I really, really want Emery as Fen's VA...his voice is swoon-worthy. But he's worked with Bioware before, and I think Gaider said the VA hadn't worked with them. Sigh...

So he really said the VA hasnt't done Bioware work before? I suppose that would make sense, considering Gaider's comment that this was a VA he was surprised he was able to get.
Probably not Mr. Emery after all, folks...
Edit: And in that facebook post he was most likely referring to ME 3 or TOR.

Fenris has an accent. It's a bit unusual, but I'm not going to say what
it is or you're likely to pinpoint his VA in about 30 seconds. And we
can't have that.

I wonder if the guy who's voicing Fenris has been in any other well known RPGs

Yes, he has. But I'm not sure what that tells you

It's not a strong accent, but it's definitely an accent. Beyond
that, I'm not really going to give anymore hints. You may just have to
wait to hear him to find out

No. Gaider said he hadn't worked with the VA before, doesn't mean the VA hasn't done bioware work. I imagine Gaider only works with VAs who are specific to important characters in the storyline. For the most part, Emery has only done small roles.
Ontop of that, Gaider has said before he wanted to work with Emery one day, after the fact Emery still had Bioware tacked on his resume.

The "has been in a well known RPG" is what I picked out while going through the thread. Final Fantasy 12 would count, yes?

I'm talking about using an elf twice as the bisexual love interest. They migh try to avoid typecasting, avoid exactly the thing you said, "The whole idea that there's something intrinsically gay about an elf just bothers me."
But just acknowledge that there's "typecasting" there is what bothers me. It wouldn't matter if Fenris and Zevran were both elves. No one would say anything if they were both humans. Or maybe they would, I don't know, the amount of importance that people put on race is truly staggering, sometimes.

How long ago did Gaider actually say he wanted to work with Emery, anyway? Was it before DA2 was announced?
Edit: Just tracked down some Gaider quotes from 2009 in this thread:
"He sounds interesting. The only voice I've heard lately where I immediately thought "Oooh! Romance guy!" was Gideon Emery."
"David Gaider, is this... almost a hint?" (from Lucy)
"Not at all. All I'm saying is when I heard his voice, I thought he
might make a good romance character -- for the future, perhaps."
