I bet Fenris is the guy that won't let you have the upper hand even in joking, playful situations. That's the only possibility I've been able to come up with that can connect his backstory with Balthier voice.
And that kind of person drives me NUTS. Argh. I'm going to love to hate him, if that's the case.

Hawke: "I WIN!"
Fenris: "WTF?! GO FISH SUCKS!" *Lyrium attacks cards and they melt in space*

Ooo, I forgot a flower. Aconitum! (First person to identify *one* it's common names wins a plate of non-fattening virtual cookies. )

Isn't one of the names Aconitum, is know by wolfsbane? (if so wolf/=/Fen? XD)

Someone else already got it, but YES. Wolfsbane, monkshood, aconite... it's got lots of names. :D

I have been following this forever, back in the day when I was all like throwing down the gauntlet. Its weird hearing Gideon be snarky as opposed to charming. Balthier's like my fav fav fav character ever. A lot of suspension of belief for me man. Else in the game I'm all going to be searching for a that "Hey! Sky pirate!" optional dialogue thing, or a mod to make me wear ten inch stilettos and grow long rabbit ears.

I was trying to get this finished for page 666, since it 'is' kinda... hellish, I guess. >_> This is not my style to draw in ATALL, but it seemed the most fitting.

There was somesuch quite awhile ago about Fenris baking cookies. This popped into my head:

http://i256.photobuc...pg?t=1297576737

pretty sure it's been done before, but wth...

Not really. I don't know how to explain it better. The kind of person who reads stakes into every little encounter. Somewhat inflexible, like he's got a role defined for himself. His way or the highway but not stated as an ultimatum, he'll change the situation to be like that. I don't know if anyone's ever been in this situation but it's like fake arm wrestling a guy who still uses his full strength against a wimpy girl like myself even though it's supposed to be for fun.

That kind of person drives me up the friggin wall.

It could be up for some fun rivalry then! Hah, what if you end up getting surprise romanced man?

Hawke: "OMG u are unbareable.."
Fenris: "....."
Hawke: "MOVE MOVE."
*Fenris throws Hawke up against the wall*
Hawke: "What the ffffuuuu--"
*Fireworks and a heavy punch to the face*

I keep getting Heathcliff, Male-Morrigan, Darcy vibe from Fenris. which is okay in my book, because my PCs are almost always typically aggressive, mean, and sarcastic. We are gonna be soooo snarky and hated in our party... Its nice to MAYBE have an LI option who agrees with "selfishness" and "jerkery" too, like how the boys did with Morrigan.

Erm, I meant more along the lines of "compulsion to emerge on top" rather than "overt hostility at loss."

Seriously man. That's how this thread GOES in my head. Its how I stay somewhat sane. Cuz half the sheez that goes down in here is NOT SANE.

You hear the rockin' tunes too? Oh sheez. I think I sense Fenris Theme Song fangirl guessing! I bet its gonna be 65bpm. Probably flamenco gui- Nah, too Zevran. Drums. and a Kazooo.

Yeah. Fenris is emerging as much darker than I had original anticipated. When I first saw his pic, I was all like 'OMG that poor ex slave secret tevinter weapon hunk baby D: I'll shield him in my arms and teach him to read...' and as more info is being released, I'm realizing the poor ex slave secret tevinter weapon hunk baby would rather stand outside, glare, and stab books.

This forever. I love Heathcliff, but I love Darcy more, mostly for the fact that he's this stoic, standoffish, yet intensely vulnerable person. Fenris coming out with a "I do not have the talent of conversing easily with people I have never met before," sort of thing would be schweet.

I know. I agree with your theory of his character. I can easily see him as being an inflexible, my way or the highway guy. I mean, he has had his will subjugated for god knows how long, it's understandable that he would want to control situations that involve his person.

The darker Fen gets, the darker my Lady!Hawke gets. In just a week, she'd gone from the light-hearted and sarcastic Isabela/Anders love child, to a broody, closed-off magette, with a dark, morbid, sarcastic sense of humor, who kills, does and saves what and who she wants, and by the Black City, anyone who stands in her way better know how to run. Oh, and she's also all angsty about the death of her baby sister. :)
