Speculation tiem! Disclaimer: All my assumptions/guesses are based on my impression of the short story.

I don't think they'll be rivals, but it sounds like it might take him a while to respect her, for being Dalish. ('wandering clans that grubbed in the dirt for whatever scraps the human kingdoms threw them') He also might think she's a bit too soft-hearted. (And vice-versa, on Merrill's side) I have a feeling he'll gain some respect for her when she shows what she can do with blood magic. Also, I have a feeling some of their party banter will consist of him questioning the Dalish way of life.

2) How would a Fenris/Hawke child turn out? And how would Fen react to fatherhood?

Very pretty  I have no idea how he'd react to fatherhood. He might see it as something that ties him down, like the magister did, and freak out completely. Or he might take the role of a father seriously, and want to prove to himself that he can take care of something better than what the magister did him, or some psychobabble along those lines.

3) Wouldn't pregnancy be a real risk, considering you no longer have that 'Grey Warden infertility' thing to brush it off with? I don't think Thedas has very good birth control, m'kay?

Maybe IRL. Good thing it's a game, no? It's already been confirmed that pregnancies aren't in.

4) Fenris and Anders pulling a 'BishopVSCasavir for PC's affection' stunt. Discuss.

As someone who recently completed NWN2 with romance mods and a CN tiefling that had no trouble stringing both along, YES PLEASE DELICIOUS DRAMAZ. I'm still forming an opinion on how it'd go, though.

5) Will Fenris have at least a *little* Balthier in him when it comes to the ladies? ;D Please?

I think he might, from the way the one scene in the short story was worded. And the fact that, come one, it's Gideon Emery!

I loved his charecter design, the early tidbits of info, and of course his voice actor. But that story just sealed it for me. Fenris is so much more awesome than I had originally believed!!!!

Huh. I like the idea that Fenris and Merill, our only elven companions, dislike each other rather then they become BFFs. xD

^^ that's probably true. Unless Fenris turns out to be REALLY different than he seems(any of the different ways people have figured him) I can't really imagine him like... skipping through the woods, arm-in-arm, with Merril.

Yeah, I was surprised at the sleazy edge to Fenris' thoughts. I...I think I like it.

I wonder if the Bi romance (for whoever it is, either Fenris or Anders) will be different than Zevran. And by that I mean: Zevran was very open about the fact that he had been with both men and woman. Perhaps-and I was mostly thinking of Fenris, since he hasn't had an opportunity to be around a lot of people,being on the run and everything-the character won't "know" they are Bi until M!Hawke romances them. Would this bother anyone, if the character wasn't really presented as Bi until the male PC romanced them?


P.S. I had few doubts that Fenris would be a LI, but it's good to know for sure <3 I was begining to hope that Varric would be the other one, though....

As much as I loved Zevran, I really want Fenris to be his polar opposite. Sure, I don't mind if he has dirty thoughts about a woman's cleavage, but I really hope he's one to keep those thoughts to himself.

I get the impression Fenris will like you more as a friend if you go into the direction of Charge in and KILL when it comes to confrontations, and become more of a rival if you prefer to negotiate your way through problems.

I really don't know either. Personally, I'm hoping for Fenris. Boy's skin is too bronze and he looks like someone I typically run into at the gay clubs, minus the ears.

If I remember correctly, one of the devs played through the whole game recently and discovered that one of the party members who he was looking forward to using turned out to be much more of "a dick" than he expected, so he left him for his less benevolent playthrough.
I'm guessing that party member was Fenris. It just seems the most likely.

Short story about Anders has a very strong "for the revolution" overtone which I like the most about him. And Fenris has the same although it is present under the layer of cynical observer of the fate of his people mixed with the disgust for their passiveness. Here's to the hope it breaks to the surface once we deal with the magister.

My only expectation for him is to be romantic. Like Valen. oh, and for his romance to be angsty (c'mon, it's Gaider who's writing him!). I won't mind it one bit if he has dirty thoughts, nope, not one bit. ;D
