That bring back to an old question: What's the 'hook' in Fenris story? Should we complete something similar to Morrigan's 'Dark Ritual' to prevent Fenris' death or should we watch him die?

I remembered TGP said every member in DAII have one this time, So...

I hope we don't have to do anything really bad to save Fenris (or any party member, really) because I'm not sure I could do it. In Origins the consequences of the Dark Ritual are not immediate and, who knows, maybe Morrigan really is trustworthy. But I'm not sure my character could intentionally harm innocent people to save someone on the squad. That would definitely be a hard choice.

True, I only have 2 endings where I took that one (1 Alistair romance, other Zavren), all the others end with my warden dead - I just can't let Alistair kill himself.

In my first game, my female Amell romanced Alistair and I when I suddenly got the chance of both of us surviving I took it without even thinking..

Now that my warden has had her "happy ending" I think I'm going to load the last save file and sacrifice her (mostly out of fear of the impact the whole Morrigan/god-baby thing will have on DA2 and further games..)



On another subject.. I've listened a bit to Gideon Emery's voice and *swoon* I really hope you guys are right and he's Fenris' VA.

@tankgirly yes I said I have done it 2 time - Ones with my Blood Mage, ones with my HN, my Dalish didn't want any part of it, nor did my goody Circle mage and so on. I have 12 complete Da:O - and 2 DA:A - my HN ended killing Morrigan in WH - boy did I feel guilty for that XD

Waow..how throughout are you with those games?
I've only completed one single playthrough (and a lot of half-finished), because I'm a crazy completionist, which makes Deep Roads hell in Thedas..

Regarding fen, I really hope we won't be forced to choose between him and friends/family (as in some big sacrifice like the warden had to do). It would break my heart having to choose.

@dirtsa90 all but 5 of them are all Chanter's Board, Blackstone and all but 1 of the Interested Parties quests. Last 5 where a little more rushed XD



I am almost afraid that with Anders possibility of dieing, there is be choices for some of them to survive or sacrifice something so they can live. With Fenris I am not sure, but really really hope we can keep him safe

Has Fenris been confirmed a LI yet? ;^; So desperate to know since Aveline was said (in an interview) not to be romanceable. So the guys pretty much have their LI known.

I'm a little worried since Mr. Gaider has stated he doesn't believe in a happy ending and that he did work on a LI. And that is Fenris D: Soooooooo .... Nooooooo! I want my happy ending with that lyrium elf!

Wow...some of you women are almost as through about origins as I was... I completed 16 play throughs of origins( 5 as a female - 3 HN, 2CE)...and 9 of awakenings( 2 as female... 1 HN, 1 CE)...so I can tell you, I know the completionist feeling( even if I didn't any of the other expansions...).



I salute you ladies for having the will power to play through the game as throughly if not more so than me!

Fenris has not been confirmed. However, it seems quite likely that he's a love interest. Gaider said he wrote a romance in DA2, and the only companion we know he's writing is Fenris. Gaider's has had a history of writing male love interests. Some of the more notable ones were Carth, Alistair, and Fenris.

As for happy endings, I imagine you'll be able to get them...but there will be varying amounts of darkness to them. Or varying amounts of happiness to them, if you will.

With Anders, I think we might have to choice between him and Justice....humph....sorry Justice, in that case you will have to go.

With Fenris, there are dozen of stuff that could happen to him. It all depend on the major plotline and who is the ultimate Elite boss.

Off topic, I played Origin 15 times mostly because I was trying to find a loopholes on Alistair romance (that was before I learned you have to harden him),or trying to bump into Tamlen (which I only succeed once), or bump into Jowan (it was bugged and I still can't bump into him in Brecilian Forest to this day)

 With Awakening, I played them 7 times before I realise there is no way you will complete all the companion's loyaltiy quest (I always missed Sigrun's), or getting Zevran's letter ...

 And I played GoA twice purely for fanfic researches.

Oh, before you tell me the mod and stuff, I am a proud owner of an xBox console, don't think there are mod for xBox. <_<

@Collider, he wrote Valen Shadowbreath and that romance is considering an happy ending one.

But yeah, I love how Gaider writes his characters, but lets face it...the man loves tears! I hope we can at least touch him. I know its been said that he has an 'aversion' to it, not entirely pain. The Dark Ritual was great for my male Warden, but my female who loved Alistair kinda depressing (and if you aren't human, the dumping thing if he is king. Though I was Cousland in most of my playthroughs). Hopefully, we don't lose Fenris or anything.
But I also must say I'm quite pleased with the turn out of male party members. Fenris, Anders, Varric...I would be quite pleased whoever two we ended up with, actually. It'll be a hard choice who I romance in the first playthrough. (Probably Fenris though ;w; ) 
Also saddening about Aveline (though I'm sure a lot of people say it coming since her husband dies). But yeah so the males pretty much know their female LI's. I wish we knew ours.

What I was just about to post.
Valen, was just so perfect *Swoon*, he was the sole reason I picked up HotU in the first place (the only NWN1 game I've have ever played) <3 (also lots of love to Deekin). And his happy ending could be described as sort of "grey", since Valen himself was a grey character. I really, really really hope Fen's romance will be like his.

Even though, he's DLC...there is also Sebastion. So, yeah, I would say the ladies got the lion's share on good looking men in this game( not that I can tell being a man and all). We do know basically know our LIs...even if it's not totally confirmed with Merrill...but atleast you ladies know your bi LI( unless they pull a fast one and switch and make Merrill bi, which I doubt but anything is possible)...

Ehh, this may just be my taste, but I am a lot more excited for Fenris's romance now that I see that he might have questionable morals. As cliche as this type of plot is now, I am a sucker for either romance where though both parties say they hate each other, their actions speak otherwise, or the one where mortal enemies go "No one else can kill you but me" . So I am really hoping that if we can have a rival romance with him, it will be something alone that line.

Hello, finally decided to delurk and actually participate in the forum.



Quick comments:

For ages now I've thought that Fenris looks like a pretty interesting companion. So if he isn't an LI (which will be sad off course) there's still that. Can't wait to see how this whole lyruim thing plays out.

But I don't think Fenris will be the bi LI simply because of Zevran. One bi elf is no problem, two would be boring.

Snow, my reasoning is that Anders has already shown interest in the opposite sex (in Awakening) but none in the same sex. Fenris on the other hand, we have not been given hint officially as to his orientation. And going by DA:O, there will be only one bisexual companion of each gender.

I'm under the same impression as you Collider...except Anders being the bi option...though, as I've said it matters little to me how they worked it out. When I play female Hawke's fenris is her one and only choice...outside of Isabella of course...lol.
