disappointed; but not exactly debunking the theory. Unless he outright says 'Steve Burton ain't his VA,' I'm staying skeptical.

It's the same scene I believe...

Fenris' "We should move on" line also sounds American to me... Or maybe slightly English? So I'm assuming the accent he has is so slight that it only comes up every other word or so.
And this also means his VA could pretty much be anyone. It's not hard for a competent VA, American born, UK born or whatever, to put on a very slight fake accent.
