I usually get stuck to only one love interest anyway, so as long as Fenris is in, I'm good. I will cry sad tears for either the Anders or Varric lovers if one is eliminated from the love interest pool. I know how sad I was when I heard I couldn't romance Kaidan in ME2 and I ended up romancing nobody, which left my Shepard sad and alone :(

My personal canon FemShep remains single so far... I ignored Kaidan and Liara in ME1 (no appeal whatsoever for me), and I did like Thane and Garrus. Maybe Thane a bit more. But ultimately I see Garrus as a bro and I couldn't get past the dead wife trope with Thane. So I've decided my officially saved for ME 3 FemShep puts duty before romance and has been single throughout ME 1 and 2. (But zomg I'm hopeful that the sniper in the ME 3 trailer is a squadmate because I would romance him so hard! :o - but sadly I hear he's just a random dude)

Edit: and I don't think we're having a LI war. We're having a rather
civil discussion on the topic, imo. I am finding it nice that it's gone
so well. A calm laying out of rationales on all sides. Not like we have
anything else to go on about yet. No more voice clips today. :P

Friday's almost here!

Gaider wrote Cassandra, Fenris, and Meredith in Dragon Age II

Someone said Lord Gaider wrote Bethany, but he didn't; he wrote these three o.o just thought I'd say/show this [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/blushing.png[/smilie]

I'm gonna say it. Fenris is a shoe in for a romance.

Didn't Gaider say he wrote a romance?

[/quote]XD yeah. It seems so, so far

Seeing Garrus as a bro only is what ultimately deterred me from his romance even moreso than Thane's presence. In my head-canon, he is firmly affixed as Taelryn Shepard's bro/BFF and his snarky matchmaking attempts amuse her to no end. No, I have no fanfiction, stop looking at me.

...*misses talking about ME with people*

To attempt to not be offtopic: Friday is close, you are correct. And with it my last week of actual time to myself. I got a fulltime promotion and it kicks in next week. I am... ambivalent about Friday. Friday brings streaming of game. It may bring us more Fenris voice, or more LI news. Friday also hearkens the end of actually having time away from that hellhole I call a job.

Well,  since Merrill and Varric share a writer...and one of the other major writers from the previous games also has a companion...if they kept it split between them,  it looks like it'll be Anders/Fenris....

But it really seems likely for Fenris with this new evidence, right?

Yeah. Pretty likely Fenris is one of the LIs.

*crosses fingers and hopes he's the bi option*

Squee! As long as I have my Fenny as a LI, I'm cool. Anders would be nice (And he does appear to be a likely canidate for romance) too.

It makes me sad that Varric couldn't be a LI if it were indeed Fenris/Anders. He's such an awesome character :(

I did but I am not sure, I could not find a quote. The wiki is incomplete Lukas Kristjanson is listed only for Aveline but he also wrote Carver (confirmed on this forum)

 I found this:

GZ: What have you learned from the feedback on the romances from the first game that you’ve now taken to the second game?

DG: I don’t know, but there’s a lot of feedback for us. I’ve done a number of our romances, going back to Baldur’s Gate II. I always like to try something new. Origins was really quite in depth with the characters and the romances in particular. From what we get from the fans, there were a lot of people that the romances were more important to them than the story, which is great. It’s very gratifying to hear that. There’s only so much we can do, but I think trying out some different things like DAII takes place over a large span of time, and I always found that the romances can be a bit strange and that they don’t grow organically. It’s sort of a situation where you’re in this life-or-death adventure, you’re comrades that have been thrown together and passion springs out of that. It was nice to get the opportunity to have a romance that took place over years as opposed to a month at best. That was interesting to try, until I learned.

I still do not trust it! To paraphrase Captain Reynolds, they spin me about. No, not until they tell me. No no.
