YESSSS!! Always good to see a fellow Aussie. It seems we are rare and unusual phenomena, like unicorns.
Or like Fenris, one could say. ;)

Shame they don't also have Fran's VA. Now there's a distinctive voice.

Unpopular opinion: I'm not all that thrilled with Fenris's voice. Maybe the delivery of that line just wasn't very strong, but I'm not feeling it.

I'm kind of disappointed that a character with a story I like has such an out of place appearance and 'meh' voice. But I guess we'll see.

It's alright. The forum welcome all kind of opinion. I know for a fact there are a few people out there totally hate Alistair's voice. It's the personal taste.

@Tashash.

Lucy, for one, is an OZ.

New to the boards, but a QLDer here.

On topic: Anders fan foremost, but Gideon Emery's voice reminds me of Richard E Grant, so I think I'll very much enjoy any party banter the mage and the slave have together!

As I said earlier, I'm not feeling it much either at the moment, but I was the same with Snow's voice, because I had these preconcieved notions of what I thought it would be. Once we get to know more about his personality, and see his gorgeous lips speaking the lines, I'll probably grow used to it and realise that it suits.

Hey, QLDer! I'm from NSW, so I guess that makes us mortal enemies. XD

EDIT;; and yes, I do realise I could have just edited that last post. I'm a BioWare forum n00b. *shot*

I originally wasn't impressed with Zevran's voice, either, or the rest of him for that matter, but he grew on me and wound up one of my favourite characters. So who knows, maybe Fenris will grow on me, too.

I had the same problem with Zevran. When I first heard his voice my first reaction was, "Wut?? No, seriously, wut?"

Now, I can't imagine him with another voice.

Hmm, I can sort of understand it.  You may not be familiar with Gideon's other work like some of us are,  and it may be difficult for you to place a few seconds of acting to the character as squee!tastic.

That being said,  it might become easier once we get footage of Fenris speaking head-on (since the clip only shows the back of his head).  Like songs,  the voice could grow on you.  Or you may end up just not liking it at all.  You're right to take a wait and see approach.

A slave that doesn't particulary like mages and a possesed mage? Oh my that will be FUN :lol:And Lady Hawke as a mage too...HOW FUN!

I wonder if he will ever be able to consider a mage his friend or his life partner

I was the same. I'd heard so much about Zev before I actually played (I joined the Dragon Age fandom almost a year late due to an aversion to Medieval RPG's) that a Spanish accent seemed odd. I too, now can't imagine him with another voice.

Could someone quote the exact or link to the "dick" comment?

If it's a Morrigan kind of dick, especially since both are Gaider creations, I wouldn't mind if that's Fenris. Morri was my BFF.

Any conspiracy theories on why Fenris didn't appear in the team picker? Since it looks like Marian was just recruiting Isabela, I assume it means he just hasn't been recruited yet in that bunch.

Link here, Addai!: http://social.biowar...6012607#6012994

I'm assuming he just didn't get Fenris yet ... but the crappy part is that he had literaly everyone else. Other than Bethany, of course. And Isabela. So it looks like Fenris is last :/

Or he just hadn't bothered to recruit him yet.

Hmm... Isabela's recruit was cool, although I wish they had done Fenris'.

Or maybe he had recruited the person already and is on the team.

I
don't really mind if it is Fenris, I loved Sten in origens, and Morrigen
thou she would frustrate me to death at time, I liked her as well.

(sorry for late post, jumps back to 628 - so much to read lol)

Enormous Pterry fan, yes!

I think it would be interesting if character's responses to our classes and specs went beyond the few scattered lines of dialogue they threw out in DAO and actually changed entire conversations. A Mage would be slower to build friendship with Fenris, a Templar gets more approval from Aveline, Isabela starts along a rivalry path with a Duelist, etc.
I can imagine it would drive people nuts, though.
