On another note, if Fenris is a LI who wants to bet that if the romance scene is tender that there will be tracing of his lyrium 'veins' by Hawke? /melts from the thought.

It appears whoever is talking is saying "We should move on"--it also looks like the player clicked Fenris, and that was his situational line for that area. The other line (which sounds like it's from an American voice) triggers suddenly after the battle, and is ambient dialogue. Besides the camera angle being different, the monsters being different, the Hawkes are different genders in each video.

Alright, the GiantBomb video where we hear someone talking and the GameSpot video are of different scenes near the exact same location.

Which GameSpot video?

After searching YouTube for Steve Burton as Cloud and listening to Fenris, I'm really thinking it's the same guy who voices Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII O-O
And now, finally listening to it, yes. I agree 100%. If that is not Steve Burton, I shall eat my non-existant hat.
We know a few things about Fenris' voice:
A) He has an accent different than Welsh, English, or American. This accent would make him obvious pretty fast, so it is the actor's natural accent. He has done voicework for a major RPG before.
C) Gaider particularly selected him.
Steve Burton does not have an accent. Nor, do I believe, has he done a voicework for a major RPG, unless you count Kingdom Hearts.
So, I'm not sure why David said it was Fenris--that man was speaking with an obvious and distinct American accent.
Has he worked with Bioware before? Or is it just a major RPG?

EDIT: Okay. They are different scenes. I can barely hear the GiantBomb voice, so I can't comment. But, is the voice in the GameSpot video Varric? It sure sounds like Varric. It's around 4:40.
If it's the "what were those things?" line, that's Varric.
Honestly, I woudn't suggest trying to discern Fenris' VA from such a short line-- especially one that's so hard to hear. It will hurt your brains. But it's your brains, so... knock yourselves out, I guess.

And this also means his VA could pretty much be anyone. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/lol.png[/smilie] It's not hard for a competent VA, American born, UK born or whatever, to put on a very slight fake accent.
I did say his accent was slight, but it's definitely not fake.

Better find one quick. I suggest adding salt. So, wait, I'm curious: The man speaking that video has an American accent, but you said Fenris had a unique accent...I'm...confused.
Wait, you were referencing the GiantBomb video, not the GameSpot one. Let me listen to see if that's the same scene.
It's the same scene I believe...
Fenris' "We should move on" line also sounds American to me... Or maybe slightly English? So I'm assuming the accent he has is so slight that it only comes up every other word or so.

If this doesn't happen and/or Fenris isn't an LI I WILL amend that grievous oversight by including a lyrium vein tracing scene in the Hawke/Fenris fic I am most definitely going to write just for your pleasure. :3

Probably the best question to ask. Probably won't be answered because it might give away too much.
If he worked with BW before, I'm going to say Zbryski. Dunno why.
Hey, Pally, did you play NWN?

Considering he doesn't like to be touched? And seems to have some rage issues...
My Hawke's more than willing to give him a nice wide berth.
If anyone touches anyone first it'll have to be Fenris. Hawke's not taking the risk of a hand ending up in the chest.

*eating Jayne Cobb's hat*
That said, I still contend that it sounds an awful lot like him, which is not a hard feat. It's not as if Cloud had some difficult tone/accent to him anyway.

If he IS an LI, and it DOESN'T happen, I will learn how to make scenes for DA2 JUST to make it happen. <3
I look forward to reading your fic anyways. Anything with Fen.

Now we can really start narrowing down VAs... We can definitely rule out Roger Craig Smith aka Ezio, for one thing.

Ohhhh, why must you do this? Why must you melt my heart with constant imagery!
If Fenris' markings are specifically painful, I wouldn't want this to happen because I don't want to hurt him... But if it's less of a discomfort and more of an adversion, I could see how tracing Fenris' markings as a demonstration of how much he trusts Hawke. Very intimate. Very tender. I love it!

Okie dokie. *Starts crossing names off the VA list.*

Hawke: Uhhh..sure.
Merrill: It's Saturday! I love Saturday! Because there's cartoons....
Hawke: Haha...Yeah, cartoons.
Merrill: And no school!
Hawke: Do what, now?
Merrill: My social studies teacher is sooooo lame!
Hawke: Maker, I'm going to prison. Then to hell.
Scene 2:
Hawke: Uhhh.... Fenris?
Fenris: Yeeesss?
Hawke: I know it's kind of a touchy subject, but what kind of slave were you?
Fenris: We'll talk about that later. Can you tighten those straps around my ankles a little more please, hun?
Hawke: Oookaay.
Fenris: Thanks! Now put in the ball gag. Remember! The safe word is Nug!
Scene 3:
Hawke: Ahh my beautiful Rivanni rose! How ever did manage the fortune to be with you?!
Isabela: Um....why are you still, here?
Scene 4:
Hawke: .........
Bethany: .........
Hawke: Soooooo......I hear that movie Star Wars was kinda cool.

If its not Ahnold as the voice, Im holding out hope for the first Newf voice over. Allan Hawco from Republic of Doyle would be a fine voice over (granted, he doesn't follow any of the tidbits that Mr. Gaider laid out for the thread, but still)
