Fenris was destined to kill Odin. If the magister, as the creator, is Loki, then perhaps he wanted to challenge a ruling deity, the Maker.

And that is what the Magisters have been up to for a while, no?

If you read the Codexes and believe what everyone says, then pretty much, yeah.

As long as there aint any dead wives/gfs.

I am good.

Agreed.

I don't want to be dealing with any angst man. Keep your dead lovers at the door, kthnx.

That reminds me of Thane...

"My wife...my wife..."
"I want you!"
"My wife.....oh yes i want you too."

? Thane isnt like that he doesnt cry all the time about his wife..:?

There is a particular moment when he sits at the table and talks about Erica, then you get the option to say "I want you" :DHe thinks a lot about her (even tho he might not say it)...or it's just my fangirl spirit?

@Madame Rose: i would def want to see that in a comic!

^ Given the context of Thane explaining what siha means, I personally think the conversation was just fine. It was just odd reading the paraphrased bit.

Anywho, I've been loving the speculation going on for the past few pages as I try to catch up!   I think I like the lyrium infused experiment with the purpose of discovery immortality or some other lost information theory the most. I dunno.

If Fenris' namesake is related to the elven god of trickery I can imagine him having a pretty snarky personality. He strikes me as a Jack (from ME2) or an Anders-like:

Varric:
So, you can't remember anything about your life before that magister?

Fenris:
That's right, I suffer from short term memory loss, it runs in my family...or at least I think it does, who are you again?

Varric: (mutters) Lousy scatter-brained elf

Fenris: I may be forgetful but I can still hear you!

DO WANT.
Snarky humor between companions would will be hilarious. You know, if we are able to romance Fenris, I can see Carver being all awkward about his sister's relationships and Fenris waving him off.

Carver: So... you, and my sister...

Fenris: Your sister and I what?

Carver: I-I saw you. I stopped by her place a few days ago to drop off groceries, and the door was open... and––

Fenris: Oh, that was quite a sight, wasn't it? Almost scandalous. I've realized I'm good at those sort of things.

Carver: What?! I never said anything about watching––

Fenris: It was probably unsightly and traumatic to your virgin eyes.

Carver: Who ever said I was a virgin––

FemHawke: Oh, that might've been me. Sorry.

Carver: I hate you all.

Hey, since the devs haven't announced the elite boss in DA II yet. Do you guys think it/he/she might have something to do with the mythology, too?

Like Odin?

"Do you need something?" Carver stopped as he approached the elven warrior, eyeing the tattooed man suspiciously.

"Yes, actually," he said, finally stepping forward to sit across from
the older man. Fenris didn't bother looking up, still carefully cleaning
his sword, eyes hard. "It's about my sister."

"Oh?" the elf said, still not looking up, "which one?"

Carver scowled at that, "Marian," he said, "you know that."

"Not a mind reader actually," the elf said simply, "pity though."

Carver gave an aggravated sigh, "look," he said, "I just want you to know that while I don't disapprove I'm watching you."

"Oh really now," at this the elf did look up, something like humour in his eyes, "that's not very appropriate."

"What?" Carver demanded, thrown for a loop, "I don't know what you mean!"

"Now now Carver," the elf said, "when you reach a certain age, you'll
find you have urges," he started only for Carver to stand with a yelp.

"Oh honestly!" he cried, stepping away, "you, you," he grasped for a way
to properly convey his horror, finally settling for throwing his arms
in the air and stalking off, muttering about filthy minded elves.

Fenris just smirked.

Obviously, I too am hoping for some excellent party banter.

And as for the ultimate boss, we do know Hawke will clash with the chantry, so it's very possible it will have some connection to gods in general.

This guy is terrible even considering the overall jrpg turn of DA2. He looks like crossover between Sephiroth and Justin Bieber and his 3 sentence backstory strikes as just so terrible that even Zevran suddenly feels appealing. ("Zevran: hey that stick is oblong! I wonder where I can insert it?") Or maybe not.

*LOLs at your Carver/Fenny dialogue* XD

You don't have to hope, Squadette; BioWare has a record of bringing awesome banter on a platter to us fans in every game. (At least I think that's the case...?)

I'd rather not find out whom/what the antagonist is until the game is out, but I speculate it will be a combination of the Chantry, which is trying to squash any and all rebellion in the first place, and the Qunari, who are presumably on a campaign to overtake the Free Marches, or at least the Kirkwall area.

Arh...that's just one of the theory:

Humph..I think this thread is long enough to run a summarize comment every five pages or so, like the old thread just in case whoever that hop on had no idea what we are talking about. Or the Eye of Sauron suddenly show us some Christmas mercy, decided to let us know more about him

You guys will need to correct me if I got it wrong, k?

Theory, regarding Fenris/ Fenny/ Meg/ Francis/Fen, how/where he came from:

1. Werewolf Theory:

He might be a god trapped in an elven form

Mostly based on RL myology. Also a codex entry in Dragon Age regarding the Dread Wolf named Fen'Harel.

2. Amgarrak Theory:

My old theory. That he might be the only and only Golem Trevinter magister had ever successfully managed after the Amgarrak disaster

3. Eluvian Mirror Theory:

Another theory we hugely discussed in the old thread. That our beloved elf is from beyond the mirror, only to be trapped here by the Trevinter Magister. Base on the WH DLC.

There are more still.

4. Ancient Arlathan Elf Survivor
Whether or not he is related to Fen'Harel, the appeal of his memories gone missing & his physical ability to withstand lyrium injects may go hand in hand with the fact he is the Magister's best kept secret - An ancient arlathan.

Subsequently, he'd then have knowledge long since destroyed by the history books. Too bad he has amnesia.

5. A Chantry Whistleblower
He maybe carrying knowledge that could force Thedes into the brink of war, which could be related to his lyrium addled experiments or something darker. This relates to the story of Fenrir in norse mythology.

6. Lyrium Infused Experiment for Immortality
Going hand in hand with your Amgarrak theory, though in a different avenue. Tervinter is trying to break into Elven biology & secrets of ancient immortality, which may have something to do with the lyrium infused in Fenris' system

See. So the Elite boss could be from both sides.

I'd really prefer to ignore him, partially because it's not the greatest insult; when FFVII came out Sephiroth was an awesome baddie and  as much as I dislike his music, Beiber is actually a very talented young man. The other reason is because he's obviously trying too hard.

If Fenris is an attempt to restore immortality to the elves there could be something more to it. The Elven Pantheon abandoned their race after they lost their eternal life, by having Fenris become immortal once more he could trigger the return of the Elven Gods. This return would then cause the epic battle between the forces of these gods and their Old God advesaries to begin once more.

Oh well, back to banter.

Isabela: So is it hard dealing with that whole "glowing lyrium" thing?

Bethany: What do you mean?

Isabela: Well, he has that shiny stuff all over doesn't  he? All that glow must make it hard to go to sleep.

Bethany: I couldn't tell you, we haven't been sleeping much lately (smirks at Fenris)

Carver:

Fenris probably forgot how to have sex when he lost his memories. Lady Hawke will have to remind him.
