Aveline: Hello Fenris.

Fenris: Hello. Have you seen Hawke around?

Aveline: I'm afraid not, mages don't tend to flock to the Chantry, especially considering that this is usually when the Templars take midday prayers.

Fenris: Having been chased down by Templars before I can see why she would avoid this place. Those people are more ruthless than my old master.

Aveline: They're not that way by choice believe me.

Fenris: I thought that the order was voluntary?

Aveline: It is, anyone who wants to join can, but the traditonal view of Templars as heroes is a false one, they take you and turn you into something more akin to a machine than a person.

Fenris: How do you know this?

Aveline: (inhales deeply) Wes- my husband was a Templar. Back when we were children we were brought up on the tales of the mighty Templars who went off into the unknown to fight dragons and Archons and whatever other magical horrors lurked around Thedas. Becoming a member of the Order was what he always dreamed about. When he finally took his vows he was a courageous, loving man. Yet he soon became distant, focused completely on his work. I know he loved me but, it was like he was just a puppet upon a string rather than the man I loved.

Fenris:I apologize, I did not mean to pry.

Aveline: There is no need, it feels good to be able to talk about it with someone. Sometimes I think that its what we do in the Maker's name that keeps Him away. They take good men and women and turn them into these walking husks that do their bidding, they took away my Wesley, I can't imagine what they do to others.

Whee!  So we might be able to recruit Fenris in the demo?  That would be a nice barfday present.

Unfortunately it doesn't sound like it.  If you listen from a little earlier, the woman presenter saw only the demo footage and the guy who mentioned Fenris saw a bit more of the game.

Fenris looks and sounds awesome...although I am a bit reserved about how he sounds since Balthier in FF12 was def an annoying character, infact that whole game was awful....but thats not the point, the point is I'm really looking forward to meeting and hanging out with Fenris, Him and Isabela seem to be the best characters from what I've seen!

Look at all the interesting things that have transpired in my absence.

I've been wondering about what Fenris's personal quest will be and I think it could have something to do with rediscovering his past, pre-magister.  That might not be very plausible, since he's from Tevinter and we'll be in Kirkwall, but who knows. 

I'm quite interested in his origins and it'd actually be a bit surprising if they don't come up at some point.  He could even still have family, although that doesn't seem terribly likely.  I wonder how old he was when the magister got him.  Oh jeez, thinking about Wee!Fenris getting lyrium branded makes me even more wibbly than normal Fenris getting lyrium branded.   Though I doubt the magister would perform experiments like that on a kid, not because of any ethical misgivings but because they might not be able to withstand whatever strain is put on the body.        

His personel quest will probley have something to do with killing the magisters ending the hunt once and for all or covering his tracks just my guess. I want to decapitate that magister bastard!

As we discussed yesterday. We also wonder if we need to pick between the Mage and the Chantry, and whether Fenris or Anders will turn on us. Or if they can be persuade, like Justice and Velana in Awakenings.

You'll discover Fenris actually has a wife and seventeen children waiting for him back in Tevinter and said wife is chasing him down via rumors of an escaped elven slave matching his description and then you'll be forced to either lie to her, give Fenris over to her, or kill her!
