I just had a thought, is it possible for the lyrium to gradually make him lose his mind?
It's not impossible...there's a dwarf merchant in orzammar( the one that sells the 'lifegiver' ring accessory), I think of who was...out of his mind...LOL.

Do you mean the "have you seen my lunch? It was a bit of lichen bread with a bit of cheese on it...." guy. I sold alot of crud from the deeproads to him, heard that line like 80 times.....I don't think he was crazy, perhaps touched in the head, but not crazy. Somehow, I don't see Fenris being that way either.

Off topic, I played Origin 15 times mostly because I was trying to find a loopholes on Alistair romance (that was before I learned you have to harden him),or trying to bump into Tamlen (which I only succeed once), or bump into Jowan (it was bugged and I still can't bump into him in Brecilian Forest to this day)
With Awakening, I played them 7 times before I realise there is no way you will complete all the companion's loyaltiy quest (I always missed Sigrun's), or getting Zevran's letter ...
You played Awakening seven times and didn't get all the loyalty quests?! I've only played it once all the way through, and I got and completed all of them. Sure, with Velana's it took a f***ing long time to get the random encounter, but I still got it. With Sigrun, just don't do the 'Law and Order' quest until after you get her to Amarathine.
Anyway. On topic: here is part 1/3 of my prompt story. This one is loosely based for Chantry, Anders and a bit of Trust (though that's going to be primarly in another part).
“Maker’s breath!” Anders swore as he dodged a flask of magebane and ducked behind a pillar.
The man’s eyes flashed blue as Vengeance made his displeasure known, before Anders roped the wayward spirit in. He muttered angrily to himself, before turning to his fellow apostate.
“Hawke, we’ll get slaughtered in here!” he yelled as the young woman fended off three Templars on her own.
“Fenris! A little help would be nice,” she called. “Isabela! Get that bloody door open!”
Moments later, a shout came from Isabela and Fenris knocked the Templars back. Taking the opportunity, the group bolted. The sound of plate mail boots echoed in pursuit.
“Anymore bright ideas?!” Anders demanded as they sprinted down through Kirkwall.
“I got a few, yeah,” Hawke retorted before turning to Fenris. “Fenris, can you phase more than yourself?”
“What?” the elf looked at her in confusion.
“Down here!” Isabela yelled, directing them to a side alley.
Everyone followed Isabela into the tiny passageway. And, after a few twists and turns, they all stopped. They waited for a few seconds, and then breathed a sigh of relief when no one appeared. As they panted for breath, Hawke turned to Fenris.
“If I use… my magic… to open myself… to the Fade… could you… pull me through… like you do to yourself?” she explained in between breaths.
“Uh… I don’t know…” Fenris panted. “I’ve never… tried… maybe… why?”
“Let’s test that theory,” she stated. “I want to pull a ‘Crazy Ivan’ and I need your help.”
“You can do that on land?” Isabela queried interestedly.
Anders, on the other hand, had suddenly gone pale. He was staring at Hawke in horror, as if she’d just suggested something stupid, illegal or very, very dangerous.
Fenris had the uncomfortable feeling that it was a mixture of all three.
“What’s a… ‘Crazy Ivan’?” he asked warily.
“You’ll see,” she replied cryptically. “Don’t worry. I’ll do most of the work, just get ready to grab my shoulder and phase. Trust me when I say you’ll know when.”
“Uhh… you sure that’s a good idea Hawke?” Anders inquired concernedly. “You know if it goes wrong…”
“Yeah, I know,” she assured him. “But would you rather be running around Kirkwall for the next five weeks until they get bored?”
Anders reluctantly inclined his head his head in defeat. He turned and nudged Isabela, motioning for her to follow him, which she did without protest. After a muttered word of ‘good luck’ the duo was gone.
“So… what do I have to do?” Fenris asked.
“I need to maintain my mana, so you’ll have to do any fighting,” Hawke replied. “Other than that, just run with me. When we get somewhere secluded, bolt to a side and join me behind them. That’s where I come in, and you get ready to phase the both of us.”
He nodded in understanding, even though he had no idea what Hawke was going to do.
They quietly kept to the back alleys, staying out of sight. After poking their heads out to look around for the fifth time, they spotted the Templars. Once they were sure that they were going to be seen, they bolted into the street and ran in the opposite direction. The shouts and thundering footsteps sped them on, dashing past market stalls, weaving through crowds of citizens and driving them deeper into Lowtown.
Finally, they came across an abandoned slum. Its inhabitants had been killed recently by chokedamp, the noxious gas that came up from nearby mineshafts. And so, with no innocents in the vicinity to put in danger and the Templars mere feet behind them, Hawke and Fenris put their plan into action.
As they had been running, Fenris had heard Hawke mutter under her breath, the mists of the Fade swirling around her. When she darted to one side, he bolted in the other. He watched as the Templars stumbled to a halt, trying to keep up with their quick-footed opponents. When they were behind them, he saw the mist around Hawke increase tenfold before condensing into her chest.
After crossing her arms before her chest, she raised her head and smirked at the Templars.
“Let’s see you oppress this,” she called.
Somehow knowing that that was the signal, he grabbed her shoulders. He eased his body into the Fade and forced himself to bring her with him, the effort searing his hands with pain. He watched as Hawke released a shockwave of raw magical power, obliterating the Templars before them and tearing up the cobblestone beneath them. He growled as the lyrium in his arms reacted to her magic, but he kept his grip on her shoulders.
And, as quickly as it had started, it was over.
The street square was in ruin. Scorch marks ran raggedly across the ground and the walls of the buildings, and the area underneath their feet was black. While the buildings had been ripped at, they all remain whole and standing. Anything in the square, however, had been levelled. The cobblestones that had been torn loose had been pulverised into dust, and covered the still bodies of the Templars.
Staring in both horror and morbid fascination at the destruction, it took Fenris a moment to realise that he was still holding onto Hawke, and that was keeping the two of them in the Fade. He slowly brought them back, and released Hawke. He watched as she swayed on her feet for a moment, making him almost reach out and hold her again. When she recovered her balance, she turned to him, her eyes strangely dull and her face shockingly pale, and she smiled weakly.
“Now that… was a ‘Crazy Ivan’,” she murmured.
He managed to catch her before she hit the ground.
--**--
Fenris stared at the door to Hawke’s room, ignoring Carver as he paced by every two seconds. He had blocked out Isabela’s voice, the pirate constantly going on about how amazing a sight it must have been and how she wished she had seen it. Varric was retelling a revamped and exaggerated version of the tale to Merrill, who had heard the news and just arrived.
He had never been so relieved to see Anders coming out of the room. Judging by the scowling look on his face, she was alright and had been arguing with him. When the man nodded to Carver’s question, Fenris breathed a sigh of relief.
“You did know that if she’d done that wrong, the magic she released would have torn her apart, don’t you?” Anders inquired, staring at him. “She’s lucky she only exhausted herself.”
“No, I didn’t know,” he answered honestly. “But after seeing what happened, I can imagine it.”
“Good,” Anders muttered, before turning to Varric. “Tiffany asks that you add this to the stock.”
He handed the dwarf a bottle with a light pink liquid inside it. It was what they’d gone into the Chantry to steal, though Fenris didn’t know what it was. Varric nodded solemnly and stowed it into his coat.
“Now, I suggest we all go home, and let our truly fearless leader get some rest,” Anders stated, ushering everyone out.
Give me a while (not going to say a few minutes, I remember what happened last time), and I'll be back with part 2/3.

That would be him... his description when you walk up to him before talking is 'lyrium addled dwarf'... and you may have had to talk to him more than once... because he also sells alot of the better gifts in the game... including one that earns you some extra dialog from Morrigan...
I don't see Fenris that way either... I see him as a total badass...which was my original impression of him to begin with. This whole lyrium scarred business could lead him down a VERY interesting path( I SWEAR the elven companions in this game may have best character storylines of anybody...).

It really all depends on how it's done. Garrus' scene was very brief but I loved it- the headbump, the little brush of Shepard's arm. Personally I prefer little details like that which show the emotion behind things. But I wouldn't object to something that's more passionate/ physical. I interpret Mike Laidlaw's comments (and he's doing a great job in all these interviews BTW- good salesman) to mean they just aren't going to show a lot of awkward pixel sex happening, and that is fine by me. You can still make a very hot scene with full-contact kissing and a little groping and then a fade to black.Tamyn wrote...

Did everyone see Mike Laidlaw's comments on sex scenes? More sexy, less sex? How does everyone think this'll affect Fenris? If we can keep it clean, lol.
I hope we don't get gypped like we were with Thane. One brief kiss and then fade to black. Lame.
Edit: I did love the emotional part of Thane's scene though. I just wish it went on a little longer.
I have no idea about Fenris in particular- whether his romance will have more of an emotional tenor or be rowdy/ physical. Character wise I think he could go either way.

Looks like you have no choice but to play it again.
Skip the Fade mod ftw. I have to replay it, as I am getting DA2 on PC and I never finished Origins on PC. I finished it on PS3 before I went out and bought it on PC. ...for some reason I just can't ever bring myself to finish a save though. I play a bit, get bored. Bit more, bored again.
Does that mod give you all the attribute boosts from the fade too or do you just end up skipping the the fade?

I don't want a rivalry romance with anyone to culminate in hate sex with declarations of how much they hate each other. "Up against the wall" romance I picture as aggressive, but not necessarily hateful. :-/
There's a very thin line between love and hate

A romantic dinner in the center of the earth? My Mage!Hawkette approves. ;D
Well, that raises some questions: First, can he phase others or just himsel? Second, does the phasing provide any protection from elements such as heat and molten magma?

I'm guessing if he put his mind to it, he could phase others too. However, I doubt the second one. xD It's still a funny thing to think about, if you conviently 'forget' to add in logic.

That's true! I didn't even think about Justice being playable in the Fade or how the trip might affect the Anders storyline. And instead of a Sloth demon they fight an out of control Vengeance who then comes to terms with his own tortured soul.
I am very excited for this game.
You know, that is a good idea!
Possibly there could be a decision over wether Justice returns to the Fade, or stays with Anders, or chooses another host, or you might have to kill him - and possibly Anders as well.
And I remember a prompt for "Fade" a while back where someone had the spirits of the fade being drawn to Fenris because of the lyrium...
WANT. GAME. NOW!
Just wondering why Vengeance (he is no longer Justice) would want to leave the mortal world or if Anders would want him to leave? Both seem geared towards a goal that is difficult (if not near impossible) to achieve. I suppose it would be possible to convince Anders to change over a 10 year period, but it might be just as likely that he becomes an abomination by the end..

Yes, you have the introductory scene with Fake Duncan, then you pop to your followers' Fade dreams and when you go to meet the final boss, all the codex and attribute points are automatically added. So you get the good stuff without the laborious slog. The Fade was a good challenge, but after playing it several times I'm glad to skip it.bsbcaer wrote...

@Maera: As Gilsa said, though, if you need a save- just let the community know and surely someone will have one close to what you're looking for. I think that in DA2 you'll actually be able to choose certain Origins plot points in character creator, so an import isn't strictly necessary?? It looked like that in some of the preview videos that just came out.

Then DA2 is announced and I need a save. I've been working on it, it's just slow, and not as fun to go through again, especially when Birth by Sleep is staring at me.
Probably would've helped if I hadn't made so many files at various stages of completion back on the PS3. I had to d/l a save for transfer into ME2 as it was, because I didn't even *own* ME1 back then. My brother did, and I played it on his 360. I have it on Steam now, but at the time I had to get one and a save editor and tweak some things. Rather just have my own this time around. Probably just turn on Godmode and go. haha.
