Is anyone else than just me staring at his back when he's walking down the stairs after killing the guard? I always pause in that part and just stare at it.... I can't look away. o.o

He's totally an LI. Not only is he apparently the only companion Gaider wrote (and Gaider has said he wrote a romance), but he's also quoted in 2009 as saying he would like to use Gideon Emery as the voice for a romance character one day. So I would bet my life savings on it! (Ignoring the fact that I have no life savings because I'm a spendthrift )

I think the only thing that's really up in the air at this point is whether he's a straight or bi romance.

I really don't remember if this been discussed about yet, but do you think it'll be easy to romance him(if he really is an LI option)?

I really don't remember if this been discussed about yet, but do you think it'll be easy to romance him(if he really is an LI option)? 

In my personal opinion:

Probably going to be someone you have to earn the complete trust of first, ESPCIALLY if you're playing a mage. But totally worth it.

I agree. It should take time - if for no other reason that it would make it more meaningful. Hopefully Hawke will be able to get his/her kicks elsewhere with NPCs if desired, but a relationship with a companion should be deeper, and develop over the course of the game.

I say should, perhaps I mean would be preferable to me.

I am very impressed with the choice of Gideon Emry for Fen's VA. Also Fenris suprisingly speaks in the same way that I thought he would. Also after seeing Fem!Hawke and Isabela together in the demo I think I've found my Hawke's best friend.

Isabela: Come on now, he's got that deep voice, and those cute eyes, you can't tell me you haven't been staring.

Hawke: You make a habit of taking note of who I stare at?

Isabela: What can I say? I needed a hobby.

It's times like these that I wish I didn't have dial-up (okay, it's all the time, but I really feel it in these circumstances). I haven't been able to watch any of the videos so I don't know what his voice sounds like, I don't know what his swagger looks like... it's killing me. One could argue that I'm "blessed" with even more anticipation, but who the hell wants that?



And @ catabuca, yes. One of the things that irked me about Origins (even if it only took place over a year or so) was how quickly the LIs decided they wanted to have sex with you. I would deliberately avoid giving gifts (other than the important ones) to the people I intended to romance and just let the relationship develop over the course of the game through conversations and stuff like that. But then after you had sex... nothing new. So what I'm hoping for is that even after you have sex with these new LIs in II, you'll still have something to talk about/develop afterward. Seriously. I know it's a trophy, but don't make it feel like one.
