You know, I was thinking about something the other day whilst off in la-la land.  The Fade.  I know some of us have our grievances with the Fade ("It takes too long!"  "It gives me a headache!" "It's so repetitive!") but I do recall a dev saying that it would make a return in DA: 2, and that it was awesome.

In DA: O and 'The Calling', the demons send their captive's consciousness to the Fade and attempt to hold them there with enticing 'dreams' that they 'wouldn't want--or try--to leave', and these dreams varied greatly from person to person.

Some of them were--for lack of betters words--what you'd expect of an 'enticing' dream.  They were pleasant, and plainly displayed the captives wants and desires, like Alistair living a life together with his sister, or Maric being reunited with Katriel.

Others were more torturous, like Zevran reliving his training with the Crows, Wynne being forced to face her dead apprentices, Sten being reunited with his brothers, or Fiona being returned to her old master.

So, my question is, what kind of 'dream' do you think Fenris would get if you brought him with you for the Fade quest?  Pleasant or torturous?  And who else would you bring with you to fill out the remaining slots and why?

I would definitely bring Fenris, because I think it would be a good chance to get more insight into his character and his past, but I think I would also bring Isabela (because then we'd maybe find out more about her relationship with her husband) and then either Anders (would he be separated from Justice in the Fade?) or Carver/Bethany (once again, for more insight.)

Idk but I definitely hope that we get to see more moments like the Fade Nightmares/The Guardian questions. I loved those. I thought they added a bit of depth to each character and it'd be nice to get moments like them again.

1)Since it was stated, I believe in live chat, that we will have a choice in helping him in revenge or further in hiding his tracks. similar with choice for Sebastian, but what is your preference? Me revenge, more blood is always a plus.



2) Question to fengirls since it is mostly your domain. Romance wise, if possible, do you plan going with a cliche "crawling under bad boy's skin until I soften him up" or making him ever darker, hardening him. Please go with second, pretty please.

I really, really liked the Fade. I thought it was fun.

It would be kinda funny if there was nothing but a big blank space because he has no memories. Or actually sad even, sitting all alone on cliff overlooking a vast void. Actually, now that I think about it, that would be kinda interesting and then Hawke has to talk to him directly about it. Insight get!

For me, it will depend on what type of character I'm playing. If it's my planned first character (smart-ass mage that loves her family) she will soften him. If I ever create a character that has reasons for hardening then I will.

The Fade Issue:



If it's torturous, reliving the lyrium branding. Pleasant...a normal life, where he was never a slave, never was tortured, he is comepletely...normal! Maybe even to throw in same angst, a Desire Demon is pretending to be Hawke (if romancing Fenris, 'course), who he imagines is his wife, and he's not sure if he should trust the Demon or the Real Hawke.



I feel sadistic for wanting him to relive the lyrium branding. More angsty, and it will answer some questions.
