There's one preset with it and one without it. I would look for the dev quotes about it but I'm to tired..

It is removable, thankfully. At first it looked rather cool, but seeing it in conversations and love scenes is just off...

Seriously, his skin texture looks a lot like lightly toasted bread.  Not saying that's a good or bad thing, not my place to decide such things
