Whats with his shoes (well, lack of)? Looks pretty stupid, and an easy way to get his feet cut to pieces.

His hair makes him look like a metrosexual emo douche too.

Yeah, his lack of shoes are a little bothersome, but I have a thing about dirty feet. Yuck. Posted Image

Other than that, I think his hair is great, as is the rest of him!

I personally hope he isn't some kind of demigod or golem (the latter is mostly because I haven't played any of the DLC's beside Shale's and I don't want Fen to be immortal).

I think it's big enough that he is slave to a Tevinter magister, had lyrium burned into his skin and survived ending up as a living weapon. If he's also a demigod he'll become bigger than Hawke who's the protagonist.. anyway that's just my opinion. Posted Image

It would be interesting if he had some kind of addiction to the lyrium in his skin (or body?) but I could easily accept that he's the succesful experiment among many and has become tolerant to the lyrium.

I'm leaning towards SirOccam's theory mixed with the living golem one; I also sort of doubt he's Fen'Harel incarnate or just a container for the god.

That would be interesting! I wouldn't mind something like that in game, where we would help him cope with it or go on a quest focusing on it or something.

Not sure when but someone mentioned/asked a while back how you meet Fenris, perhaps he is passed out in a barrel on the beach or something (kind of like stray dog, which then leads again to his name dammit...) and he has an aversion to Hawke who is offering help...then he stalks Hawke for a while until heroically jumping in during a battle and saves the day! *ahem* Or you know...he just says 'hi'

On the matter if he is indeed a flesh golem, wouldn't there be more of them? If the Tevinter Magisters wanted to figure out immortality by experimenting with the lyrium tattoos, there should be other Fenris's running around Thedas if Fenris was the successful prototype....what happened to the failed ones?

The new articles didn't say anything about Fenris :( I was hoping for a little bone to chew on...Maybe the other ones that will come?

Whatever he is I was put off a little by his hair, the rest is really intresting.

Methinks that he is a weapon literally and figuretively, thus bare feet and hands. Maybe he can transform his flesh into some kind of magic metal?

I wonder also what is the feather style... Just a decoration, some of the Tevinter style? Or something else. :) I guess we'll see.

Given some of Darth Gaider's later responses on the Varric thread, where he apparently gave Mary the Look of Extreme Withering for revealing his voice actor before marketing thought it was acceptable to do so, I very much doubt he's going to drop any substantial hints for us about the glowy elf. Gaider always seemed much more tight lipped about his characters than the other writers.

I believe Mr. Gaider doesn't want to share his shiny elf with the rest of the community... Even if the only thing some of them want for Christmas right now is confirmation on the question:

Is he a LI, or not?

I think it's less about not sharing, and more about going along with the marketing strategy that the developers have come up with for how and when they release this kind of information. Even Chris apparently lectured Mary for giving away too much about Varric before she was supposed to, though I doubt she did it purposefully as I remember how shocked she was that the psychics on the Varric thread figured out some things about him with so little information to go on. Chances are that even if Gaider wanted to share things with us, the higher ups are probably keeping a tight rein on what can and can't be shared.

Nyaore, you ninja lady! *shakes fist*

Mm, well, I think his withholding standard is reasonable. Sometimes I think being tightlipped about something is better for getting fans hyped up than revealing information. Christmas presents are a perfect example. Getting a sneak peek at your presents isn't nearly as fun as getting pleasantly surprised on the day you can open them. That's just my opinion, of course; I know people who need to know what they're receiving before they make the decision to keep it/buy it etc.

I think it's reasonable as well. As much as I thrive on a continuous stream of information, it almost always leads to my becoming slightly underwhelmed with the game once I finally have it in my hands. Especially when the developers reveal far too much, to the point where you almost know exactly how a character will progress.

@HolyJelly, Yeah, they screened this sometime last year. Tom is engaged to the lead actress in the series at the moment.

His voice suits Fenris, in my opinion.

This is largely how I feel, tiny bits like we have now really fuel speculation, which is half the fun of pre release info, yes? However, tiny bits are like only eating a little, it's tempting to have more but if you partake of too much you end up missing dessert.

Tom to me is a little too growly, I meanI love his voice, but Fenrir too me seems like he'd be somewhere between growly and smooth.

You're completely right... *sigh* Well, I know that when they release DA2 on 8th of March, I'll have turn of the internet and stop visiting the forum so I wouldn't accidentally spoiler myself... :( (Since in Europe the game is out on 11th which is Friday! I had already preordered it but it'll probably take a few days to arrive...)

Ah, the powers of YouTube. Give me a second.

Hmm, I don't like him as much. He'd be good, but someone else would sound better (I can't see Fenris with that voice).

I was also watching Supernatural earlier, and I noticed someone else (lots earlier)suggested Misha Collins or Jensen Ackles would have the voice. Collins-- no. He fits a taller guy with dark hair, but that might be the fact that the character he plays basically has no emotions exception to the very ends of season 5 (but at the very end of the last episode of season 5 and now in season 6, he's back to emotionless). Ackles sounds closer, but his voice sounds a little too deep for Fenris' appearance.

You guys are right...i guess we'll have to wait and see (and hope for the best). He is still an important char, no doubt, and the odds of him being an LI are pretty high.

To be sincere I would want to hear voice more than i would like to find out if he is an LI or not...that won't do any harm and we won't swim in tears xD

I guess there are some more character reveals to be done b4 this big announcement too. We are still lacking a mage...maybe another warrior or rogue...

If it were up to me, Fenris would be voiced by Kirk Thornton.

He's not pretty, but he has a voice that could melt butter.

His credentials include Kuze from Ghost in the Shell, Jin from Samurai Champloo, Saix from Kingdom Hearts, and a whole list of other games & titles.

Well you know being THE MAN OF LYRIUM can come with some issues. Like having a flaky memory....

Hawke: Fenris, where are you shoes, all you've had on this entire time are those sock-things.

Fenris: What do you mean, of course I'm wearing shoes, their right here on my...oh, well that would explain why my feet have been cold.

Hawke:
Don't worry I'm sure we can find you another pair around camp.

Carver: I'm sure that Isabela might have a pair of boots that a manly-man such as yourself will find quite fetching.

Hawke: (Gives Carver the Glare of Death)
