Yeah Fenris was the first thought that popped in my mind too when Mike mentioned a dick character.  

If Fenris is a douche I want the option for Hawke to get in a fist fight with him.

Though just in case. *gets stuff ready to jump onto the Varric ship*

We only think that may be the first time we meet him. Nothing was confirmed. We don't have context as to why he killed weird-looking dude either.

Have we played the game yet? No. We don't know if Carver is a dick (you know, it is possible to have siblings you outright think is a dick). We don't know if the clip showing Fenris killing the one guy is when we first meet him.

However,  I think he also mentioned that it was surprising that the character ended up being such a dick for a "goody-two-shoes" type playthrough.  I don't really think a mean/stoic/etc. Fenris would be particularly surprising...especially with what he's been through.   I was actually wondering if perhaps he meant Merril or Varric, which might be more of a surprise considering fan speculation and character model appearance.

I suddenly wonder what Fenris' reaction to all this talk of his lyrium markings would be. I just hope he doesn't phase-punch me!

There is conflicting evidence. In one thread it was said that we cannot undress companions. What would be the point anyway if we cannot change the outfits? In another, it was said that the underwear looks better than it did in Origins.

If its Varric I will rage. If it's Merril I'd lol. Just a continuation of Dalish elves being douchebags.

And the wierd-looking guy shows up to Hawke as well in a similar area, so he should be part of the same quest plot. Fenris is not in the party and they must be for companion quests, so it isn't a companion quest and he hasn't yet joined Hawke. Put those points together and it's likely that's around where you first meet him.

I don't want Fenris to be a jerk. That's the very reason I didn't care for Morrigan or Sten.

Oh I agree with you. If Fenris is the jerk I'm pretty much done with him. 

There's nothing I dislike more than jerks. Especially jerks to people who didn't do anything to them. 

I've never found the appeal in "fixing" the bad boy. And if I was a bad girl I'd find it more fun to corrupt a good boy. So either way badboys were a turnoff.

Sten's pretty pragamatic. 

I have no problem with cold pragmatic characters. Its out and out dicks I loathe. There's no reason to be a dick just to be a dick.

I honestly don't think the dick is fenris because when I first read his character page my first thoughts where that he will be a bit 'broken' - maybe untrusting, quiet and maybe slightly aggressive due to the way he had been treated in the past. Chris said that the 'dick' came as a surprise and I don't think it would be that surprising if fenris was that way!



I always have hope that my lady hawke could help him come out of himself though

it would be hilarious if ,after all the arguing in this thread about if Fen's bi or not, he's not even a LI. i would probably still hide in a corner and cry..afterwards make a therapy by writing fanfiction, but for a few seconds before doing that, i would laugh.

seriously though, i think he should be the bi option. mainly because i don't think it would suit Anders but also because, hey that guy has a serious case of amnesia so maybe he doesn't know what he prefered before being branded with lyrium and afterwards, well with all the being a living weapon now and escaping the magister i can't imagine sorting out his sexuality was very high on his to do-list.

If he is the jerk, I hope it's just because he's the serious type and non-sociable. Hot-headed/Impulsive is fine, too.

I don't want him to be a Morrigan-level jerk (evil). Not "I think people who are weaker than me or disagree with me derserve to die. We should also mess with them and be rude at every opportunity for lulz. If you don't you are also weak and undeserving of respect."
