If people do push Hawke to get rid of Fenris because he's an elf and she'd in a position of power, I would flaunt their relationship about, make it as public as possible, just to shove it to the man. Because, if you're willing to give up something you love because of peer pressure, you don't really love it, do you? And yes, Ali-bear, I'm looking straight at you. Of course, I believe that within love is the highest power mortals can achieve. Love conquers all, no? Yeah, I totally went all Dumbledore-y on you at that last part. xD kinda makes my statement invalid, the cheesiness.

I would like to - I can't think of a good song though so I'm gonna wait till I play the game for inspiration. I've already got plans of making an Isabela video featuring "Teeth" by Lady Gaga, and I might be making a M!Hawke/Merrill video using the song "Hey Na Na" by Katie Herzig (I have to wait and see what Merrill is like, first, to see if her personality fits that song).

O.O OMG guys today was an EPIC day of sqeeing and fangirl joy! I was soooo excited to read all of those short stories about the characters,especially Fen and Anders! While reading Fenris' background snippet, I couldn't help cheering him on while he tried to escape. And it's good to know he can still appreciate a lady's assets, even in the middle of a fight! I admit I read the majority of it in Gideon Emery's lovely voice.

Now that I know who the LIs are that Fenris is definitely a LI, I sort of want to start my blackout, but then I don't... and then I do. Ugh. The indecision is killin' me!

I Hate Everything About You - Three Days Grace (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)

She hated him.  Yet she couldn't help falling victim to his alluring gaze of untouched ivy.  He disgusted her, yet her heart couldn't help fluttering everytime he so much as glanced at her and she despised that feeling.  Just because she didn't go around lobbing heads off for a hobby, didn't mean he had the right to degrade her decisions and challenge her leadership.

She needed to confront him on this, even if it meant running the risk of his fist being phased through her chest.  Marian set off for his cabin at once, despite the bitter winter air that nipped at her nose, claiming it in the wind's icing embraces.  Once there, she beat her fist on the door, "Open up." She demanded.
Fenris snorted, recognizing the voice and opening the door, stepping outside.  "What do you want, Hawke." He spat combatively.

"Answers." Marian huffed.  A heavy rain had begun, drenching both of them.
"Enough with the cryptics, Hawke.  Spit it out." He growled darkly.
The mage's icey glare narrowed, penetrating his own smoldering gaze.  "Why must you constantly challenge my leadership everytime I make a decision that you don't fancy?" She inquired, jabbing him in the chest with her finger.  There was unmatchable tension between them.  Not the good sort either.  The kind of aggresive tension that you get when waiting for your enemy to draw there blade against you and make the next move.
For better or for worse.
Fenris shrugged arrogantly.  "Because you were wrong.  Obviously."

"I hate you!" She gasped, exasperated.  The woman waved her arms about for added emphasis on her point.
"The feeling is mutual darling."  The charming Elf purred deviously.  He couldn't let her win.  Couldn't let his prey escape.  There was a preditorial look in his mossy green eyes.  To further take away her power, he gripped her by the shoulders, wrenching her close for a spiteful kiss.  A fiery, hateful kiss.  The tension was at a boiling point now, overflowing the boundries of sanity. 

She bit down on his lip, but he was relentless.  This just added fuel to the fire.  The tips of his metal gloves dug into her shoulders.  His hand soon was entwined with her sopping wet hair.  She bit down harder, drawing blood.  He won't win this one.

I agree. I was like "but where is my Warden?"...no way she would have abandoned him but then again I don't really understand the whole awakenings/anders/DA2 timeline...

Btw, all the short stories were really good. I loved Fenris'!

@Erani It doesn't make sense to me yet, either. Though I have no idea when he enters the DA2 timeline. Maybe the Warden had some mysterious business to attend to later in the ten years, or something... but I was under the impression Anders joined early on.

Any thoughts on when Fenris joins the party?

Well, to be fair, it wasn't just the short story. It was also the video where he slaughters the mercenaries who tried to lay a trap for him, and then struts down the steps and brazenly turns his back on the remaining merc.
There's also "They know what I am. Let them come, if they find the courage."
Then you have the evidence from the short story:

Fenris paused and stared at the man in disgust. He’d thought to blend
in more once he’d escaped the Imperium. In a land where elves were
free, certainly one more elf would go unnoticed? He’d been a fool, of
course. How was he to know that so many of his people would squander
their freedom living like frightened cattle?

So they weren’t warned. Fools.

Oh, how Fenris loved it when they said that. “Not afraid you’ll lose your head for good?”

And of course the part where, despite the fact that he's running for his life, he takes time to appreciate some cleavage.

I don't think anyone is suggesting he's going to be constantly, overbearingly egotistical but he does seem to think he's untouchable and enjoys goading his enemies. Which is awesome sauce.

Also remember that there is a confirmed "jerk" amongst the companions (at least according to Chris Priestly) and it could easily be Fenris...

I found Fenris' short story to be awesome, looks like our buddy's got himself a Boba Fett-like bounty hunter on his tail. From the sound of it Fen decapitated the guy and he got better.

Fenris: (notices the Hunter walking down the street) Run.

Hawke: Why? Its just a bounty hunter. We've killed half a dozen just like him without breaking a sweat.

Fenris: This one doesn't stay dead.

Hawke: What do you mean "doesn't stay dead"? When people die they tend to stay dead.

Fenris: Not him. One time I took his head clean off, another time I punched clean through his chest. Whatever magics my old Master worked on him, he's functionally immortal. Vishante kaffar he's here.

Hunter: Fenris! I would have thought you'd have fled by now. (noticing Hawke) And who is this beautiful creature? (Fenris clenches his fists and starts to glow slightly) Oh Fenris, you didn't. The poor deluded slave found himself a lady? How sweet.

Hawke: I'll give you sweet. (a blast of telekinetic force sends the Hunter flying backwards Hawke then proceeds to light the unconsious man ablaze.) Let's see that sodding bastard get up from that.

Fenris: (Mouth slightly agape) That was a little harsh.

Hawke: Well he was threatening you, and no one threatens the man I love.

Fenris: You scare me sometimes.
