I'd personally like to see a new mage companion.

As for voice actors, I can't really think of anyone off the top of my head, Jensen might be okay, but it still doesn't have the quality I'm trying to pinpoint for him.

Edit: Kirk Thorton has a sexy voice, I agree he'd totally work. I was actually sort of leaning toward Doug Erholtz (Squall in Dissidia, Leon in Kingdom Hearts, Takeshi in Prince of Tennis, Gin in Bleach, various others I don't recall) but he has too much of a drawl I find.

If it were up to me, Fenris would be voiced by Kirk Thornton.

He's not pretty, but he has a voice that could melt butter.

His credentials include Kuze from Ghost in the Shell, Jin from Samurai Champloo, Saix from Kingdom Hearts, and a whole list of other games & titles.

Well he's probably less expensive than Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy.

I like this suggestion :D *watches Samurai Champloo*

Or Steven Blume! He's worked with Bioware before, very famous in the VA world.

He was drunk and scratchy Oghren in DA:O, but he's mostly known for his role as Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop. He also voiced Vincent Valentine in all the FF7 spinoffs. That might be a nice fix for pretty boy.

I can pick up Blum's voice from a mile away though, he's great but... everywhere.

But David had this particular actor in his head as he wrote Fenris. He did not expected this actor would be free and agree to do it.

So he's probably well known and hadn't do much VA before, yes?

Perhaps he's Hugh Jackman. ^_^

I hope not, Hugh's great to look at but his voice is only ever Hugh's voice. Has anyone mentioned Crispin Freeman? I thought they had, I won't deny that I love his voice.

Yup, I did.

The only problem I have with C. Freeman is that in any of the work I've seen of his, his voice is sort of... floaty. Again, I repeat, it's not a bad thing, but it possibly wouldn't fit. But the more I think about it, it could work.

If that's the case, then I wonder if the actor is related to a fantasy movie of some sort?

Not necessarily a current and HUGE star though is he?
He's got meme powers to boot.

Also he's transitioned to other mediums.

I can just imagine Fenris sitting in front of a fangirl crowd while they discuss his voice, if he is an LI... and him face-palming and looking all overwhelmed

I am incredibly intrigued by Fenris. There are so many theories and so little information. Is he a demigod, werewolf, Arlanthan survivor, immortal, a LI (I am hoping Fenris is a LI)? There is an air of mystery about Fenris that attracks us, me to him.  They say there is magic in the mystery. I have no doubt in my mind Fenris will be an amazing character simply because David Gaider is the man behind the elf.  With that said, Matthew Goode could be an interesting actor for the VA.  MG is in Watchmen (horrid movie, but he was great in it) and Leap Year (see parentheses for Watchmen). Or perhaps someone less British such as Crispin Freeman. I have read Crispin's name a lot in these threads and decided to listen to his voice on youtube.  All I can say is yes please!

Oh, crap! I just thought of someone else that would sound sooo good....

What is his name... What is his name...

Aha! Troy Baker. He's the VA for Logan Thackeray, the iconic human for the upcoming GW2. (Steve Blum is also VAing the Charr iconic).

This video here is good-- he's the first person you hear:

Seth Green. Yes he was Joker, but still he's pretty snarky and he'd make a good elf IMO

Well yeah *cough* But at least they had dwarven-elven rivalry in the movie. I love that.

Actually, Troy sort of looks like Fenris...a little, and he does have a pretty mind melting voice.

As for Freeman's voice, I too thought it'd be too floaty, but then I remembered he does Rude's voice in the Final Fantasy film Advent Children as well as the voiced games in the FFVII compilation.

Sad thing is that I just thought of it, and when I saw that video a few months back I went: "Wow, what a lovely male voice."
