No, but I'm hoping it's not too late in the game. All I know is we can potentially skip him if we feel like it. But, you know, who'd do that?

@RosaAquafire, we know Anders will come pretty early, pretty much as soon as you arrived in Kirwall. My guess is Aveline will be before Kirwall, so she will be first. TGP mentioned it once both Issie and Fenris are 'you could miss him/her' kind of opportunity. Humph....I will presumed Varric will be sometimes after Anders, but not sure whether it will be before Issie or Fenris.

That seems almost to early for Anders to show up, unless it takes you a year or two to get in the city..

But... if Anders comes as soon as you arrived then he couldn´t be possesed just yet since you flee Kirwall during the blight and Awakening is supposed to be 10 months later... right?

I wonder if it may or may not have something to do with the fact both characters are BI optional. Zevran and Leliana were the same way.

If I missed Fenris and couldnt get him...

To talk about something other than Emery for a moment while our information is at a standstill, here -- do we know how far into the game it is before Fenris joins us? I always thought it hurt the characters in Origins you don't get until later, especially Zevran. I want to get into the character right away ... by the time Zevran came along, there wasn't room in my party on my heart.

Well I think that most of the characters in DAO where recruited according to your preference (Zev was an exeption though) I think that will have the chance to recruit them with the order that we want with no exeptions this time, however we will have restrictions as with DAO in order for a smooth gameplay you had to pick Wynne first in order to have a proper healer (that wasnt the case if you were the healer or if you adjusted Morrigan to be the healer, someething i didnt do because it was so unlike her to use healing spells! lol)

Um...no, you get siblings, meet Aveline, a sibling dies, then you fight ogre with living sibling and Aveline. And Varric comes in somewhere.

3. Anders (Refugee camp, so assumed Lowtown)
4. Varric (Tavern, so assumed not Lowtown).
5. Issie/ Fenris/ Basti.
6. Issie/ Fenris/ Basti.
7. Issie/ Fenris/ Basti.

I think we'll get Merrill during a mission of some sort, maybe she's a temp. companion at first who we can then ask to be a perm. companion?

EDIT; I'm also holding on to the hope that we'll can attack some slavers/bounty hunters and we find Fenris in a cage and can either free him or leave him.

yes there is  that but what if they get there and are now allowed in they might have to do things on the outside to get in.
